Gravity Delivery Discussion

Which makes me wonder why Lucid is putting HUD in both showroom cars and demo cars in Studio’s.
The HUD isn't just the HUD. It's also the controller of the animated ambient lighting. Without it they cannot demo to full effect the Sanctuary mode.

Hud-less GTs with everything else included should be delivered by the end of summer, that’s what my SA told me. I was just at Natick picking up my Air after service and they said that’s what they heard also.
Just remember - summer ends September 22nd!

They’re saying end of July for my “pre VIN, batch assigned” GGT no HUD. I think there’s a 0% chance, but will be thrilled if they make that. I am thinking end of year.

It’s funny because when I learned about the Sanctuary mode thing, I kind of thought it was a goofy gimmick thing for Californians who are really into Yoga or something. But having seen it in action in the production Gravity, it’s actually really cool, creates a super nice and pleasing ambiance and my kid loves it. So I went from a shrug initial impression to deciding I wanted that in my car, go figure.

So....after being told Tuesday that my DE was on the way to Houston (with expected arrival in Houston yesterday or today for a Dallas delivery this weekend) and then having radiosilence from my SA, I decided I would actually call the Houston studio/service center to see if anyone there could physically check to see if my vehicle is there. It seems as if it's NOT in Houston. This makes me wonder where exactly the car is at the moment and how disorganized the process behind the scenes truly is. I have to say this misinformed smoke and mirrors show isn't the greatest look for Lucid and for a luxury buying experience at this price point. Luckily I'm pretty patient and cool with getting the car whenever. I can't say everyone else would be as forgiving--especially if they have a lease ending or other deadlines to get the car in their garage. The Houston studio told me the delivery team is supposed to touch base with me tomorrow with more info. It will be interesting to see what they have to say.

And I just got a call from my SA... so apparently the car IS in Houston (at a location not directly at the service center) but hasn't undergone PDI which may take a bit longer since it sounds like they are going to go over it with a fine tooth comb and simultaneously train everyone on Gravity PDI...so that may take a few extra days. Maybe I'll have it by the end of next week? We'll see.

I love that this is all set up for maximum drama on the forums.

Like all “only use when stopped” features, I think Sanctuary will be neat, but not so useful to me. I love having Netflix, Disney, etc on my Rivian and Tesla - but use them maybe once a year for 10 minutes.

Regardless, I don’t need the lights to work in tandem with the screen. I’ll go to Disney if I need a light show. It’s less expensive! 🤣

After existing Air owners who ordered their GDE months before you complained to Lucid management about you getting your GDE before them, Lucid decided to delay your order to appease their original fan base.

Yep, that’s exactly what happened. Every owner complained and Lucid is still delivering his car before anyone else, existing owners included.

That's exactly what keeps me from buying the Gravity, the fact that it's missing the Sanctuary mode ...
Which is especially amusing because Sanctuary Mode works without dynamic ambient lighting. :)

I dropped by the Millbrae studio today, to check out the Gravity they now have on display. As I was leaving, I realized there was another gravity parked outside in their lot. Didn't turn around to go back and ask about it, but it could be a customer delivery cued up.

Yeah either that or test drive Gravity. Studios have them they’re just still getting them set up.

Signs of life today...my car has moved from "in production" to "preparing for delivery". And for some icing on the cake, the pickup location is listed as the Houston studio instead of the Dallas one. 🤦‍♂️

But don't you want to pick it up in Dallas?
