My biggest issue that has come for me with 1.2.17 is that if you drive over 85 mph and wearing sun glasses, you keep getting dinged with the errors that you are not watching the road, or pay attention. It doesnt happen if I remove my sunglasses. Not sure , why they would add this in. I turned on off those warnings in the DreamDrive settings and all seems to be good for now.
Polarized lenses, and add a second facial recognition profile; that fixed it for me.

This sucks. As much as I love my car, I would be pretty damn upset if my experience were yours. I would really try to get them to do a swap; my car has had ~none of your teething issues. Sure, I have the occasional software freeze or glitch, Tidal cuts out, and A/C will cut out for 5-10 seconds before turning back on (only since 1.2.10), but none of that is particularly important. The hardware has been flawless, as has the driving.

I say all of this not to say I don't believe you (I do!) but to say that I think you got some component that is a bum component. I would consider threatening lemon law and seeing if you can get them to swap instead.

In order to be able to trace a bug in the logs, they need to have been logging for that particular thing in the first place. For example, they might log crashes, but may not be logging specific memory leaks if they don't know about them, and it's not like there is some 'master log' of every single thing that had ever occurred, because that would get very massive very fast.
They seem to imply that they have logs for every car because they asked me to report an issue the minute it happens so they can look it up using a time stamp. Disk Space is cheap these days and they only have no more than 2K Cars out there. Maybe they keep a weeks worth or just a couple of days. Again as you said it may be for components that they already know may have issues and not every item.

I have reported that ever since 1.2.10 in my case the backup Camera on the console does not work more than 50% of the time. I understand patience but who has that these days lol. Sometimes it comes on once I X out and press park again and sometimes it just does not until the next time I need it.

Going with the Wife and being stranded would be a dangerous scenario for me 😂😂😂

He may be like me, at age 57 you have driven many more years without any tech than with. I remember I thought I was the end all be all when I had a CD player in my car. Especially one that didn't skip when you hit a bump! 🤣

Yeah, I gotta figure this out. I have spent over $13,000 on radar installation and ceramic coating on this car, and I particularly love the Santa Monica interior which may no longer be available. And I'm so happy with everything else about this car other than the constant software issues. So I'm still really looking more for a reason to keep it than to swap it or leave the brand. But with every new software burp, I'm moving further toward the dump-it end of the scale.

Interesting you mentioned the AC cutting out issue. I had it happen to me a few times and I reported it. Unfortunately Fall is around the corner and AC may be less of an issue but plan to keep pushing them on it.

I have not driven the car enough after they recycled the AC until this Tuesday to notice any difference.

🤞🤞 I have not faced any major Battery issues except the first week they had to jump it while it was at the PPF place and just up and died because they had the car in the shop for 3 days without operating it.

Should be a way to recharge the battery by just turning the Car On for a few minutes. I do not recall reading that as an option. I think someone said it recharges during Regen or while Driving.

I have put my cars on a trickle charger when not being driven every day maybe they need to come up with a way we could do that.

Has anyone taken a photo of how to jump the battery and where exactly is it located. I feel it could be helpful.

Trickle charging can damage Li-Ion batteries, so careful about that.

They always ask me the same thing.

Santa Cruz is probably going to be your closest match. I’d start the Lemon Law discussion with them but maybe push to be an early candidate for 2.0 software. Who knows, it may stabilize things.

Is there any suggestion from participants that later deliveries are less buggy?

The software is just buggy in general and appears to be just random when things happen or don’t happen. Definitely has improved though.

I will say though, for any issue we see it should be reported to Lucid with as much information as possible with pics, videos etc. it’s even easier to do now that you can text them from the app. With a whole bunch of examples I sent this morning over EA and EVGo chargers stats/availability it seemed to finally click with them what the issue was vs me last time saying “the charger stats are wrong” and nothing really changing. They’re contacting EA and EVGo along with passing the issue to the navigation team to hopefully resolve in a future update.

Oh, I'm certain they can 'turn on logging' remotely; but they still have to know what to log.

Most logging systems have different log levels; for example, INFO would be one, and would log generic informational things ("tidal turned on", "A/C set to 75", etc.) and DEBUG is usually another one, which logs significantly more stats for each thing being logged. Likely what they're doing is turning on a "lower level" of logging (aka INFO to DEBUG).

But the code still needs to actively choose to log things, which it may not be doing *everywhere*

I think I can handle the occasion or even frequent software 'inconvenience' but bricking the car in bad situations is my major worry. I guess you need to drive it for a while to make sure it is distance travel worthy before attempting. Being stranded in Winnemucca would not be fun.

Hahaha……. True! That town was my rest stop when heading to the salt flats

This is exactly what I am doing. For the first few months, I am not going to stray too far from home, until I am completely comfortable with as much as possible and I have learned how to deal with issues that may or may not arise. Fortunately , I have a short work commute and other vehicles available. Each day I plan on learning a few new functions and then thinking of any possible scenarios that may arise.
This is my first time with such a technologically advanced car and it’s a bit intimidating for those of us who may not completely grasp tech like some of the folks in the forum ( I am envious of those fortunate souls) . Anyway, it’s kind of fun taking this approach as I use it as an excuse to go out and drive!! Last night I put it in sprint mode for the first time and floored it without warning my wife. That was AWESOME!!!!

Understood - understanding the software and trusting it is key. I think in the world of ICE we have all gotten used to the dependability of a good steed. We make 1200 mile trips 2x/yr and Im not sure the Lucid will make that trip for a while considering it is in the remote west. But the other issue I wrestle with is leaving it in a Scottsdale garage for months until we return. A bunch of first world problems, I know.

I totally get it. It’s my impression that most people have been successful on long trips . A colleague of mine flew down to Arizona to pick up his car and he came all the back to Idaho, mentally and physically in one piece, on his first drive. I think most people who have the car have similar experiences.

I guess using the expression my dad's always used:

My car must have been built on Wednesday.

Drive back from Millbrae 3,100 miles

Brave software testers one and all. But if you get stuck in Winnemucca or Baker; well....you cant prepare well enough.
