2.0.33

+1. This just started happening for me after the update too
I don’t think it was this update in particular. I’ve had sporadic issues with the reverse cameras for the last few updates. Sometimes they’re instantaneous and other times both screens are black or one screen is black. 90% of the time it’s the 360 screen that’s black but usually fires up when I’ve fully reversed out of the spot.

It’s almost like the cameras aren’t booting up as fast as the car now as I notice it most when I just get in the car straight away and whack it in reverse. If you fumble around in the car a bit before moving it’s usually fine.

Personally, these issues have existed around the cameras from day one and have drastically improved. The blank camera situation usually happens when activating shortly after turning on the car aka backing out of a parking spot when you need them.

Trip Report: Half a trip with 2.0.33. Got the update while in San Francisco on a visit. Couldn't load our luggage in the car while the update was in progress, but that was okay, probably normal for the car to lock you out while it's updating. Previous update (?) had made the Nav stop working (unpleasant, since we needed it to get around and had to rely on my iPhone held by my wife while I was driving), so I was happy that the Nav worked again as we left town. But the Highway Assist came on whenever I tried to use Adaptive Cruise Control - yes, the dreaded Highway Assist with its attendant plethora of false alarms ("Pay Attention - Keep Hands on the Wheel!" even though my hands didn't vary from their normal 9 and 3 positions ; "Take Control!" even though I was in total control; and its herky-jerky steering, diving for an exit ramp then abruptly correcting itself, etc.). Tried to turn it off, but couldn't figure it out while driving. Noticed that the Speed Limit shown was 75 mph in a 55 mph zone - this kept up for 30 minutes until "New Speed Limit Detected" came on and it reverted to 65 mph in a 65 mph zone. We then stopped for lunch and charging at our normal half-way-home Electrify America, but all stations were busy - except, of course, for the one that was broken. Fortunately, the Lucid Air GT has a lot of range, so we skipped charging (yes, there was an EV Range station there also, but its cables don't reach our charging port no matter how close we try to park - and for added insult they charge you $1 just for trying). When we got back on the highway, I held the Dream Drive button down for a few seconds and Hallelujah! the Highway Assist reverted to Adaptive Cruise Control and behaved itself thereafter when I went in and out of cruise control. OK, you experts all know this, but I didn't realize that Highway Assist was the default setting for new users (or in this case for a user who just got 2.0.33). I now realize that Sirius FM was available for our ride home, but too late. It would have been nice. I did activate the seat massage feature for the passenger seat for my wife, and she greatly appreciated that.

OK, "Sirius XM" not "FM". Still would have been nice to listen to it.

I setup a new profile (my daughter) .. and the facial recognition was instantaneous. .. 👍

While driving (and testing SXM), the surround view came up on the pilot screen and camera rear view came up on the right cockpit .. I didn't touch anything and I was driving (forward) at the time. I closed it w/ the X on both screens and everything was fine after that.

First time for me (~1,350mi), not sure if it's a byproduct of 2.0.33 or not.

Has anyone else had that happen?
Same thing happened to me yesterday on one drive, bit not in any Of the several drives since.

I mean, I wouldn’t tie this to an ICE car preference or an “addiction”. I’m fairly impatient for CarPlay myself and consider it to be a #1 priority. Analysts and analytics already prove that it’s the most desirable feature in both ICE, PHEV, and BEV vehicles and makes or breaks purchases so no surprise here. Almost all OEM HMIs are frankly trash, including Lucid’s, and carry inferior software with heftier limitations and missing features. It’s unreasonable for anyone in here to say “I’m good” when it’s blatantly obvious their needs are subpar and very reasonable for the unknowing customers to get anxious when other features are releasing but not CarPlay. Either way it’s coming and doesn’t seem to be an empty promise and I’m very impatiently waiting on it.
Android here. What is great with Apple carplay? Seems like it has some fans, but why? Is nav that much better than Google maps?

I don’t care for SXM, but the biggest improvement I’ve seen this update is the improved facial recognition. All other updates would still result in the red X, it’s been accurate every time I’ve gotten in the car so far since the update 🤷‍♂️
Interesting. Opposite experience for me. Perhaps I need to re-register my face or do a hard reset.

Unfortunately this is not the case with me. It happened at the end of a 30 minute drive. I did a valet key reboot before the drive and I everything was fine, then when I got home and started parking in the garage, I got nothing for the front/rear cameras on the glass cockpit. 360 cameras were fine. This is a brand new issue for me. They have worked flawlessly for 2500 miles

A reset temporarily restores it, but it keeps recurring, so a reset does not fix it. Lucid's software team needs to do that. If you're preparing for a turn or a lane change for which you have to check your mirrors, having also to look to see if the turn signal responded to command is distracting . . . or worse.
Happened to me a couple of times.

It’s something with the car speaker/ audio system. Not the specific function you’re using.

As you noted, turn signal, radio, Bluetooth, tidal, etc. Also, all the audible warning stop working. Seat belt warning. Biggest danger has been loss of audio warning while using highway assist.

Happened to me today for the third time. At one point while using HA, the system stopped working. I saw the on screen warning when the system stopped steering. But with no audio warning, that’s quite dangerous.

Got home and installed the .33 update. We’ll see if it happens again. So far it’s happened on .24 and .28.

CarPlay offers a great deal more than Lucid ever will, especially to Apple users. I can't speak for Android users.

CarPlay integrates with Apple's calendar so when you make a change to the calendar on a Mac or iOS device, it sync's up. But it also anticipates. For example, if you put a meeting into your iDevice, and later get into the car, CarPlay can make assumptions based on your calendar and ask you if you would like to travel to where your calendar indicates, and then gives you current traffic conditions. And the GPS in CarPlay is crazy accurate and knows about such things as stop signs, traffic lights, accidents, slow traffic, closed roads, speed traps, red light cameras, etc. It also lets users reports traffic, the police, accidents, etc., like Waze does. And it is far more user friendly than any other NAV system I have ever seen, even to the point of telling you with easy language to "turn right at the third stop light", "turn into the parking lot on the right after the McDonald's," etc., instead of cryptic statements like "three quarters of a mile; 500 feet, etc."

And it offers a far better music app than anything Lucid offers. And it also works with Waze, Google Maps, etc. It also learns your daily commute, etc. And it replaces the mediocre telephone app in the Lucid. And you can send and receive messages, with CarPlay reading them to you and allowing you to dictate messages. It allows you to see your entire calendar as well, which includes stuff from your iPhone, computer, etc. CarPlay also tells users the location of charging stations, has stop overs, time saving detours, and more. It also reads the latest news from a ton of news sources. And it works with Sirius radio. Finally, the next generation CarPlay will pretty much replace all most of the functions currently on the Lucid dash.

I purchased my Lucid relying on Lucid's claim that the Lucid is CarPlay compatible. If Lucid were to drop CarPlay, I would sell the Lucid and buy from a company that included CarPlay (which is nearly everyone else).

Lucid has repeatedly said CarPlay is right around the corner, and even promises it in it documentation, so I am not concerned. But I just wish they would get on with it.

Besides my gripes with Tesla, for me this is THE reason to have this car over a Model S Plaid. Without it, the sales pitch diminishes quickly considering Lucid’s current growth fluidness.

I agree. I have had CaPlay on previous cars and have really come to appreciate it. I also understand when people say "what is so great about CarPlay." And while I try to explain it, it is actually something you have to experience. This is especially true if you are an Apple user.

However, I also get this: "On the one hand, Apple claims that 79 percent of people specifically want to buy a car that has CarPlay. And it is a key purchase driver. On the other hand, if Apple is the one that is controlling the way the consumer interacts with the car and the services that run the car, then that relegates the auto manufacturer to being a carriage builder."

Knowing Apple, I suspect that is their plan. I have no doubt Apple wants to dominate the entire market, and considering the quality and convenience of CarPlay, they might just get their way.

That percentage is not an Apple claim. It’s a JD Report that released it. Apple just used that as a number.

Since the last few updates we've also started having a problem with audio on cell phone calls. The audio sometimes comes only out of the front center speaker, and the voice sounds muddled and very far away. The problem comes and goes, and the 2.0.33 update did not rectify it.

For what it is worth, which is not much really, today I received a warning that my rear trunk was not closed. I was sure it was but checked. It appeared to be fine - no half closed, rattle, etc. I thereafter opened it and closed it again and the message went away. This is the first time I have ever experienced that. I am on 2.0.33.

And, don't forget the ability to share your trip w/ the folks you are meeting. .. I've found that function to be critical for lunch meetings and times when I've been stuck in traffic.

Also, as I've stated in other posts, the Lucid built-in navigation is awful and unusable for me .. I had it on for our trip back on Thanksgiving and my wife was literally yelling at it because the directions didn't make any sense (I was testing if traffic was any good, but ended up relying on the Apple Maps on the phone for that)

For the first time after the 2.0.33 the Cameras refused to work on multiple occasions so this problem is newer for me. Before this they did not work if you were too quick to put the car in reverse the camera would not work but now it did not work after waiting and also upon clicking the Park button as well. Hope they send another update soon to fox this.

I think when they added this SXM Beta, it feels like they went back to 1.0 virtual machine. My Alexa was temporary muted needed a reboot. I’m sure these are tiny bugs will be ironed out soon.
