Mobile key lost connection and won't re-pair as a key

I'd say, uninstall app, reboot phone, reboot car, try pairing again. If that doesn't work, try a different phone. Let the car sleep overnight and try again, also check your app permissions prior to trying to link it.
Would like some assistance with mobile key. Have been using it just fine for almost 18 months.

With the outage the other day, I could not at first figure out the problem. Reset the password. Deleted the app, reinstalled the app, then relinked the key. It seems to "take." The phone opens the car on bluetooth from up close but will not "wake" the car when more than a few feet away. I have deleted and reinstalled the key several times. All passwords are correct. Permissions are precise location and always leave on (Android phone).

Any suggestions? Key fob works. Bluetooth works. But with summer coming, I would like to be able to turn on AC remotely

Thanks

So your mobile key works, but the app doesn't wake the car?

I've encountered a number of "nuances" with the Lucid Mobile Key. From my encounters, I think there are several different issues:

[1] Responsiveness of the Mobile Key: after idling for an extended period (e.g., overnight in my garage), when I walk up to the Lucid with my Mobile Key, most of the time it fails to respond. I believe the Lucid is "asleep" and is not aware of my presence. To overcome this, I can:

Yes. The car wakes up (probably bluetooth) when I close. But I can operate the car wthout a pin using the mobile key,. I can get out and lock and unlock the car. But once the car is asleep, I cannot awaken it with the mobile key

What happens when you open the app? There is a bug where you need to open it twice currently.

Sorry, the previous reply was incomplete. Let me try again:

I believe the Lucid is "asleep" and is not aware of my presence. To overcome this, I can [a] open the Lucid App on my phone and go through the routine to unlock the doors. That usually wakes up the Lucid. But you have to push several buttons. OR just push on the car door handle. That usually wakes up the Lucid and it will then detect the Mobile Key and unlock. This is simpler as you don't have to launch the Lucid App and push all the buttons.

[2] "ENTER PIN" is a separate problem. I think there is a bug in the Mobile Key/PIN app. Please see other posting as I don't want to repeat them. The only comment I will make is that "ENTER PIN" seems to be a erratic bug (i.e., not systematic where you are reproduce it). It is either a corrupted Mobile Key hence, reinstalling might work. that was what I did the first time (3 mo ago). But my recent experience with "ENTER PIN" went away after I open the Mobile Key screen and removed a couple of unrecognized entries (nothing to do with Mobile Key) and "ENTER PIN" disappeared.

Perhaps you can try some of these routines.

Sounds like a similar problem. I hope I can resolve this. I like to turn on the AC from the app. When the car is asleep, the app will not wake it up

The app will not wake up the car. If I wake up the car witih bluetooth, the app works. But when the car is asleep, the app will not wake it up

Do you get an error? what does the app say after about 30 seconds? Do you get the loading wheel that says "waking car"? Does it say "vehicle offline"? There has to be more information

I think there is a interesting contention when it comes to mobile keys and cars. Specifically,

> if you put your key "near" the car/garage when you are home, the car can detect the key thus, it stay active all the time. This is not desirable.
> Presumably, the car can go to sleep while the key is still within BT range. But that means you will have to "wake the car up" when you need to. As I described in an earlier post, I go and push the driver side handle and the car wakes up.
> I also have a Rivian. And Rivian anticipated this problem. In the Rivian, you can define an exclusion zone (my terminology, not Rivian's) whereby the car won't turn on even if the key is nearby. This allows the car to go to sleep. I think you can interpret it as "inverse geo-fencing".

I have not come across this feature on the Lucid. My experience is, whether the Lucid detects the Mobile Key or not is somewhat random. If left alone to "sleep", sometimes it won't wake up when you stand next to the Lucid with your mobile key. Most of time, I can just push the driver side door dandle it and the car will wake up and unlock in "a few seconds".

It says waking up vehicle. But doesn't

It says waking up vehicle. But doesn't
There is always a message that comes up if it fails though. Unless I'm misremembering.

Fellow Android user (OnePlus 12) and new vehicle owner here. I picked up the car last night and they never could set up the mobile key...so I have nothing to delete. I'll try @avinash's suggestion (made related to Pixel) and I'll report back. Any fellow Android users with successfully resolved mobile key issues? thanks

I am an Android user (Samsung S22 Ultra). From my experience, Lucid's mobile key had a problematic history. I use the mobile key because the key FOBs are useless and, until recently (after SA replaced the sensor in the door pillar), my valet card didn't work at all since day 1.

Under the best of circumstances, Lucid's mobile key takes a long time (seconds) to wake up the vehicle. I am not sure this is Android-specific. Often, I have to go press on the door level to wake up the car before it recognizes the mobile key. And YES, I have had Lucid SC reinstall and rest the mobile key multiple times.

That said, I THINK it worked better after the 2.4.X OTA. I am not aware there were any specific fixes on OTA 2.4.X with respect to Mobile key.

I also have a Rivian R1S. When both the Lucid and the Rivian are in the same garage, you will see a marked difference in their responses to unlocking. The Rivian works every single time when I approach the garage. The Lucid works occasionally and slowly. Thus, on a side-by-side basis (which eliminates the question of Bluetooth range/readiness), Lucid's implementation appears slow and inferior. As I said, I THINK it got a little better after OTA 2.4.X. But I haven't driven my Lucid GTA for 3 months so I don't have a lot of recent experience.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I tried to pair my phone again, this time at home, when the vehicle is now connected to wifi but no difference. Trying with another phone will be a pain as I have an eSIM .. so not that easy to move it to another phone. In the interim I'll see if I can use a tablet - do you know if Lucid cloud is sensitive to the nature of the connection? I.e., if my device and/or the vehicle connect via WIFI or cellular connection? It *shouldn't* matter much but I see folks preferring telco as encryption is better. Lastly: I've unlocked the vehicle only a few times but I see a - somewhat - inconsistent behavior related to the FOB (which is my primary way of unlocking for now): slow to unlock (as you describe) and - seemingly - losing connection at times inside the cockpit. It asks for my PIN and/or request the presence of the key. The key is on my left pocket of my pants and the tech (when the car was delivered) told me that the internal BT antenna is in the roof, right behind the front passenger. So I wonder if I put the FOB in t my shirt pocket, for example, or in the right pocket of my pants would make a difference. I'll play with this, too, and will report back.

Have not tried a tablet. Worth trying, as a debug process. Have you tried the valet key card? I don't think the valet card is a proper solution but might serve as a debug tool.

A few months ago, Lucid Mobile Service came to my home to fix variety of little problems. Replacing the valet key sensor in the door pillar was one of the problems. The service tech gave me a free new FOB. According to him, he said the new version of the FOB works better than the old version. I have it , but I have never used it. I am still using my phone. Perhaps you can also ask Lucid Service Center if they can give you a new FOB.

As far as the Lucid kept asking for PIN, I think that's another bug. Yes, I have the service center re-install my ID for me. Yet, the "enter PIN" still pops up occasionally. No rhythm and reason! It hasn't happened in a while, but I am certain it will return.

In general, Lucid has many SW issues and its OTA process, validation process, version control, etc. seem very messy to me. Just look up the recent 2.4.X SW roll our thread and you will get the idea.

Another fellow OnePlus user here. One Plus 8 Pro. My mobile key was paired first when I bought the car at March end. However, despite ensuring app is not killed, the mobile key never worked reliabily and I switched to using Key Fob only for past 3 months.

Couple of updates ago, I think 2.3, I decided to try to re-pair my mobile key as someone suggested on the forum that fixed their issues. However, I could not pair the mobile key once I removed it. Got it checked by mobile service and him and his remote team could not figure it out yet. I am waiting for sending my car to sercive station for a couple of other things as well, hopefully they are able to figure it out.

Since OnePlus phones are not common, I think specific issues to these phones are not in the list at all. I just hope that a factory rest or any other hard reset by service fixes the issue.

I am having the same problems. I have a iPhone promax 15
