Musk in the White House

So, all of our on line woke associates,
Is Musk doing a good job?

I wouldn't be all that happy if I were one of the folks counting on a $39K Cybertruck. :)

I wouldn't be all that happy if I had put down a $250K deposit on a Vaporware Roadster that is supposed to be sub 1 second to 60 and in my driveway by 2024.

If you paid the $8K or so for what is laughably called "Full Self Driving" and are stuck with Level 2 capabilities that might kill you or others if it is rainy or foggy or your camera lenses are dirty - probably not doing a good job.

If you like khakis and tiki torches and are a fan of the Great Replacement theory yes - he's doing a stupendous job.

This is the perfect summary lol

The best tiki torch and federal subsidy holder in the country, Trump and Musk

dude you are weird
Having different beliefs than you doesnā€™t automatically make a person ā€˜weirdā€™. Using that same logic, have you considered the fact that you might be considered ā€™weirdā€™ by those very same people?

Itā€™s unfortunate that some have so little tolerance for those not in lockstep with their ideology. :(

As someone rightly pointed out, this thread is getting dangerously close to becoming political. As a general rule, we stick to how current events affect Lucid here. Any posts that veer too far off that track or get personal or political will be deleted from here on out.

I was concerned that Lucid would disappear with Musk as president...then remembered that the House of Saud owns Lucid, so no worries.

I hope this is not considered political. If Elon Musk is a significant player in the coming administration, will that put a damper on non-Tesla chargers and charging companies? Will the funds allocated to the various other companies such as EA and EVgo dry up?

Teslaā€™s Magic Dock is a beautiful solution (albeit the length of the cord makes it useless) so CCS vs NACS is just a puffed up story grabber when a simple solution is already there. But Lucids are regulated down to 47 kw on said superchargers as they operate at 400 volts which is a bigger problem.

NEVI funding is handed out by the states following the federal guidelines. States select which companies get funding after issuing an RFP. I think it would be very difficult for Elon to affect that.

No. The bill is passed, money is allocated; and the states are responsible for distributing it. Nothing is changing there.

Magic Dock is a bandaid. Itā€™s not bad, and itā€™s an elegant solution for not needing an adapter, but needing an adapter was never the issue.

The latter, of it being at 400v, is. Thatā€™s a much harder problem to solve.

A pretty interesting concept ā€¦.. kudos
Through his ventures-Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and The Boring Companyā€” Musk has not only challenged the status quo but has also redefined industries, pushing the boundaries of what is deemed possible. Elon Musk has gotten to the point where any time he says anything, the world

re: your attachment, itā€™s very easy to argue that everyone should be the same when youā€™re the one getting a $46B pay package.

Hand me $46B and I promise you, I would also be very much for everyone else being treated the same as their peers; just not the same as me.

Elon didnā€™t found PayPal or Tesla. In fact, he was ousted from PayPal. He invested in Tesla after PayPal got sold and he got his windfall, and then proceeded to oust the founders, then suing them so he can call himself a founder.

The Boring Company has done roughly nothing useful, except build a bunch of tunnels in Vegas (which is not new), give up on Hyperloop, and try to save face by having people drive Teslas as taxis through these tunnels.

SpaceX has actually done important things, so thatā€™s good.

Neuralink is early but exciting. Iā€™m glad Elon funded seven spectacular neuroscientists to found it; I wish his need for ā€œfast results at any costā€ didnā€™t also result in the mistreatment of the monkeys in Neuralinkā€™s labs, but thatā€™s a separate story. Donā€™t, for a second, though, allow yourself to be convinced that Musk knows anything at all about BCI. He doesnā€™t. He found smart people who did and invested in them.

Musk also invested in OpenAI, or claimed he would, and backed out when they wouldnā€™t make him CEO.

Musk is very good at putting money into things; he has a lot of it to throw around. Sometimes those things even succeed spectacularly.

Once upon a time, he knew how to write software. He may even still be able to pick it up, and he probably knows a good bit about rockets. Thatā€™s his favorite hobby.

But heā€™s not a ā€œgenius,ā€ and he doesnā€™t know ā€œeverything.ā€ Heā€™s an investor that has done very well.

Tesla is struggling under his leadership. Itā€™s just a cash funnel for his other hobbies. It needs someone who is present to drive it.

But hey, heā€™s richer than me. That means his opinion probably matters more anyway.

Lol one of the smartest guys on the planet. Might have to get an Elon shirt for Christmas.
I'm going to say this one last time.

No one comes to a Lucid forum to argue about billionaires and how smart they are. We are here to talk about Lucid.

If you can't keep to the topic, the thread will be closed.

Musk was busy with Neuralink.
