Gravity Delivery Discussion

The 20,000 guidance is for deliveries of both Air and Gravity. If Air is running at 1000 per month, that means 8000 Gravity this year. We will see at the next earnings call if Lucid maintains the 20k guidance for the year. The Gravity ramp does seem behind plan.
I’d still take the “under” on 8,000.

Wall Street doesn’t matter nor does stock price. KSA has such a massive position that they’re the only ones who matter. Period.

I believe that the stock price matters to investors but I could be mistaken :>)

Unless the PDI process has significantly improved that’s an extremely short timeline. From when my Air was on the trick in AZ to pickup at Beverly Hills it was 2 weeks.
This could be yet another example of why there have been so many KSA builds. If they're still working out some last software or finish kinks such that they can't do customer deliveries quite yet, they can build a bunch for KSA and ship them SKD, which is going to take at least 4-6 weeks during which they continue to iterate. Once they get to KSA, the team at AMP-2 puts the cars back together and can do another 2 weeks of checkouts.

Assuming there are no mechanical issues holding up the production line, that gets the most finished cars to customers fastest.

A large amount of KSA cars is getting sent to the government embassies as Government vehicles to fulfil their 100K order backlog to KSA. What hasn't been publicly stated is what is KSA expectation for the pace of fulfillment of those uses. Just from what I gather from the forum there is probably another 500 vehicles that are Lucid Airs being sold publicly to external customer in MEA (Saudia, UAE etc) and EU.

100%. My point was investors can’t materially impact the stock or company as with most companies. KSA owns so much of Lucid that their #1 priority is keeping KSA happy, updates and engaged. Investors are just along for the ride with KSA. Pun intended. 😀

If I had to guess what the 100,000 orders to Saudi consists of it would be 20k airs, 30k gravity, 40k mid-size and 10k future truck/coupe units. As the company's largest purchaser, they certainly have priority and guessing by the hundreds of CCS gravity's in the latest fly overs that seems to be their strategy. The rest of us just have to sit tight and be patient... 🙃

My order page started showing an available update.

I contacted my SA today about Gravities with VINs, but unmatched.
She confirmed that they do exist.
She found one that almost matches my configuration (GGT/Green/Tahoe/Stealth/21-22 wheels/no tow package).
The one missing feature was the Power Package, which I'm going to wait for.
Production just started on it and completion is expected in about 45 days.

So, I reiterate what @niceInBoston said.
Depending on how lenient you are on options, June/July sounds possible.
Contact your SA.

BTW, she did say I've been assigned a pre-VIN and should expect the VIN "in the coming weeks".
This seems to surprise me. If there are any GGTs avail it would show low demand. Did they build cars for only customer orders or built to speculation?

I plan to order once things settle out with supply chain, HUD, software, etc. In the meantime I’m enjoying my Air GT.

As a stockholder it makes me nervous that they have this new SUV model with units waiting to be sold.

We know they do the cars in batches so maybe they're making more along with the ones for people who opted to not have the HUD etc. It's actually not a bad play, if you go to a showroom and hear "Hey, we can get you this one you're looking at in 6 to 8 months BUT if you don't want the HUD we can get you one in the next few weeks" you'd be surprised how many people will probably compromise. Especially when the HUD isn't fully baked and none of us have any idea when it will be. Could be weeks, months or even years based on Lucid's past history.

Just got notified that a different VIN has been matched to our order and that it will ship from the factory this Friday, the 13th (ulp!) -- DE, Aurora Green, Tahoe, 21/22" wheels.

The new VIN is identical to the first one except for the last six figures, so I'm pretty sure it's the same configuration.

I had already bound insurance coverage under the old VIN, so I had to get that changed.

Still no word on where our order for the Abyss Black DE stands.

That leaves a two-week window for the June 27 target delivery date you had been provided.

Perhaps there was an issue with the previous model assigned to your order and the assignment of a new VIN was the best move, considering whatever the issue may have been.

Pure speculation and I'm guessing you really don't care why.

According to my SA production is done in batches based on parts availability. She was unsure on the specifics of how orders come into play with production.

There are so many possible configurations. Production logistics; theory and principles vs. practice and execution. I would imagine those who work in it will say it's challenging.

Hoping one day to be on a factory tour.

Some of you are going to take delivery soon! I can't wait to hear your thoughts regarding real-world use of your Gravity.

This timing has worked out with bizarre serendipity for me. I had my second knee replaced last week, can't drive for a couple more weeks, and can't make an extended trip for at least six weeks. So getting the car delivered at the end of June and then having it wrapped and the radar/laser system installed over the following two weeks works out perfectly. The Gravity and I are both "in the shop" as it were during exactly the same time frame . . . and the car and I will both be ready for our summer road trip to the Blue Ridge.

To make it even weirder, all this delay with the aggravating lack of communication from Lucid, also met my other agenda of not wanting to get a Gravity too early in the production run. Every one of @Adnillien's flyovers with dozens and dozens of Gravities lined up to shipping far and wide was a downright balm to my worries on that score.
