Gravity Delivery Discussion

Not the same….its not like Lucid is trying to sell hundreds of thousands of cars…there is no ramp up yet. Must be a supply chain defect or software that they want fixed .

Then I would say it's worse than what Tesla experienced - even Tesla was able to quickly produce their low volume cars once they started production.

I'm sure they'd love for people to believe it's a supply problem, and not a manufacturing problem. And software? That would be terrible given that they too want to license their software. I don't see that happening if they can't even get it good enough to get into production.

Like the air, the latest styling will have changed by the time the Gravity gets started if they don't hurry up. I know I know, everyone here LOVES the Air - but that is not the consensus among non-fans like us.

Maybe Lucid only has the green paint that's why they can't ship Gravities, other than the first 9 that were all green. ;)

Seriously, when Lucid sacked Rawlinson in January, that's a signal something is significantly wrong with the Gravity readiness and ramp. You don't sack a CEO if you are just 30days behind schedule.

The only way Lucid gets back on its feet is to come clean and put an end to all the speculations (NASC vs CCS, Saudi vs US focus, SW/HW not ready, supplier problems, etc.). The status quo is not sustainable!

The thing is, Lucid really doesn't have to come clean. No one in the media is really paying a bit of attention to them. I haven't seen one article questioning why the Gravity is not being produced yet. And I'm not sure that's a good thing. Will anyone even notice when it does eventually start production?

Looks like towards the end of April for customer deliveries to start. Studios should have them soon for test drives.

Indeed it is and I really hope all of the naysayers will now respectfully just chill.

I really don't think anyone was being a nay sayer per se - it was simply a discussion of the reality of the situation at the time. That's exactly what a forum like this is for. Otherwise, there would have been like 8 posts about the Gravity in the last 3 months. 🤣

How many studios are there now? Doesn't this mean they've produced about 100 vehicles in three months? Seems like they should put a more positive spin on this...
Like how much faster they're producing them now than three months ago.

40 total, 35 in NA.

Can't make a big deal about something you already made a big deal about.

I actually missed an important word in that tweet above, but caught it when I listened to the interim CEO at the event.

He said they are NEARLY finished building all the cars for the studios. That means they haven't built 40 yet.

Edit to add that as long as this isn't another dog and pony show, and deliveries start in earnest at the end of April, I'm a happy camper. In fact, they can skip the studios!

Not a single article out there yet about today's news. This was what Musk was good at - if this were Tesla, there'd be 240 articles already.

Yeah, quickly produce crappy defective cars that they dumped on their customers. And I’m one of them. No comparison..

And crazy thing is, they were smart. Ended up with the #1 selling vehicle in the world. I do remember all the horror stories tho. I thought the FWDs would bankrupt Tesla. What did I know.
