Thanks everyone who participated in our Lucid Audio Experience AMA on March 11:

It was a great experience for the team. We appreciated all your questions and learned a lot about what's on your mind regarding Lucid audio.

We are already looking to host our next one and would love to hear which topics you're most interested in. We'd also appreciate any feedback you have regarding the last one.

If someone has mentioned a topic you are interested in as well, please upvote the post by clicking the up arrow on the side. See the screenshot for an example.

2. Highway Assist / Driver Assist features - While I'm not on the DD Pro setup with LIDAR, I think I can safely say that the Driver Assist features on this car are relatively non-existent. My 23K Hyundai Elantra without any of the bells and wheels has more automated capability - lane centering being the big one. I think many in the rest of the community would like to know where the DD Pro features of coming. We're seeing China's BYD do some really impressive stuff on this front. It would be unfortunate to see Lucid fall further behind.
I have no idea what you're talking about. DD Pro has lane centering, and it works great; I use it all the time. If your vehicle isn't equipped with DD Pro, then you won't have lane centering, since you... don't have DD Pro.

I’d be very interested in the software roadmap for Air. It would be wonderful to do a deep dive on what the software team is working on, some sense of feature sets for upcoming releases and timing. Also, how much will the feature set between Air and Gravity be similar to/ different?

Hi

I think most of the comments about software safety, features / Ux or timeline,

I think we need to focus on software and the basic features that every owner needs to have. also lucid needs to open up the platform for developers with SDK, apps and etc

I am surprise there is no wash mode to cut electric inside the car for tinting and cleaning , wipers service mode, maintenance or general service mode and statistics about when the car is due for maintenance, warranty, battery health, log page for alerts and etc

Also it will be great if we have some talk about warranty extension, upgradability of Air computing power or expected life of software support

bottom line next topic should be about software development and need representatives from ADAS and UX

Thanks for clarifying Borski. TBH, I didn't realize that. So then this should change to DD in general. Why are some of these features limited to DD Pro. Lane centering is a common feature at this point in cars on the low end spectrum that don't have all this tech. Why is DD Pro required to get some of these pretty baseline features.

Some people don’t want it, it is a good thing to them that they can avoid spending money on that extra hardware they will never use. Having options is a good thing. Educating yourself on the options you want out of a major purchase is also a good thing to do ahead of time. It’s all on the website and in the owner’s manual.

Lot's of good suggestions here like V2H and Dash Cam.

But I miss Android Auto every time I seat in the car. It's been 3 years now (for me). I'm beyond annoyed. (Yes, I did get the aftermarket box, but it just doesn't work as well as it could. No need to get into it here).

It's difficult to imagine a format where many of these concerns or questions could be realistically answered. My items of interest also do not lend themselves to an online discussion. I'm primarily concerned with Lucid's long term software development direction, and how it may or may not relate to cars I'd want to buy.

Why use HERE maps instead of Google?
Why SoundHound AI instead of Google Gemini LLM?
These both seem like second-tier choices in an otherwise first-tier car.

Why 3 years for Android Auto, and still counting? Is this the level of priority I should expect from Lucid going forward as an Android user?

Why can't the Air display a realistic remaining range?

Will the Air ever be able to charge with scheduling done by the EVSE? If not, will Gravity?

Are there plans to improve the test coverage of each new software OTA (bug reduction plan)?

Really? Mine is surprisingly accurate when calculating the mileage using navigation.

You know darn well the answer is money.

That said, I agree and would love to see some discussion on improvements to their software development processes and infotainment choices.

This response right is the problem on these forums. Responding with educate yourself is completely unhelpful and not related to my response.. I already apologized for my example, but you still feel like you needed to dunk of me. DD (Pro) should still be a topic in general - my example was the issue. There are several posts on these forums asking feature status.

Back to my actual statement. This is a software limitation and not a hardware one. I'm not asking for FSD. "Lane centering, a driver-assistance feature, utilizes a camera-based system to monitor lane position and automatically apply steering inputs to keep the vehicle centered within its lane". I'm not asking for the world. I'm asking for a common feature that uses existing technology in the car.

It's not just a software difference though, it's not something they could just turn on for you, DD Pro comes with additional cameras. Specifically, the extra side cameras in the A pillars are used in lane centering. I truly don't know if they could do it safely without those additional cameras. I don't mean to dunk and I understand the frustration, I'm just disagreeing with your expectation that you should have this feature anyway. Simply being common doesn't mean a thing.

I’d like the main display to be similarly accurate. I do not use the native nav.

Just to take a step back. The thread is specific to AMA so DD was the suggestion. My example failed at explaining why it should be picked.

Your point is taken. The expectation to get the feature is unknown since we don't know what the limitations (if any) are. For it being a common feature, I think comparing this car to any car within a similar price point is fair to do - even more when looking at entry level cars. While I may not get it (and I fully appreciate that), it's still valid to ask for it as a feature. It may have come across as 'demanding' the feature, but that was not the intent.

I would like the option to pick what calculation it uses for range estimates. Personally, I would prefer my real-life driving average as the estimate range versus best case scenario range (or take outside temp into account). For me, it would go a long way in the winter when the range shows 350 on my standard charge when in reality it's closer to 200.

Without knowing elevation changes and expected speeds this would be very inaccurate. On my trip to the ski hill the first 250 miles eat range at 25% greater than actual miles (325 miles range used to travel 250 miles) the last 5 miles (actual) uses 15 - 20 miles of range. If I use the navigation it is fairly accurate over the whole trip.
Without knowing I'm gaining and parking 1250 feet above where I'm traveling a range estimate will be off significantly.

Likewise the first half of the trip is on the interstate where range usage is about 30% greater than actual. Second half of the trip is secondary roads (40 - 50 mph) where range usage is only 15% greater than actual.
