Wind noise

I don’t think I’m imagining it - when I drive the car first thing in the morning, or when the rubber seals are cold, the wind noise above my left ear is more pronounced. When I’ve been driving the car under the sun for a little while, the wind noise dimishes to a faint whisper, only becoming pronounced again when I fly at speeds approaching 90 miles per hour and beyond. I presume the rubber seals have warmed up and expanded by then.

@Bobby recommended a fix that works temporarily. Rubbing all the seals with this German-made lubricant that comes in a small plastic bottle with a sponge tip. It does seem to help, but again, the fix is temporary. You have to reapply the lubricant after every time you wash the car.

I have this too. In the winter I also find cold air leaking when the seal is cold. When I leave my warmer garage the window is fine. After I leave my car outside all day at work in the 20's Fahrenheit and then drive home the top left corner of the drivers window leaks cold air. Almost certainly the same reason your wind noise. I may try this lubricant.

Yes, I hear it above my left ear and also in the upper window channel near the mirror. If I hold my hand near those spots, it's lessened. I have done decibel tests and its "acceptable" under the service protocol with Lucid around 44 to 55 decibels, which is considered normal for an ICE car. My car comes in at 44-46, so I understand them not being interested in this issue, however it's becoming less acceptable to me, and I will solve it. I have driven two loaners, one had no noise, the other GT had a window air leak on the left passenger side as well as a few dents, LOL.

The door calibration is a tricky thing with both Rivian's and Lucid, if they are off by a few microns it can cause this as well as the trim that is above the door and the ditch rails for the roof can do a tunneling effect if not secured properly with the claws. I will compliment Lucid for doing a great job on keeping road noise from the bottom of the car at a minimum, it's barely heard.
I have decided to try one more adjustment on the door with my certified non-Lucid company, they are learning too and I will report if it works.
Thanks for the reply. I've done the Gummi stick, no real improvement and I have seen YouTube MacGyver's using frost king weather stripping, but again if you paid this much for a premium luxury sedan, you should not have to do that.

Funny, this is pretty much the exact opposite of my thinking. I have a tendency to find ways to improve things, even expensive things, to meet my personal needs. “Should” they have made it quieter, sure. Did they, no. So complaining about it doesn’t solve it.

Technician has worked on my car few times. I still have the wind noice I decided to ignore it and I believe they need to address the design

The wind noise at 100mph is not what I expected, LOL... Drive it like you stole it, I feeling like I'm driving a bank vault in this car.

I found the solution for my wind noise in the car. I was trying different window seal strips 5/ 16 " fit pretty well in some of the wells around the door but it isn't the issue.
While testing the seal on the frame, I discovered that it wasn't properly seated in the track, by placing my fingers on the flat part inside the frame and pressing the outside, it snapped in. It is a noticeable decrease in the wind noise and it's only the mirrors producing the usual noise.I went around the car and made sure they were all pressed in,found it on the passenger side too..LMK if this works for you.

Could you insert a picture of where exactly you were doing this?

Could you provide more precise instructions please? I'd like to try this but which frame are you referring to? Window or body of the car? Photos would be appreciated.

Agreed, this would be helpful. From the written description I looked at my doors and had no idea what is being spoken of - couldn't find the relevant area. Is it the seal on the door or the body?

See attached. This was simple. I had been complaining about the noise for three service trips. The last time was a mobile visit for a tire, but nobody ever checked if the seals were actually seated properly. There are two separate tracks, one on the interior seal which is pushed up and the outside by pressing in. I have done decibel tests .it comes in at 44 on the low end and about 55 at the high end. That test has nothing to do with this seal, so Lucid has just glossed over my complaint, some noise is unavoidable, like the mirror, however that noise is less now too and is consistent with other cars.

I've made a couple of road trips to California since I received my car in early November. I've only driven it, not been the passenger. It seems to me that there is a rather significant level of wind noise coming from the driver side mirror. Does anyone else think so?
yes..i have same issue
