Air Dream Deliveries?

Depressing day in that most of us are not getting our Lucid Air Dreams until next year. Cars are "missing a part"
Received my VIN number 18 days ago. Delivery date notice since then -- crickets.

The VIN notice came with the text: "Dream Edition Lucid Air with .... has completed production and we plan for you to take receipt of the vehicle at ..... before the end of the year."
So, perhaps in the next two days? :)
No report of any "missing parts."

Sounds like the supply chain issues are hitting Lucid. Now I know why my DA told me that it might be early Q2 now for my GT, or an extension to 3-5 months from 2-4

DE is 520, the 577 assumed 57 GT.

57 is an odd number to have predicted several months ago for GT production.

I had been thinking that 520 Dream Editions were cars to be sold to retail customers, while 57 additional Dreams were being built for company directors, senior executives, and major investors who I was told were being given complimentary cars.

My car is "waiting on a part" and will be at least the second week of Jan at this point it sounds like.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know how frustrating the wait has been.

I called my DA. He is unsure of the status of my car. ‍♂️ I told him “I get it if there are delays especially in our current environment. I just think the communication I have received could have been a lot better” etc. I get it he doesnt know or cant say more but still

I hope you get your car in the next couple of days, but . . .

Have you received the slew of documents to execute via DocuSign and/or the request for payment?

I got the call on Monday, December 27 that our car will be delivered this Friday, December 31. I don't know about others who have already received their cars, but it seems they do a little homework before actual delivery. For instance, the guy who is going to deliver my car had already checked my house on Google Earth to see what the access would be for the truck, he wanted to know about internet and cell phone connections (we live in a fairly remote area), and he wanted to know if I would have the account information and passwords on hand for anything that I wanted to connect to the car (Amazon Prime, Spotify, Tidal, etc.). When he heard I wanted Tidal but was not yet a subscriber, he recommended I open an account by tomorrow so that I could set it up in the car while he was here, just in case there were any hitches.

I have to say, I was very impressed by this level of preparation.

There were 98 cars at Lucid this morning at 10:01 AM. Bear's did a fly over this afternoon wit 90 cars. Notice the section that Bear's shows 24 cars while my photo shows 36. Also note the different car hauler.

Hey, the "Just Born Car" must be mine, since they are doing a delivery TOMORROW, Thursday, 29-Dec-21. They called to make sure I would be available. Waiting for the Delivery Specialist to call and do a final confirmation for time. They said that it wouldn't be much time from the time the car leaves the production facility to delivery.

Excellent. Let us know how it goes!

Actually, I just checked the AZ online MVD page and the car is already titled under my name and has been assigned a permanent license plate. This was done back on 15-Dec-21 about the time I sent back the paperwork and had paid. So as far as the MVD is concerned, I have been the owner of this car for 2 weeks+. If this were 30+ days, I would get a nasty letter from the MVD telling that I have no insurance on the car (in AZ your existing insurance covers new cars for 30 days) . Lucid also only got me 1 year of license plates/registration, although I requested 5 years. In AZ the cost is about $60/year. Luckily I'm grandfathered in now and can just renew for about $300 for 5 more years.

Wow, you can purchase license and registration 5 years at a time...that's amazing

Congratulations for being Titled, now I hope you can actually drive it soon. Best of Luck

Here are the fees from the MVD site. I now have to wait till next year to renew:

Below are the estimated renewal fees for the 2022 LUCID AIR SERIES.
Registration PeriodFees
1 Year$66.29
2 Year$115.13
5 Year$221.92

I'll end up paying $3,000+ for one year of registration in Colorado.

The rates in AZ are for EVs. These rates are valid until the end of this year, at which point you are grandfathered in. The rates go up next year, but are still below the regular car rates. If this were a gas car, it would be about $1700/year in AZ based on retail cost. Doesn't Colorado still do the generous EV rebate program?

Congrats on your car Alex! You are one of the first AZ Lucid owners I know, I would like to let you know I am part of a Facebook group for Arizona Lucid Owners and Enthusiasts and hope you can join and share your experiences:

Yes, you get about $2500 back as a tax credit. The registration is based on MSRP and slowly decreases over time based on the original model year. But my Lucid GT will easily be in the $2000-$3000 range for the next 3-5 years. You also have to pay an extra $50 EV fee at registration each year that supposedly goes to support EV infrastructure.
