Apologies for the tangent but … I had a 2005 Aviator back when they were new. 4.2L 302hp Mustang GT V8 in an anonymous SUV body … it was, for its time, fricken awesome.

Werent those the old aviators that were known for being explorer based? The new one is a marked improvement.


Nowadays I cant imagine a mustang v8 with "only" 302 horsepower... how the times have evolved since before I was born

Oh dear. This doesnt really bode well for structural rigidity, care to weigh in @hmp10 ?
However, i'm convinced they made the pillar thick enough, and it looks sexy AF.

Usually, when you have a frameless door, the windows are more flush with the body. Maybe they’re trying to camouflage stuff, but I don’t really like the Doohickey at the top of the windows (the eyebrow thing).
