Post your mi/kWh efficiency in inclement weather

My theory is that preconditioning the battery while hooked to the home charger will raise the battery's temperature for a winter drive. Is this a stupid idea? Has anyone tried it? I am in Dallas, and I probably don’t need to do it other than a few days during winter. But I'm curious if any owners in colder climates do this and what their results have been.
It’s not necessary. You will waste more energy compared to just driving off with a cold battery and letting it heat up naturally

I don’t live in a cold enough climate to test it, and I’m pretty sure you’re right, but it would be interesting for someone to test it since I’ve never actually tried it. I’m curious!

My "lifetime" efficiency is 3.3 kWh / mi.

That is two years and ~ 18k miles, 21" (44 psi) in summer and 19" (49 psi) in winter, I rarely go faster than traffic now (because wife brake is always with me)...but in this car that is very hard to do. So this is a good mixed average for a person who observes speed limits and only does occasional triple digits...like when the wife is elsewhere, which is rare now that she's retired. Darn. That's OK...I'm too old for a car with this level of temptation.

I've seen over 4 kWh in summer. It's not that hard to do.

When it's cold (which is rare here now) it's as low as 2.9 kWh with normal driving on 19" A/S rubber. I use % SOC on display (using miles is silly)
and do a quick mental calculation to get my range. I feel secure knowing I can easily get 300 miles of range going from 80% to 20% without looking.
Home charging rules.

I’m averaging about 2.1 mi/kw during the winter months here in NY. Brand new battery and running 19s at 46-48 lbs of pressure. A little disappointing watching my lifetime average of 3.2mi/kw now dip to 3.04 over the last 42k miles.

Those are pretty brutal numbers! We had a period 2 winters ago when it didn’t get above zero for over a week and I averaged around 2.2-2.4 during that time frame. That’s the lowest I have experienced. Over the whole winter I was in the upper 2s. I am going to reset now and see what happens this winter.

Vis-a-vis never resetting trip efficiencies, I had both Trip A and Trip B showing lifetime efficiencies when one day Trip B showed lifetime mileage but zero energy use. Drove it that way for a while until I got tired of looking at maximum efficiency so I reset it.

That is correct. I have threatened anyone that resets Trip A in my car I will find ways to ruin their life for the rest of their days.
That was by far my biggest fear when I brought my car in for the seat back material replacement. The first thing I did when I got the car back was to check the lifetime reading, not the repair they had done. I also live in fear that my wife will have an arm spasm while I'm driving and accidentally hit the reset button. That could impact a marriage! ;)

Too bad there isn't a way to lock that trip out.

I’m getting similar numbers to you. I’m in Philly suburbs.

3.4 downhill with a good tailwind and all climate off.

2 on a normal day.

1 on a bad day.

My summer/fall average was 4.3.

I have never seen 4.3 average except coasting soon after charging in the warm weather without using too much AC. Also It’s not that I’m really hard on the accelerator and almost never run in sport, generally keeping the car under 80. It’s just so weird some people generally post around 4.0 averages and they don’t seem to be driving like they have an egg on the pedal and never use the HVAC. Could it all be driver and environment or could there he a substantial difference in cars, especially early builds like mine versus later ones? And I should be actually updated a bit with a brand new battery and a fairly new front motor but my numbers have been really mediocre.
