Hi Everyone. I have a 2025 Touring with 1,700 miles on it. I started having an issue over the weekend while listening to Spotify through CarPlay. Randomly, the volume decreased for somewhere between 5-10 seconds, and then it returned to normal. It happened several times. When it happens, the volume knob becomes unresponsive. It's like what happens when you're using navigation and the audio decreases so you can hear the navigation prompts, but I wasn't using navigation. I tried rebooting the car (microphone and X button for 20 seconds while in park and the foot on the brake), but the reboot didn't help. I even did a factory reset...no change. This one has me stumped.

Were you getting a text or some other notification on your phone at the same time?

This probably won't solve the problem since you said you were not using the nav. But just to be safe, try tapping the mute/speaker button on the map display. Even IIf the nav volume is turned all the way down but not muted, the music audio will be lowered during the time when the nav guidance would be playing. Hope this helps or you figure it out another way!

Multiple nav apps on my phone do this to me as well. I have them all muted, can't stand voice instructions, but they still sometimes pause the music where there would be a voice instruction just to say nothing.

Are you running Waze in the background? Even if you don’t have a destination set and it isn’t navigating, if Waze is *open* in the background it will give you alerts by default, just as you drive, from the background.

Go into settings in the car and turn up the navigation volume (it’s a separate slider) so you can hear it, and check if you’re running Waze in the background on your phone.

Great suggestion, but I wasn't using waze or any type of navigation app. I even went through my phone to close out all applications and it still happens. It's so strange.

That does make sense, but yeah, I wasn't running any type of navigation.

Yeah that makes total sense. It's so strange because I didn't have any navigation running at the time.

In that case all I can suggest is trying that phone in a different car, and/or no phone connected in your Air. My strong suspicion is still that the car is just doing what the phone tells it to do (for some reason), so it'd be helpful to confirm that.

I was having this the last few days. Seems like it can be caused by various phantom notifications from your phone. I toggled the notification settings in CarPlay and it went away.

Interesting. I noticed yesterday that when the issue occurs, if I attempt to modify the volume, the volume indicator that appears on the screen has a navigation symbol instead of a music symbol. This explains why the music volume is not changing, and it seems to be aligned with what others were suggesting related to navigation notifications...but I have no navigation applications running on the phone or in the car. I am, however, on an IOS Beta version...maybe that is causing issues? Do you happen to be on a Beta?

I’m having the exact same issue. If I turn my iPhone off, it doesn’t happen but I can be listening to SiriusXM, YouTube title or through CarPlay and it does it frequently. I’ve brought it up to Lucid, but they don’t seem to have any answers to that or Why my back shelf rattles. They say it’s not under warranty just because it rattles and they’re not gonna fix it they told me what oughta do is not just my EQ and play a lower volume. I thought that was a pretty silly idea. I will get back with you if I find a solution.

Escalate. There is either something missing in this story, or someone lied to you, unless you are over the mileage for your warranty.

I have had it two months and it has 4,100 miles on it. They replaced the parcel shelf when I took it in after about two weeks of ownership. Then, last week after Lucid keeping it for a few days theey returned it. They didn’t actually tell me that they didn’t do anything. They just sent me the paperwork. Not until I started driving it did I realize that it sounded pretty much like it did before and I called Lucid service back and that’s when the service manager told me that I should turn down the volume and not use the EQ because that’s the way it was designed and that it wasn’t under warranty. I’ve read through several other owners through this forum, who had the same problem as my audio dropping out, dropping down and with the rattle on the shelf and Lucid makes it sounds like they’ve never heard of it ever before from anyone, ever! It’s time that that Lucid takes responsibility for situations like this and takes care of their owners, or their owners won’t take care of them.

I’m probably one of their best ambassadors that they have just like each one of y’all are probably one of the best ambassadors that they have and we could also be their worst ambassadors. I own stock and purchased it way before I bought my car because I believe in the company. I know some people didn’t like Peter, but I don’t think he was the main fault of the company. The company should’ve let him be the CTO and then hired somebody as CEO. Making him have both positions was a little too much. I just wished that I didn’t have to escalate something as trivial as this to get my radio fixed and then be looked at every time I walk in there as here comes Mr. trouble. I went yesterday and had a sub put in the trunk to give it. The Bass disconnected their sub driver to eliminate the rattle because it was driving me crazy. I shouldn’t have to spend money past the purchase of the vehicle to be able to enjoy it, it’s a shame.

All of that was a lot of words but my answer is exactly the same: escalate.

Quick update on my issue. So, I'm not a huge fan of CarPlay (got used to living without when I had my Tesla). I removed CarPlay, and I no longer have this issue. I acutally like the experience using the the Lucid's native software better...with one exception. The only thing I'm not a fan of is how Lucid handles sending/receiving text messages when you're not using CarPlay. The notification displays on the screen and shows the name of the person sending you the text (huge plus for me), but there is no text notification sound and you're limited to 10 or so canned responses. It would be awesome if when you click the reply button it would trigger the microphone so you can dictate your reply. BUT, that's an issue for another thread. I will give carplay another shot when apple releases their new iOS26 develper beta next week...fingers crossed.
