Nevada

Hi @KenAir ,

I had mobile service for a very minor issue, my driver door handle started making a friction sound when unlocking.

I contacted customer care and they had the mobile service team reach out to me, within 48 hours. I suspect if it was a more serious issue they would have reached out sooner but I didn't mind in my case.

The mobile service team ask me what day and time would be convenient for them to come to my home to address the issue.

They arrived on time, were extremely kind and professional, and took care of the handle sound.

Separate topic... If we setup a Lucid meetup, would you like to participate?
That's reassuring about the service! I have had zero problems so far, but wanted to know I can get service if needed.

Yes, I would like to participate. Maybe we can do a breakfast or lunch sometime?

The service team here has been absolutely outstanding. They are always on point and on time. All my repairs were completed within a day or two and I hope it stays that way so I never have to rent a car.. They do not have loaners yet. Not sure if they ever will in the foreseeable future. They are all knowledgeable but I think Kyle is the the most technical. Ely is more on the logistics side and Daniel I think is mostly admin. I've only seen Daniel once on a service call. Supposedly, they have been asking the higher ups for more people and a service center here.

Thanks for the feedback!

A service center and a studio would be fantastic.

Think of all the publicity and awareness a studio would generate here on the strip with all the tourists. Put the studio in an update casino mall.

@Achilles - Welcome and feel free to post in this "Nevada" forum for all local conversations, referrals, & questions

For those that want PPF and tinting I DO NOT recommend Dipped Auto in Vegas. Subpar work on my Lucid.

I echo that, along with my BIL. I've only had one 5-minute issue while he's had the tech over a half-dozen times. Superb service. For PPF, Xpel on W. Sunset did a great front package for me.

Is that Bryan? I just spoke to him today ;-)

My Lucid is already XPEL tinted and PPF'd but I'm considering some XPEL Prime Plus for my wife's car

Wish I could remember but the sum total of my experience with Lucid service was a 5-minute replacement of a broken clip on the headliner. Knock on wood, the car has been flawless.

Hey @emoylv,

My question for Brian was on your XPEL service near Sunset. Did you go to a place called SmartFilm? I may use them for my wife's Accord.

No, I went directly to the XPEL place. Ask for Jeremy. He treated me really well.

Nevada Lucid Owners and Lurkers,

I have added a poll to help us get started planning our first Lucid LV Meetup!

I invite you to help determine a good date and to provide any comments and feedback in the thread, which is called "Planning First Las Vegas Meetup"

The thread is conveniently located here:

I would also like to extend an invite to all of our great Admins, as I know some of you are not too far and hoping you'll consider making the trip.

@Adnillien - AZ to LV is an nice trip if you're up for it and available
@Bobby - San Diego is not that far away if you are available and interested
@borski - hopefully you're not in Iceland at the time :)
@hydbob - you were just here, so maybe a repeat visit?
@Joe - Texas is a bit far, so maybe we Facetime you in?
@joec - Boulder is also a bit far, but are you overdue for a visit to LV is the question :)

Seriously, if any of the Admins can make it, we would appreciate it!

I have family in LV, so if I can make it I will try.

With the upcoming ambient heat of 110-118F this week, i was wondering if anyone is considering adding A/C to their garage, to better protect the HV battery?

I installed a split unit 4 years ago. I shopped around first but most AC companies quoted on the high side for a 18000 BTU then I ran into "Mr. Cool" and it's a DIY unit. It's very easy to install but you'll need the help of an electrician. My only advise is however you do your calculations to find out the BTU you need. go higher! I wish I installed a 32000 BTU versus the 18000.

Was it an Infinite Black Touring by chance ?

Do you cool down below 85-90 degrees? I was thinking I'd probably not need to go below this temp.

I have a 24K BTU Samsung split unit which is more than sufficient for our 3-car garage here in Az.
I set the temp between 82 and 86, running after 7 p.m. until the morning.
The unit is turned off during daytime because the wires run through the attic , which can be quite hot. This may not be necessary, just abundance of caution on my part.

Welcoming @hitman to our local community. 👍
