Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Touring

I have a pretty old order August 2021 and I got no email about production, no email to finalize.
My original order said no glass roof , no dream drive , and Mojave interior. Is this why I didn’t get the email?? Couldn’t I possibly change my options. I would have at least liked an email…
Im August 21 as well and I have a glass roof. I did not get an invite either

So far, they seem to have only gotten up to July 2021. So your invite should be coming next week. At least as far as we know.

It is odd you didn’t get the first email, though. Maybe check in with your DA about that.

I thought the reservation window opened in August or September of 2020. If you have a reservation from March 2020, how were you able to place it so early?

If that was a typo and your reservation was from 2021, I would have thought you'd get the email to finalize since others from July 2021 got the email. Please let us know what your DA said.
My reservation was placed in December 2019. Back before the grand reveal, the deposits were either for an Air or the launch edition. It wasn't until the reveal in September 2020 that you had to decide GT/T/P for the non launch (Dream) edition.

I would encourage everyone to look on the first page of this thread at the folks who have been confirmed so far. The latest reservation date seems to be July 2021. If you reserved after that, don’t panic if you haven’t been invited yet. They are doing these in batches, and they just haven’t reached you yet. Likely you will get asked next week if you are somewhere in 2021. Though, it’s possible there were far more reservation holders in late 2021, so it may not be that soon. Speculation is they are doing 1000 per week.

When you see two or more reservation holders who are confirmed on the tracker, whose reservation dates are later than you, then you should maybe reach out to be sure something isn’t wrong.

Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the show. We’ll all be getting the email “soon.”

Quick question for everyone getting their Touring

So according to an earlier reply, Highway Assist will no longer be offered with people who don't have Dream Drive.

But what about resale-ability of the Lucid if you don't get Dream Drive Pro?
Ultimately I think I want to sell or trade in my Lucid and get a Gravity when it releases.

With that being said, what does everyone think about biting the bullet and getting Dream Drive Pro for the sole purpose of future reselling? Or do you think it won't be that big of a deal?
Yes. This was under consideration when I chose it. I'm all about maximizing my resale value. DDP has some other features that I liked tho like the 360 camera view. Vanilla DD doesn't include this option.

Other than the autonomous driving features of Dream Drive Pro, and Blind Spot Assist, what other features will DDPro add on top?

360 view? Anything else?

And I I asked my SA to verify, and he was sure Highway Assist was in DD cars and that Pro wasn't a requirement. He said he'll investigate by Friday. I told him that for me it's an important feature to have and so I'm not finalizing until I know the truth behind that feature. So we'll see what happens.

As for resell, you're right that I probably won't get the 9k back. When it comes to financing, an additional 10k when you're already spending 103k or so will probably be negligible on the monthly payments anyways. And now here comes the whole tax rebate thing.
If we can get the rebate, that'll definitely help make the car cheaper.

I also noticed the 3k+ delivery fee, which I thought I remember someone from Lucid telling me delivery was free. I keep seeing conflicting info
$3K delivery fee? Is this different from the destination fee? Mine is listed at $1,650 on my confirmed order.

"Destination" fee should be the fees for services done at the nearest service studio, including all the license and documentation paperwork and any payments, preparations and handling they have to do. "Delivery" in this context should be for transporting the car to your home, if you've chosen that, and sending a delivery specialist to your home to familiarize you with your car and walk you through the inspection and finalize documents. There's a big difference between the costs to the studio of having someone there to do this when you arrive, and you taking care of the transportation home, versus transporting it to you (perhaps hundreds of miles away) and potentially flying someone out to go to your house and do the final work there. Thus the extra fees.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. At this writing, my closest Studio is Tyson's Corner VA which is 123 miles away. There is a rumor that King of Prussia is getting a Studio by the end of the year. King of Prussia is 92 miles away. How does Lucid determine pick up or home delivery -- mileage from the nearest studio? Final question, if the studio is more than 100 miles away, if home delivery still an added cost?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer on this.

It was no typo. I have been a LUCID enthusiast well before LUCID became, what is known today as.. LUCID. The reservation window opened [officially] for all trims in Jan '20, and earlier than that for those reserving the DE. In addition to reserving my Touring in Mar '20, I also reserved my wife's Touring in Sept '20 (as it would be wrong to not share mine with her, so I reserved twins).
Although location has little to do with place in line, I reserved mine online at home [here in the Phoenix market] and reserved hers while visiting the LUCID Design Studio in Beverly Hills, CA.
So this waiting period has been a long time 'patiently' waiting and hoping to verify ..once our cars went into production, whether there were a few ahead of us or what our place in line was.
Our two Touring editions are configured identically with the exception of interior/exterior color [see above for details]. Hope this sheds light on how long some have been waiting.

Sorry, I have no insight on how they price home delivery. Seems like a good question to pose to a Sales Advisor. Drop Tyson's Corner a note (I don't see a phone number for them, but others on the forum may be able to provide it). I'm pretty sure that there's more to it than merely the number of miles from the nearest Studio, although that's certainly a factor.

Well you certainly seem like an OG I wonder what’s the deal. I wonder how they determined how to send out Touring production emails. Did you select any of the non listed options like metal roof?
As noted, aside from the Glass Canopy and Cosmos Silver (I like to refer to as Platinum), there weren't other [cost] options that I went with. The 20" rims weren't a cost upgrade and the other features are all standard for the Touring. So I don't suspect features or options had much to do with receiving an invitation to finalize pending orders and/or reservations. I say that, in part, because I reserved two Touring editions (one for my wife & I) and although we only converted one reservation [mine] over in Aug '22 for the tax credit, our place in line (and being notified) were both confirmed by our DA [last night]. However, neither my wife nor I received the invitation to finalize our orders via email [as did many of our forum cohort members]. So, although a bit confusing both my wife and I were able to finalize our orders via our [respective] LUCID accounts. In the end, we're both happy we're in the final stretch!

For the tracker ... (Pure) reservation 9/10/21, converted to order 8/13/22, converted to Touring (additional deposit) 10/19/22.
Cosmos Silver, Mojave, no Stealth, Metal, 19" wheels, yes Surround Sound Pro, yes Dream Drive Pro. California.

For the Tracker. My August 2020 Black Touring has the following finalized changes: added DDPro, changed to Tahoe interior from Mojave.

This is so exciting to see the Touring reservation owners finally get their invites to confirm orders. It was back in November last year that those of us early GT reservation holders got ours. Can’t believe it was now a year ago. While it took over 7 months for me from confirmation to order, I hope and believe that they will finally hit that 2-4 month timeline they promised back then (Providing it is in their production specs they laid out for the first ones). The ramp is real. The 2.0 UX is great. You guys will just LOVE this car. She is a blast to drive, comfortable, quiet, efficient with fantastic range compared to any other EV.

We will see a lot of positives at the earnings call in 12 days!

You're right, it was $1650.
I wonder if I can save that if I Just come pick it up and drive it back. However, i'd definitely want PPL before I do that, clear bra at the least for the front

Tracker Update: Reservation: September 20, 2021; Confirmation Date: I wish; User @Paul; Color: Grey (changed from red); Interior: Tahoe; No stealth; Glass roof; 19" wheels; Surround Sound Pro; DreamDrive Pro; State: CA

2023 availability on the DD standard. Let's wait and see what else they other features are they going to remove as they go. Pretty upset especially that their announcement on 10/12/22 clearly states that highway assist is included with the standard Dream Drive.

Tracker Update: White, DDP, SSP, Glass, 19 inch, Tahoe.

Was on the fence on the DDP, but decided to pull the trigger based on conversation with sales rep: We are in a new queue for production, so while I initially reserved in 2020, I just confirmed today and am behind those that confirmed yesterday. He believes at this point I will get my vehicle before the end of the year. Regardless of me getting mine or not, it looks like many people will. Apologies if i repeated anything already mentioned
