My guess is that he has decided that he can no longer globally compete in the electric car market ( or no longer wants to try ) and now will try his hand at what he previously described as the dumbest idea.

My opinion is that he will also decry electric cars as a dead end while lining up for government subsidies for his new venture.
Then again, I have an admittedly jaded view of the man.

But... they already build exploding vehicles? Thought I heard of a steering wheel falling off a Model Y a couple of times... guess the feature was in beta testing, just like FSD!

I hope it's true. There's enough pollution on the planet to justify having both electric and hydrogen powered vehicles cleaning things up. (Full disclosure. I also own about as many shares of PLUG stock as I do of LCID, and I sure as hell ain't getting rich on either of 'em yet!)

Wow haven't thought about Plug since MTI was getting grants (late 90's early 00's) to further develop their micro fuel cells and I was in alternative fuels consulting.
