Today Lucid announced that Lucid Gravity is gaining access to the Tesla Supercharger network beginning January, 31, 2025. Read our press release to learn more. We’re working to enable Lucid Air owners to have access to the Tesla Supercharger network in Q2 2025. We’ll share further information, including the exact dates and practical details, once it is available.

Exciting to hear about more broad charger access for the Gravity and Air. Judging from the way the Gravity achieves its fast charging speed, it seems that we should temper our expectations for the Air's relative degree of improvement, but any significant boost to the current 50 kW max will make these chargers a much more viable alternative. Working with Tesla on their part of the bargain, I can't wait to see what the innovators at Lucid can do to max the Air's charging performance on these Superchargers!

Battery pack splitting.

Gravity will be my first ev.
I have to say, it's been fun learning all the tech associated with EVs.
I kinda kinda understand most of it, but ... .

Check out the OoS Podcast on Gravity Charging Performance, posted here.

I meant to add... I hope that Lucid's Q2/25 roll-out of optimized Supercharger access for the Air will include some definitive word on what to expect, if anything, about Lucid-branded (or at least certified) CCS to NACS adapters.

Ok so we have no idea if the max will remain at 50kW??

Speaking from the cheap seats... I have to believe that there will be a significant improvement. First off, I wonder if the current 50 kW max isn't just a software-driven limitation by Tesla. Working with them to remove such restrictions, if any, would I hope open the door to Lucid and Tesla collaborating to achieve even further improvements.

Wow, take my money.
  • 200 miles in less than 12 minutes (this is the same performance they advertise for the Air)
  • CCS1 to NACS and SAE J1772 to NACS adapters are also included with the Lucid Gravity
  • CCS1 adapter is the first rated to charge at 500A with 1000V (means full charge rate on CCS1 chargers)
  • capable of bi-directional charging, supporting up to 80 A at 19.2 kW with the NACS charge port

"NACS adapters are also included with the Lucid Gravity, and the CCS1 adapter is the first rated to charge at 500A with 1000V. The adapter enables charging at up to 400 kW through the standard NACS connector in Gravity with a CCS1 connector at a fast charger."

That's impressive. I don't think any adaptor on the market today goes about 150kW.

The Tesla adapter is 250kW but only 500V.
Heat is a function of current (Amps) so the Tesla adapter would actually get hotter.

Like I’ve been saying for months! Gravity would launch with NACS access 🙌. Way to scare me into thinking we’d all be living in adapter-hell guys 😂😂

Access to Tesla Supercharger Network Without Adapter

Lucid Group announced that its newly launched Gravity SUV will gain access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network in the United States and Canada starting Jan. 31. With a built-in North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, the Gravity SUV eliminates the need for an adapter to connect to Tesla’s chargers.

If you want to use a CCS charger, you still need an adapter.
Yup true. But The consensus from most people was that Tesla would not grant Lucid access in time to Superchargers so the Gravity would have never forced to use an adapter at CCS chargers. That would’ve been insanity if it happened

I'd have no problem with using an adapter, but if it allows you to maintain sanity, I'm happy for you.
