Weird... who did you speak to? I spoke to Frank and scheduled for a few weeks in the future based on my availability. I am not considering a move to Grand Touring.

Gabi. Going back and forth with her now, she wasn't aware of this at all and is apparently looking into it.

Weird, she said her manager told they aren't doing them for Touring res holders yet, but they'll make an exception. They're waiting on a production Touring for general test drives.

This makes the most sense anyways. I would understand if you were on the fence about upgrading, but for those who are steadfast on Touring, why test drive a car that is a spec above? Should really wait for a Toruing model to test drive.

Spec'd out Touring = Grand Touring without massage seats/thigh support.

Well, there's the horsepower difference, but yeah. Keep it in smooth, and you get the basic idea.

Isn't the battery pack smaller as well? The handling would be different. As well as the rear foot well no?
 
I imagine there will be some folks who refuse to confirm until they test an actual Touring, but I don't see why Lucid would want to wait until then to start letting people confirm with just a GT test drive.

Nothing significant enough to prevent Touring reservation holder to test drive a GT. Visibility, head room, etc should be similar enough. Just tell them they'll get less miles and keep them from doing launch mode (or don't.. may help with upgrades).

Makes no sense to prevent people from test driving, especially at Oak Brook since they told me they are wide open in slots.

That would be me! Don't want to drive a spec that isn't what I ordered, it would be too tempting to upgrade...

Right. They shouldn't prevent anyone by limiting it, just explain the differences and say that's on you, the consumer to, ya know, familiarize yourself with the car you will be buying.

And this may be yet another way that I get "bumped" up the reservation line with my Touring. Wanting all the upgrades, picking colors that have been known to have shipped, 19" wheels, and now being willing to confirm without a Touring test drive might just get me my car sooner than anticipated.

(Let me dream.)

That does beg an important question, though. They have to actually ship silver cars at some point, right? We've seen a few hit the lot, but none reported delivered by members here.

Either there are very few silver GTs reserved, or Lucid is going to have to play some serious catch-up with those reservations.

Unless, by some odd coincidence, most Silver reservers also want 20" wheels?

Strange. I was not asked about that, and my appointment is on Friday in NJ. The person I spoke to even said something to the effect that their demo car is a GT but mine will look quite similar.
