It seems like an abnormal number of lucid executives have left the company recently. As a soon-to-be lucid owner, this gives me pause. Can anybody give me the straight scoop on what is going on?

Only the executives themselves could tell you. Same for executives who have left Ford, Rivian, Tesla, Stellantis, GM.

Well I was hoping for some actual feedback about why these folks are leaving. One or two people leaving is fairly normal, but I gather there have been 6+ that are out the door. Is this due to pressure from the interim CEO, or perhaps rats leaving a sinking ship? I am trying to look at this with an open mind.

As with most companies you’ll never know the real reason for an exec leaving. Even if they were fired it’s usually presented in a way that they decided to seek other opportunities etc.

Let’s be honest, Lucid hasn’t had the smoothest of operations since launching so some of it could be related to that or people just simply decided to move on but I don’t think it’s a sinking ship.

Well I was hoping to get a sense of whether this was the new guy cleaning house, or people getting out while the getting is good. Hard to know for sure.

If Eric, Derek or Emad left I’d be more worried but they seem like they’re in it for the long haul.

Who left that has you concerned?

They have enough money to bring great placements for whom ever left

In this business, money talks and CEOs walk 😂

Jokes aside

I’m not worried because they have already a plan set and clear vision

ELT tenure is interesting but IMO the real indicator of how the company is going to track is insider trading, and aside from a few sales for tax purposes everyone is holding tight

Who are the 6+ executives you are referring to? Or are you just another person stirring the negativity pot?

That clickbait website which shall not be named ran an article.

In my experience an interim CEO is not going to make significant organizational changes, but rather hold steady so that the permanent CEO has the opportunity to make changes as they see fit. Execs leaving only makes the new CEO’s job harder- even if they were going to be replaced you’d want continuity as the new CEO will want to pick replacements without out a gap. So very little chance they were forced out unless they were on the losing side of a political battle. Either way it’s not great.

We’ve had quite a few resumes of Lucid employees come across our desk recently, in fact I’m interviewing one later today…

Seriously? As someone who has a car on order, I am interested in the viability of the company, yet you come at me with something like that.

I don't know any of the players, but it is somewhat worrying to me when several leave within a short period of time, so I thought I'd ask the question. Apparently I offended some people by asking the question for some reason. However it is an entirely reasonable question IMO.

It is a reasonable question...especially since many folks on the Board actually know a fair number of folks who work at Lucid. In order to be helpful, and to answer your question, sharing with us specifically who you have heard has left would enable you to potentially have a real answer as to whether those departures are meaningful or not...

I'm not sure what any departures from Lucid say about the viability of the company. Even with Rawlinson's departure we've still seen the acquisition of the Nikola facility along with plans to hire some of the Nikola employees, the opening of a new Design Studio, the start of construction of the Earth mid-size expansion in Casa Grande, and the expansion of capacity in Saudi Arabia.

The departure of executives from Tesla has been a steady stream, especially in the senior finance and legal ranks for some years. And Lucid's engineering ranks are replete with Tesla alums. Yet there have been few doubts of Tesla's viability as a result of these departures.

Sorry I don't recall where I saw it. I read a ton of financial and special interest new, plus I'm old and CRS you know...

EDIT: Hey I found the article. This might be the shunned website mentioned earlier in this thread.

EDT 2: Ok that didn't work. I guess we're not supposed to link to it. Do a search for executives leaving Lucid and you'll find it.

True, but Tesla is a far more mature company (excluding the CEO) than Lucid. You guys know way more about the players than I do, which is why I asked the question here.

What I meant in my reply is that reasons for someone leaving a company are generally unique to that individual, and usually only discussed with very close friends.
