V2V charging is great, however it's BS that I can't use my $1000 charging dollars for a new portable charger that supports V2V charging. I'm on a 18 month lease, so it's not worth me spending $700 for the new charger for a rare case of it's use.

V2L however would be ideal. Then i could use it for anything including any EVSE!

Does anyone know if V2L is in Lucids roadmap. That's going to be deal breaker for next vehicle. If Gravity doesn't support it, then it's out.

I just saw a demo of the Lectron V2L adapter that provides 120V @ 15 A from a Hyundi Ioniq 5. Its $99 on Amazon. I sure want something like that when my Lucid is finally delivered! Someone I know here said he got a V2L adapter with his KIA.

V2L was a really big selling point for me, so I'm disappointed that my 2023 AT can't even use the rangeXchange adaptor without buying a new version of the Lucid portable charger. That solution would at least allow you to recharge some portable batteries like Ecoflow. But I was expecting to buy the $1000 ev charger when they announce V2L. But I'm not holding my breath and may simply buy a regular backup battery without any car integration.

I agree. It was one of the main reasons I bought my 2023 AT. Now as one of the moderators, Bobby says buy the car that has the features you want not the features you're hoping to get which I agree with to a point. When a website says coming soon, especially with an electric car I don't expect weeks or even months, but we're closing in on two years and it's not even on the radar. I look at the hurricane that pummeled Florida a couple of weeks ago and one that's bearing down on them now and I'm thinking here in New Orleans that could just easily be me without power and I have a gigantic unusable battery sitting in my driveway and it's starting to piss me off honestly

Lucid would very much like to get V2H/V2G out too. It is not “on the backburner,” but in progress dealing with regulatory things, per my understanding.

Basically, Lucid is also not happy it is not out yet.

Oh that's good to know. Thanks! Any chance you know a way to use reward points to buy a new mobile charger since I already bought the V2V adapter and realized my charger doesn't support it. Sometimes I feel like it depends on who you ask in customer service as to what the answer is 🤪

I watched the videos of the 2 V2L adapters available for Hyuni, Kia. They are small, so I assume they just containg fusing, insulation, handshake and plug features, with the inverter function in the car. (Wunderbox) Thus, it should not be rocket science to get through UL Labs.

BUT, my guess is that most of Lucid's horsepower is now dedicated to getting the Gravity out.

That is a question for Lucid, not me, haha.

But if it’s not in the store, you should write to CS and request it.

I don’t know why V2L isn’t out yet; I also thought it would be close to V2V.

I would also like to use the credit for a mobile charger. I think my car had one on the list when I ordered it, but it seemed to have dropped off the list by now before it is delivered.

V2L should not require too much approval. For some (myself included) the ability to supply 30 amps of 120VAC, would be more than enough to keep the refrigerator and heat on (even more in my case since without the car I only use 5-6 kw-hrs per day).

The others I looked at only supply 15 A, but that is plenty for a Frig. and TV, and some LED lights, alternating with a microwave cooker.

I have an existing EVSE installed at home, so I wanted to use the charging accessory credit on a backup cable. I was able to apply the credit to the 2nd gen mobile charging cable and the rangexchange charging adapter.

Yeah...Kia/Hyundai/Genesis EVs come with V2L including the adapter. I haven't had to use it yet but plan to use it to keep my refrigerators going if I have a power outage.

hrmm, wouldn't let me do it when i tired a few months back and I bought the big charger that I didn't really need, but wanted to use the credit.

Now I'm wondering if I could have done it

NEED V2L

I note that for $100 - $250 (for Hyundi branded unit) the ICONIQ can provide 15 amps of V2L. That would be a super important feature for Lucid, especially for folks who dont have a Generac out back. Why is availability of this feature so slow??

If you're impatient waiting for V2L/V2H (like me), you can use Ecoflow batteries and adapters to get it working with the RangeXchange adapter and Mobile charging kit v2.
I don't know if it's worth the cost if you don't have an Ecoflow ecosystem already, but I already bought the batteries to help power our house when we lose power (thank you Centerpoint), which happens often enough. The "EVStream" adapter is compatible with RangeXChange and I was able to power my Ecoflow battery at 3.5-4 kW charging speed. Unfortunately, Ecoflow batteries cannot accept 240v input and output 240v split phase at the same time, but it's still a good way to then power your house or other loads after topping up the battery.

Hyundai's solution works fine -- for very small level stuff. Running a refrigerator or two. We've used my wife's Ioniq 5 to run our network closet and a large freezer during a couple of power outages. We also have 40kWh of backup batteries (Enphase) in the house, but using my wife's car takes a bit of the load off of those. The real win is when you can get access to a lot more amps...then a big car battery can really pay dividends and save folks from needing a backup generator. We built (and live in) a Net Positive Energy Home, so I am pretty well versed in this stuff and, hopefully, Lucid will do a real, high-level implementation of V2L that we'll be able to tie into our Enphase system.

If you want to know more about our home and its functionality, we do have a website:

But the “ICONIQ” (which I also own) doesn’t do V2V. Why is availability of this feature so slow??

I agree with your comment. Why is V2L so slow to arrive?? At Ioniq's prices it should be an easy sale.
Where do they plan the 900 V DC to 110 VAC inverter function - In the wunderbox or the external adapter?
