Getting Android Auto into the Lucid

When you load autokit, click on the settings icon in autokit, and select auto load.

Thanks for answering. I was going to as soon as I got home. Actually, I was going to take a picture, but was having trouble finding that menu again.
@geosynch, it is always starting on it's own now. But... it does have to load the device first, so it's not as fast as the native Lucid screens.

Got it and done. Thanks to you both!

I hadn't realized if you let the settings icon elapse with the splash screen, you can get back to that particular configuration.

With some help from some forum friends, we are able to reliably get Android Auto in the car with a little workaround. Credit to @Bocabob for testing and @LucidDropkick for the guide and flowchart.

To achieve Android Auto in the Lucid you will need to purchase the following:

CarLinkit AI Box

Other AI boxes may work, this tutorial is specifically this product. The box runs through WIRED CarPlay.

Plug the unit into the car, either USB port should work, but this is being written running it through the USB-C. First boot will take a long time (several minutes).

It'll be recognized as a CarPlay device by Lucid. It should auto-open, if not, open from Lucid Home screen. You can enable CarPlay in 2 different places as shown below:

Next you should see the loading screen for the box is shown as such:

The screen now shows you some interface options. You don't have to touch anything. It will automatically size the screen to fit the Lucid screen.
This thing is awesome. I ordered a cheap monthly data plan for it via Visible wireless and ordered a 512GB microSD card.

I couldn't find the answer, so I thought I'd post here and tag some people who have been informative in the thread.

I have bought the AI box in the thread:

And It works great when it works, but when I leave the car and come back, it will just say "waiting" and my phone will try and say "looking android auto devices" when I turn on Bluetooth but even though the Bluetooth is paired to the "TBox Ambient" device or whatever, I can never get it to connect unless I unplug, and replug in the AI box, and turn off my Bluetooth, and turn it on after a few minutes, or reboot my device completely.

I have a Google Pixel 7 Pro that's rooted

Some things I have tried to get it to work
1) Find Android Auto in my apps list, force quit, clear cache, turn off bluetooth, wait 2 minutes, turn it back on (this is sometimes successful and will connect, but sometimes it will not)
2) Reboot device, unplug and plug in AI box, wait few minutes, turn on Bluetooth
3) sometimes multuple reboots and unplugging and replugging the device just do not work..

Any advice on making it more, consistent? It's frustrating messing with the device for minutes when I should just have to get in and go and have it connect.

I have this working wonderfully with this box https://a.co/d/0kSzihf but I can't figure out how to get the steering wheel mic button to trigger Google instead of the car's Alexa. Any tips?
From what I read, and what I remember trying, holding the Mic button will use Google, whereas pressing it does the "Hey Lucid"

my initial thought is that it has to do with CarPlay acting weird recently. Since the AI box is emulating CarPlay that would be my guess. I would remove it completely from the CarPlay list and start over like you just got it and see if that fixes it.

I have a pixel 8 pro and receive the waiting message quite frequently but toggling Bluetooth on and off on my phone has fixed for me and haven't had to restart the AI box.

I've noticed significant improvement, I'm not sure what I did differently. But I think it has to do with the wifi. I used to turn the wifi off because as of a couple months ago, some update has made it so my Lucid no longer works on wifi, I have to get off the wifi to use the app. Super weird. But android auto transfers data over wifi, and so I think that may have been it
