Grand Touring Deliveries?

Still waiting to hear if any VINs have been assigned for the early GT confirmations. Now looking as if February, 3 months post confirmation, is the earliest for deliveries, especially since they are still working through the Dreams. Has anyone from that first set of confirmations received guidance from their DAs?

I wrote about my latest update in the Dream deliveries thread the other day:

I spoke to my DA the other day after a few weeks of radio silence. I was told that I'm "in the first 200" confirmed GT orders (I hope so, as I was in the first batch of confirmation emails and my deposit is from 12/2019). The party line is that they're 'almost done' producing the DEs and should be changing the assembly line over to the GTs in the next few weeks. From there, it could be late February or early March before my car might be ready for delivery. He did say that the Quantum Gray shouldn't be delayed like the Zenith Red was for the DEs, but @hmp10 can tell you a similar story that we know wasn't true...

Bottom line: I'll believe it all when I see a VIN.

On Thursday, December 9th I received an email asking me to DocuSign some paperwork:

Soon after completing the signing, I was “invited“ to pay for my car. I‘ll be completing that on Monday, since I need to move the funds to one of the banks they support. After talking to my sales advisor, I found out that they have an AZ PDI location, but the Scottsdale sales center does not have the space/resources to do deliveries. They will be only doing home deliver for now. No firm time for my delivery, but it could be as soon as next week.

Interesting that they say the Arizona design studio doesn't have the space/resources to do deliveries. It is located inside the Scottsdale Fashion Square and there is a large and never filled parking garage attached to the mall. There are also five Lucid charging stations in the parking garage adjacent to the entrance closest to the design studio. Other than once seeing one of the preproduction cars being charged, I have never seen any cars at the charging location.

I was told that the intent is to do deliveries from the Scottsdale Service center when it opens. The design studio was not setup or intended for deliveries.

I think there are things that need to be done to the car when it arrives that require more of a service center than a parking garage. Also, I'm not sure they would want to leave new cars out in the open like that. I'd imagine that the service center will be open by the time your car is ready.

The service center is probably a few months away Looks almost done.

So just received a reply from my DA. According to her, Lucid is still committed to delivering the AGT within 4 months of the order date and she was confident that I should have an update or VIN "very soon" (Right.... where have I heard that phrase before?). My AGT order was confirmed on 11/30 so there are two waves or order confirmations before me (11/2 and 11/16). That means that those customers should be hearing something. If they have not heard anything, I figure I am still at least 1 month away. The 11/2 confirmations will be at the 3 month mark next week, which means deliveries *should* start for AGTs in late February. Have any of you early birds had some updates?

All is quiet on the western front here... Confirmed in the first wave.

Well, I got the email to confirm my order on 11/15 and actually confirmed it on 11/17. Have not heard anything other than the standard "2-4 months".

I heard March to May from my DA when we spoke about a month ago. Confirmed in mid-December. As they’re still trying to work through the first 500+ cars, I don’t see how May would be possible for the fourth or fifth AGT wave. It is what it is.

Confirmed 11-15. No updates from my DA.

I was confirmed around the same time and got mid-Feb to mid-April, but have alway considered that to be unrealistic. I'm betting mid-may delivery at this point but I'm in no rush.

At the rate of current production the dreams will still be coming off the line or just wrapping up around then. They need to then get the line ready for the AGT so I think she's just blowing smoke up your a**. I don't see any AGT's showing up until March. April at the earliest and I think that's a stretch at this point.

I get they're having production issues but what's annoying is Peter was mouthing off about how they're going to do it better and not have all these issues like you know who and kept repeatedly throwing shade at them. Now they're experiencing the same issues what does he say? Nothing!!

I am not in a rush either given that I would rather wait an extra month or two and get a car that works with minimal frustration, especially given that any trip to a Service Center for me is probably a multi-week event given the 1200+ mile roundtrip to the nearest service center. Given that, I will tolerate OTA software updates much better than hardware issues.

Not meant to be a jab or an indication that I have blinders on, but what would Peter say now concerning the statements from earlier? They haven't delivered their quarterlies and less than a month into the year is too soon to write off (publicly) the delivery goals. Missing 520 will take/is taking a hit, but the goals are annual, so not getting started on AGTs on time is something he won't really comment on until at least the earnings call. And he's definitely not going to say that they did it just as poorly as Tesla, nor would he have said earlier that they plan to do just as well as Tesla.

Same. Given I live in a city and have only a one car garage, I don't want to deal with sending the car back to Lucid for repairs if I could have had it in usable shape from the start of ownership.

I confirmed in mid December. Sales guy said 2-4 months. Then I spoke with the DA in early January. DA also said 2-4 months...from early January.

I get it. It's hard to know how long something is going to take if you've never done it before.

I bet if I asked my DA today what me timeframe is he would say "2-4 months"...

Yes, I heard the same thing from my DA a couple of days ago. I was speaking to the DA for the first time (15-min phone call) after being introduced over email. I had reserved my GT around mid-Nov and confirmed in early Jan.
