Please bear in mind that I am trying to convey a tone of humor in this while my head explodes. So, if I understand the logic... "Flutter sucks. Let's get the iPhone Lucid app off Flutter and go native, while at the same time significantly enhancing the iPhone Lucid app. Now, let's do the same thing for the Android app? No, that's a bad idea. Instead, let's spend a few months releasing an even further enhanced version of the native iPhone app, while the Android app, two versions back, is still on Flutter, which sucks so bad that we really gotta finish that up. After all, Android Auto has proved that Android owners are interminably patient, and we should reward that someday."
I said none of that. It is *my* opinion Flutter sucks. I have no idea what Lucid thinks of it, but given they moved away from it for iOS and some conversations I’ve had, there aren’t very many people who like Flutter.
Now, here's what I anticipate to hear next...
Several people will tell me to get an iPhone. Most of them will be attempting humor rather than condescension with this statement. Others will not.
Then, I will be told that I should never have bought the car in the first place.
Then I will be told that I should sell the car.
Won’t hear any of those things from me.
Then, I will be told how difficult it is to change any Android app, as there are so many different Android phone brands, while changing an iPhone app is tantamount to changing a roll of toilet paper.
This is true, fwiw. Android is far more annoying to make consistently work, which is why Flutter was a good idea, but unfortunately Flutter sucks.
That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t update the app.
Then, I will be told how difficult it is to work with Google, while Apple is so accommodating that Tim Cook actually sleeps on a cot in Newark until everything is worked out.
Do not conflate Android Auto with the Android app. Android Auto is more of a pain than CarPlay. The app is separate.
The car is great. I love the car. I love the whole experience... frustrations and all. That said, my fervent wish is that at least a few people will acknowledge that it must be pretty frustrating for Android owners to see a level two enhancement of the iPhone Lucid app get released right on the heels of yet another delay of Android Auto, however justifiable, while still waiting on their level one Lucid app enhancements, which by the way, I hear was a 'huge win' back then.
I don’t disagree with you. I’m glad I don’t use Android. That said, don’t conflate Android Auto and the app. Completely separate beasts. Moreover, the AA delay is not up to Lucid. Lucid is done, as far as I know, and Lucid employees have confirmed the same on this forum.
Android version “coming soon”, where have I heard that before in 10 years of EV ownership?
I never said it was coming soon. I said my guess is they plan to rewrite it natively, and my guess if that isn’t that far away.
But those are guesses.
No Lights or Horn on new app? Coming soon?
Tap the bar under the icons. They’re there, and you can rearrange them if those are important to you.
No External Temperature on new app? Just a snowflake?
The snowflake indicates the battery is cold and will have reduced regen. No idea about external temp.
Charging limit now shows percentages, used to be cut off. (Fixed in old app)
I don’t know what this means?
When charging, charging graphic replaces car graphic and you lose graphic status? (Doors, lights, trunk)
Yup, this is a good feature request. I hadn’t thought of this, but you and
@Alex did. Please send that as feedback; I will too.
Tire pressure now shows last pressure. From 2 days ago. (fixed in old app)
It shows the last recorded pressures. This was a very very commonly requested feature. It will update the next time you drive it.
