New Lucid owner here—just picked up my Air Touring a few weeks ago and absolutely loving the drive so far. This is my first EV, so I’m still getting familiar with all the charging nuances.

A few quick questions I’m hoping to get input on:

1. Home charging: I’m installing a Level 2 charger at home—any strong recommendations between the ChargePoint Home Flex vs. Emporia vs. Wallbox? I’m leaning toward ChargePoint for the network but open to feedback.

2. Public fast charging: I’ve used a few Electrify America stations, and it’s been hit-or-miss. Any tips on finding more consistent stations or dealing with EA bugs?

3. Charging curve: I’ve read about the Lucid’s fast charging curve being excellent, but mine doesn’t seem to stay at peak kW for long. Could this be weather-related, or should I be looking into software updates or battery conditioning?

I’ve searched through a few threads but figured I’d post since tech is always evolving and every setup is different. Thanks in advance for any help—and I’m excited to be part of the Lucid community!

What network are you talking about? Home network? Commercial network does not show your ChargePoint Home Flex (Tesla commercial network can show your home Tesla charger if it's a "Destination Charger".

All of the above don't charge at 80A on a 100A breaker, unlike Lucid. They are rated at a maximum of 40A on a 50A breaker.

Please note that you should not use their scheduled timers, as this may interfere with Lucid's own timer.

I notice that you got a 2021 Tesla Model 3: why not use the same one that you are using now?

If you go on a road trip (I drove from CA to the East Coast and back), you are at the mercy of luck. Not much you can do but report the bugs.

Yes, to pre-conditioning the battery ahead.

One question - you say "This is my first EV" but in your user profile you say you have a Model 3. Which is it? As for subtleties of DC charging curve i suggest you look at videos on the State of Charge youtube channel. Tom knows his stuff, is highly respected and on first name basis with execs at many companies, including Lucid.

1. I have a Chargepoint HomeFlex. It is a nice charger, but after owning it for 3-1/2 years, I've found I never use any of the advanced features. My unit did die a couple weeks out of warranty, and CP replaced it free of charge. If I had it to do over again, I would get a simpler, cheaper charger from a reputable manufacturer.

With regard to the home charger, depending on which state you are in, you may be able to get a rebate if you purchase “approved chargers”. Note that the Lucid charger is not approved for a rebate in the several states I checked.

For tips on public chargers, I have found Plug Share and ABRP (A better route planner) to be helpful apps to find the status of chargers at a specific location — whether they are operable or occupied While they sometimes aren’t completely accurate, they are generally helpful.

Also, I use the EA app to give me the status of their chargers and they have been very accurate.

I have a ChargePoint Flex Charger and I really like it. It has worked well for over 6 years, but any of those you list would work. I do recommend having it hardwired on a 60 amp circuit to run at 48amps.

I do recommend the Lucid Connected Home Charger. It charges my Lucid at 18kW and my wife's GV60 at 11 kW.
