I think people want the company to provide more realistic timelines. I don't think anyone wants a half-baked car.
In theory, of course. Most definitely.
In practicality, that's where Catch 22 comes into play.

One person's realistic timeline is another person's totally unrealistic timeline.
And what happens when whatever timeline provided comes and goes?
Doesn't matter to some if it was realistic if it wasn't met.
How far past half-baked; 75% baked, 85% baked, ... ?
What does 75% baked look like? Depends on the customer.
Differing expectations in that baking.
