Charger FAQ/Explanation

The scheduled charging sets the start time only. Once the car stops charging at the charge limit as long as the cable remains plugged in, the car does not look at the charge start time and schedule charging again. Hence, when you wake it up with the app or a nearby key, it will start charging to bring it back up to the charge limit. I wish it would reset the schedule and go back in a charging scheduled state but it does not.
Understood. Is that good for the battery or should I be unplugging when it's done charging?

What is a lot? Anytime I leave the car plugged in overnight, I get one or two messages that the car topped off. What is the actual service update that you got for this issue?
I was getting 30-50/day. Not normal. It was fixed at the Natick MA Lucud service center. My advisor was Danny - he is still there as I texted with him recently. I was not the only one experiencing the issue when I brought it in, but it was not a widespread issue. Tge fix was “in the cloud” and not software resident in my car, as I recall.

I now have a 3 months history of electric bills and I am startled. The Lucid shows 500kw consumption. My electric bill shows an increase of 1022 kw compared to last year for the same period. Of course there could be other reasons for the increase but nothing has changed other than the EV. The increase is all in the off peak usage and that is when I charge the car. I charge at home with a 60 amp circuit and the car charges as expected. I am in the process of sizing a solar system and I now don't know what I need. Any help where to find the loss or if this is normal would be appreciated.

I assume that you mean kWhr and not kW. In general there will be a 10% to 15% charging loss for conversion of AC to DC and losses within the car. If the car consumed 500kWhr, I would expect the total usage on your electric bill to be no more than 575 kWhr. I think that there is something else is driving your increased energy usage.

The Air uses about 0.25kWh to 0.3kWh per mile driven. Multiply those numbers by the miles you drove, and add 10% for charging losses, to get a rough idea of how many kWh your home charging used.

Thanks, I just took the kwh of the screen, so I know what the car used. It is just such a huge coincidence that my off peak usage went up so dramatically once I started charging the EV. Bill below goes from middle of the month, so March 2025 is the first bill with the EV. I came home with 95% charge and had it at service where I received another 35kwh. If I add this to the March consumption it will increase to over 800 kwh, like April.
