Lucid Charging 2/5/25 Required Action!

I have free charging beyond 2/5/25, and I am waiting for clarification before I activate this upgrade. At first, I read the 'premium features' mentioned in the thank you note to be the free charging, but I think it is a generic message that has gone out to people who purchased something like SSP or DDP after a trial period, as I think was the case with the early (fully equipped) models. I'm sticking with @mcr16's instructions until she says something other than what I was specifically told to do in my email.

I'm not saying that the wheels will fall off the cart if you activate. I'm just saying I don't know that you have to do this if you are on free charging past 2/5/25.
Bob, I’m taking your approach too. I’ve got another 18 months of free charging. There’s no rush and I’m sure there will be clarification by 2/5. Strange that Lucid made something that should have been so easy, so murky.

You are certainly right about that! My guess is that certain changes made with credit card processing enabled two different process changes and enhancements to be launched at the same time, and they got convoluted. It also didn't help that communications on the forum got quickly split over multiple threads, which made it easy to miss something. What I am primarily relying on is the following reply post last Wednesday by @mcr16 on the EA Megathread...

So does it mean that if I do NOT have a credit card on file in my Lucid Wallet online by 2/5/25, Lucid will cancel my complimentary charging even though it’s not supposed to expire til 12/2026?

@mcr16 :

It will not be canceled, but you won't be able to use the complimentary charging until you enter a credit card into Lucid Wallet.

I interpreted that to pretty clearly say that, for those of us with free charging beyond 2/5/25, there is no requirement to activate the upgrade, but I'm emphatically suggesting that Lucid sends out a single memo that clarifies all of the situations/permutations.

Given my understanding that only a fraction of Lucid owners read the forum, an e'mail blast should be the way to get the word out.

I added the lucid charging base plan, from the website dashboard. Thanks for the info.

I've tempered my initial excitement a little after reading the description of the lucid charging base plan, it seems to be saying that it enables the "plug and charge" feature at places like EA, but one still pays for charging (presumably charging fees will be billed to the card lucid has on file).

The lucid charging base plan also let's you charge at EA without incurring monthly fees. Not sure if they're alluding to the $7/mo pass+ EA subscription.

My free charging ends 2/5/25. I know for sure if the free charging remains available with this "upgrade" or not pretty soon.

When I bought the car in April 2024, I knew the free checking promotion had ended (per sales rep), and lucid provided credit towards purchase of a home charger. I've had 9-10 months of free charging, I'm happy about that.

I mainly charge at home (home has solar panels), and one of my work locations offers free charging (charge point), my charging costs are minimal overall.

Hi all, I know a lot has been posted in other spots about the recent communication from Lucid about changes to charging fees / idle fees on 2/5/25.

I THOUGHT I was fine and did not need to do anything as I already went online and verified that I had a valid credit card in my Lucid Wallet.

Please set aside all of the back and forth and emotion and do yourself a favor. Go to the mobile app and select “Vehicle Info,” then select “Upgrades.”

This morning just for shits and giggles I did the above and noticed that the Lucid Basic Charging Plan was listed as an “available upgrade” with a $0 cost (I have free charging for 23 more months).

I selected it and was required to add a credit card for payment (even though I already have the very same credit card I in my Lucid Wallet). Perhaps two parts of Lucid’s customer database are not properly linked?

Whatever the cause, just do yourself a favor and take this step. After so doing I again am showing “no available upgrades.”

I’d hate for someone to lose their free charging 2/5/25 because they failed to enter their credit card information in this manner. Again, please save the complaining, moaning and frustration for the already lengthy threads on this topic. I’m just trying to help folks take a step they may not have realized they needed to take.

Cheers. Enjoy the journey.
Done, Thanks

I did this but for me, Electrify America availability is so poor it's hardly worth the time to put in the credit card number.
