New 2025 Lucid Air Won't Charge on Chargepoint home charger?

3 years and still having the same problems. Charge point knows they just won't fix it.

I have been using ChargePoint charger as well. Occasionally, you will see a RED light on the charger for unknow reason. The only way to get around is turn off the breaker and turning it back on.
You would see the solid RED on right side of the charger as shown below

I’m seeing exact same thing on my CP with a new Touring. If I switch the breaker off and on, it works. But, I have to do it every time I want to charge.

The issue is with CP. Back when the Air first debuted and people were having issues, they replaced chargers with an updated version which didn't trip the internal breaker. Now they won't do anything about it.

Ok thanks. I rent mine. Any suggestions on a replacement? …other than the Lucid?

Call Chargepoint. And push it up the chain. Go through all their BS of resetting breakers, etc so that it'll flag in their system.

Exactly, I had the same issue. Once I turned off schedule on Chargepoint app, it works.
Yeah I left my chargepoint schedule on. It works but is a bit funky. Will probably switch to the car schedule, just hoping it has weekend vs weekday (or similar) schedule capability.

The Air generally doesn't work with externally-scheduled (charger side) charging. The car's own scheduled charging, that you set from the center screen, does work.

I installed a ChargePoint Home Flex charger in my garage earlier this month and it's been working with no issues with either my AT or my wife's plug-in bybrid. However, we only use each car's scheduled charging and not ChargePoint's scheduling. We also never start charging until 11 pm and it's all done before we wake up so that's well inside the period for lower electricity supply rates.

If you keep turning on and off the breaker, you may cause damage and short circuit. Thats why I went back to using the Lucid cable and a plug in. Stopped using Chargepoint. They have a software issue with Lucid. Chargepoint needs to get together with Lucid engineers and figure out what the problem is. Listening Lucid? Please address this for your cutomers.

This is not true. Cutting a breaker (turning it off) does not cause a short circuit. A short circuit occurs when a hot wire accidentally touches a neutral wire or ground, creating a direct, low-resistance path for electricity, which can cause the breaker to trip. Turning off a breaker simply interrupts the flow of electricity on that circuit.

Frequently turning a breaker off and on does shorten the lifespan of the breaker, and doing it too many times in a short period can cause it to overheat, as they are not intended to be used as on/off switches. They are overcurrent or short protection devices.

To be clear, that could cause a breaker to be broken, after many thousands of on/off cycles (which is what they are designed for; look at a data sheet for one), but even that would only arguably constitute damage. All it would is you'd need to replace the breaker. The EVSE and car would not be damaged.

It does not "cause a short circuit."

Lucid has nothing to do with this. This is a Chargepoint problem, and chargepoint has made it pretty clear they don't seem to care. Literally every other EVSE works fine with the Air, except Chargepoint. Moreover, Chargepoint has fixed it as mentioned by @hydbob; they just do not care enough to send the new version (which doesn't trip the internal breaker) to people who have the problem. So take up the issue with Chargepoint.

Good luck.

Thanks. I had the car only 24 hours then went out of town. Left the car plugged in to my existing external schedule and can see some oddities. Do you happen to know if the car schedule can vary by day or weekday vs weekend? (Which is how my utility discounts are).

It does not. At the moment it only supports setting a start time and location (outside of which it won’t follow scheduled charging).
