OTA Update 2.6.0

New owner question.
- Will I get notified on mobile app regarding the update: I am currently on 2.5.4
- Do I need to do anything (on app or in car) or will the update just happen? (car in garage in RI, I am in Upstate NY for a few weeks)
- Assume don't need wifi, as update will happen on cellular?

Thanks in advance for the help. Cruised this site for a few months as I was deciding on i5 or Air and appreciate all of the comments.
Great question. This was my first update. Just like my Tesla the mobile app informed me. I clicked to confirm from the app and the update proceeded.

Is anyone experiencing cellular connectivity issues after updating to 2.6.0?

My vehicle is offline in the app unless I connect to WiFi. I drove it around in several locations as far as 10 miles away from home (in case the AT&T tower here is down), and it’s still offline. I tried the logo reset as well as locking it and walking away for a while, but it’s still offline.

I did not encounter this.

The new audio feels very crisp and am currently loving the new update. I wish there was more to it but not upset per se.

Still no sound fix. The volume has no dynamic range. Off, second click too soft, third click too loud, fourth click eardrum breaking. All the way up, then it is heard in the next state.

Really? Mines got back to what it used to be like. Nowhere near as sensitive as the last update.

Nope. not for me. I have two clicks on range, wither soft or loud. It has been that way ever since they did an improved audio update. Very frustrated with it. The volume can’t be more than about 5% of the range. The other 95% is unusable since I would be blasting the music to everyone around me.

I haven't noticed that. Maybe there's something wrong with your car. If you'd like to, since we live somewhat close to each other, we can meet up and compare.

Interesting, I haven’t experienced anything like that. I’m in Riverside, let me know if you’d like to meet up to compare too.

Sure. Let’s do that. DM me.

I know what you’re talking about. I had the same issue, couldn’t really have the volume 15% before it became deafening. Definitely got fixed and back to normal since this update. Guessing you’ve done the resets and all that jazz?

The car is constantly reset. Nothing changes. I am just unhappy with the car sound system at the moment. It is not pleasant.

Sorry to hear this. Does this happen with all music sources? If that’s the case then something is quite wrong.

Previously, I found Apple Music to be quieter than Tidal which is quieter than YouTube Music, for example. I haven’t checked again after 2.6.0, however. Within Tidal using Atmos tracks, I find that songs can vary greatly in volume.

I mentioned in this thread earlier that after the update things were running very slow. As an example when I clicked to open my garage door there was about a four second delay. I did reset the car using x and mic. That did not fix.

However, the past two days it has worked smooth again. I’m not sure how they is possible. In ang case, things are good now.

I have encountered several software issues after updating to 2.6. I always Air Logo reset the car after update.
1. My Vehicle showing offline from my iPhone app.
2. Unable to wake up the car from iPhone app.
3. Main screen went dark and I had to do a hard reset to bring it back.
4. Mobile key does not seem to work consistently even after re-pairing the mobile key
5. CarPlay does not work sometimes when connected to cable (I do not use bluetooth to connect CarPlay)

Based on previous experience, contacting support or service center for these types of issues doesn't usually help.
Any other suggestions?

I agree with Bob, sounds like something isn’t right with your car. My volume control is now more linear than it was pre-2.6.0

I only use the ota radio and iHeart radio, but yes to both.

Hmmm…over a year ago I suggested that after every update, one should reset their car by any of the available methods, a la Tesla. Any Tesla owner knew then, and knows even now, to reset their car after downloading a software update.

The more tech-savvy types on this forum - I won’t mention any names - blew off my suggestion, one even asking why doing such a thing was even necessary.

And here we are today, with this thread rife with suggestions to do a post update reset.

I’m not miffed or anything.
*flouncing off in an obvious miff…*
I don’t recall this, but I believe the mods have always advocated for a post-install reset. 🤷‍♂️
