Gravity Features

Just wondering out loud here: Will the Gravity come with an NACS mobile connector, or will it include a J1772 mobile connector with an NACS adapter for compatibility?"

Saw a post on Reddit that the standard features are now shown in the configurator.

It helps, but also just reinforces the fact that I suffer from FOMO when it comes to car options. :)

The Dynamice Handling Package (DHP) has 3-chamber air suspension versus single chamber as standard.
DHP has rear wheel steering; standard doesnt.
Am I really going to driving this thing deep into corners like they did during the Tech & Mfg. Day? Nope.
FOMO is the cousin to "More Is Better". "Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it" is also a family member.:)
Just being honest with myself.

I'm definitely a sucker ... I mean fan for the Tech package; AR HUD.
The more tech, the better.
And yet the reasonable side of me whispers "More tech or moving parts, the more that can go wrong".

The winning voices say "You're paying $100K+, is an extra $3k really gonna hurt? No." and "If you don't, you'll always wonder what the drive feels like".

Fortunately my FOMO is not bad enough for me to pay an extra $15k for more range and hp.

That's probably because FOMO is countered by the reasonable voice that says "Peter said they know they need to work on quality, so give them time to do that and be patient enough to wait for a Touring version".

Makes sense. Done! :)

Completely reasonable. Wish I knew what being that reasonable felt like. 😆

I'd get the Handling Package just for the rear wheel steering, for parking lot maneuverability.
It's interesting that Android Auto isn't on the list yet.

Hopefully that does not mean it can only charge 1 Phone, but rather that there is a single (large) charging pad that can charge more than 1 phone.
I'd venture that it's one phone.

True. Especially since it's coming to the Air within the next 19 days (end of fall). :)
We shall see. I have my fingers crossed for all of you Android folks. Must admit, I love my car much more with CarPlay than the native UI.

Question about adjustable ride height with the air suspension. I want to make sure my expectations are reasonable:

From what I've read and seen (YouTube), an air suspension allows for improved handling dynamics like cornering, steering, agility, stability, etc.
A contributing feature of the air suspension is the adjustable ride height, as shown on the Gravity web page.
It also allows for different drive modes (smooth, swift, and sprint) also shown on the Gravity web page.

The initial transition from the road to my driveway is somewhat steep. Just at the entry point.
It's my understanding that the ride height adjustment is automatic, based on road conditions and other factors, but can be manually adjusted.

Should the Gravity sense the change in slope as I enter my driveway and automatically adjust the ride height to avoid scraping the lower front area or will I need to manually adjust before entering my driveway?

My wife learned that the tailpipe on her car will scrape a little if she enters at the wrong angle and I know I'll find out for sure through experience, but again just trying to set expectations and avoid any scraping ... ever.

I suspect you’ll need to manually adjust it (via software of course, not a wrench)

But that is only a guess.

I imagine Gravity would lower its ride height automatically at freeway speeds for efficiency. But for higher-than-normal ride height, you'd need to press a button.

Anyone care to explain to me what a "Self-Healing Map" is? Lol

Also, I assume SiriusXM will be in the Gravity thought there's no mention of it. I was hoping for an actual satellite antenna this time around rather than just cellular.

And Android Auto? No *official* mention here. :-(

And from the details on the Dream Drive section: What is "See-through Vehicle Display"?

A HUD

That had crossed my mind but the feature is listed under the Dream Drive Pro and is independent from the HUD option in the Tech Package. I'm wondering if it's more like this:

(at 1:00 into the video).

"For a map to update fast enough to guide autonomous cars, it needs input from as many sources as possible, as quickly as possible. That’s why the HERE HD Live Map combines sensor data from a variety of sources and multiple car manufacturers across the globe. The more manufacturers share sensor data with HERE, the more reliable the map guiding your cars will be."

I don't know, but it may just be an in-glass HUD without a separate projector, similar to this:

By laminating a thin-film transparent display in glass, the information can be shown directly on the windshield without any extra setup.

Very cool. I want it.

Probably means $2k+ to replace the windshield.

The quote I got for a windshield replacement (metal roof) was $3000 from the authorized shop. The shop I have used in the past can not procure a windshield so ...

For Gravity Its not in glass display like above. Its HUD display like in any other car, but Gravity has it bigger and more advanced.
