Gravity Bugs / Issues

Well I guess we jinxed it. No card key issues until today. I think it's bc last night I made sure the card key worked to show my wife how to use it. Got up this morning to head out on a road trip to Atlanta and boom, no key detected. None of the keys are working to start the car. I can unlock in the app but that's about it. Card and key won't unlock or start the car. Soft reset no help. Lucid customer care doesn't open until 8 EST, so another 40 mins or so. So we're stuck standing by. This is not how I imagined spending my morning. Hope they can push the reinstall and it works and we have no further issues.
Ok, so they pushed the update and after a 2.5 hour delay with all this, we are good. However now I've got flights to change bc I am missing it due to this, but Lucid is trying to work with me on this and I APPRECIATE that they are accepting the responsibility and trying to make things right. I understand new cars (even if keys should really not be an issue) and glitches and mistakes happen. It's in how they address those and handle the customer is what still makes me glad to have bought this vehicle and be a Lucid customer.

Wow! I got one without the HUD so I have no experience in my Gravity but this is so much worse than my limited experience in the test drive. It appears there are varying degrees of just how bad it is. I wonder the difference between one Gravity and the next? So sorry that you have this issue as it would make driving very hard for me (and it just plain shouldn't be an issue).
This is definitely the case. I don't see any of these artifacts in my HUD. If the light hits just right I can get reflections and if I get really low down I can see an "oval", but no ghost jellyfish or anything like that. There seems to be a consistency issue with the production, installation, or transport of the optics.

I'd be talking to Lucid about taking the car back if I didn't have such confidence that they will address the problem as soon as they are able. Lucid stuck with us through the thick and thin of owning an early-production Air Dream (a car we're keeping even with the Gravities), and it's the trust they earned from our Air experience that keeps us coming back to the brand. When a Lucid is operating as designed, there is simply nothing like it on the road.

Although I am impatient for our second Gravity Dream to arrive, I have no desire to see it delivered with the same problem . . . and I suspect this is the holdup with further DE deliveries people are beginning to report.
I had a '22 Air GT that I traded in for the Gravity. I had some issues but the way that Lucid handled them made me fine with the GGT at this early stage. I haven't really gotten to drive the GGT yet as I took in for PPF the day after I got it. I can deal with any hiccup except the no drive thing some are having due to the key but only because this is my only car and I have to get the kid to school otherwise it would be sucky but not a huge issue as I work from home. :)

Same. This is unique to your car I think @hmp10. Lucky you

Lucky me, indeed. This is turning into a reprise of our first months with the Air Dream back in the day.

The mobile tech has been here for the past few hours. He was able to get Homelink working. He confirmed that a new HUD is required and has ordered one, but he doesn't yet know whether he can install it or the car will have to go back to Miami to the Service Center. Right now, he's re-torquing all the bolts of the second row seat to try to resolve the rattle and squeaks in it.

(I just interrupted writing this post because he called me out to take a test drive to see if the seat noise was corrected. When I got into the car and tried to put it into gear, it would not recognize the key fob which was lying in the console bin for it. Nor would the car respond to the key card. We had to exit the car and move away from it and re-approach before the car would respond to anything. During the drive, the seat noise was much diminished but still present, so he's now trying to get access to some other bolts to check their torque.)

The issue with the navigation system not reading the car's location is not resolved. While the tech has been here, the car switched from showing Arizona as its location back to showing Newark, CA. But he could not get it to show where the car actually is in Florida. Nor can we download any offline maps. He reloaded 3.2.0 to no avail and had to set up a call with the software team in HQ. They've been on the phone with him a while and are setting up a case to pull the ADAS team into the matter.

They asked him to take it for a drive to see if they could get the system to reset while driving and to send them a video of the nav screen while driving. They were hoping the system might reset that way since the 3.2.0 reload. But it didn't, and they're now thinking that either the ACU will have to be reflashed, or maybe replaced, but won't make a decision about next steps until the ADAS team goes over the situation. Meantime we have no navigation system nor any other features that work off the car's GPS system, such as garage door proximity opening, clock time zones, etc.

(The tech just called me back out to the car to tell me that he could not entirely address the second-row seat noises and is going to request that a replacement seat be ordered. He'll let me know how Lucid responds, along with the other issues still outstanding.)

The good news is that my impatience to get the second Gravity delivered is rapidly waning. The one we have was nowhere near ready for delivery to a customer.

Sorry for the bad luck.

Thus far our experience has been very positive. Sure a few little warning pop ups here and there, but man based on the stories I've read on the forum very far from it. Nothing deal breaker yet for us, although I may be speaking too soon.

If its worth noting, I can see that 2.7.1 was loaded to our Gravity twice prior to us picking up the car. Perhaps that is the reason why we've managed to avoid a lot of the FOB problems.

Oh, I've been to this rodeo before with Lucid, Mercedes, GM, Audi, and Jaguar due to my early adopter addiction to new car models. And I remain confident that, just as we have with the Air (but not necessarily with all the other brands), we'll end up with an amazing vehicle once Lucid finishes playing whack-a-mole with the issues as they pop up.

But I have to admit, I'm a few years older now, and the game is a little more tiring than it used to be.

my Homelink issue (it was not working, showing a QR code) was resolved with a software update done over the air (version still shows 3.2.1 but Homelink now works). So I would expect Lucid to roll that into a broader update.

What were the symptoms that prompted you to need / ask for a new HUD?

There is a severe warpage in the projection screen that creates strong ghost-like reflections and a prominent blue oval that can be seen not only by the driver but by all occupants of the car:

Interesting, I see a blue oval reflection depending on my seating position (higher up seems to solve it) but not this ghosting. I'll have to have a closer look at my own HUD screen.

That second photo was taken from the front passenger seat while the car was inside our garage, so the reflections we're seeing show up in all lighting conditions and sitting positions.

New symptoms arrive daily. Last night was a "rear steer not available" message in addition to the wipers turning on even though they showed being off. I ran 1 cycle with the washers and they shut off. Does anyone else seem to have an issue with the HUD not being level? Also, the other morning at around 6am, just before sunrise, the HUD background kept changing from light to dark. Might have just been due the time of day and it couldn't decide where to end up. Also, driver side back seat doesn't work properly when pressing the button to access the third row. Still no Homelink.I've given the list to the SC. Vehicle is being picked up Friday and they said they will need it for a week. I'm heading to Europe for 2 weeks so hoping the fixable stuff is fixed when I return.

One more question. When using Dream Drive, do cars not appear on your screen until past your front fender? I get the blind spot warning, then it disappears when the car pulls alongside. At that point, there is no indication and no image on the screen. Just curious if every is having the same experience.

I am glad it’s you and not me, but I really wish it were someone else, heh.

Ours has been pretty flawless tbh. Seats fold flat, it’s silent as a whistle, no issues with anything other than some small random trim things (misalignments, a door seal missing, etc.) and Homelink needs activation. Other than that it’s been pretty flawless tbh.

One quick question for folks here: anyone having issues playing videos in the Sanctuary app? Ours appears to only play music now and not the videos. Wondering if that’s an OTA bug.

Yeah, slightly. Future adjustment options will come; I’ve seen the UIs for manual adjustment and for automatically adjusting based on your gaze.

All the videos are working on mine.

Hmm. The video played in Sanctuary when we tried it at a recent Supercharger session. But the other night we tried to demonstrate it to a friend while on the way to dinner, thinking that it might display at least on the lower screen so that they could hear the sound effects (which are really nice). All we got was audio, but we figured that was probably because the car was in Drive mode.

When I went to the Lucid studio to view the Gravity, one of the SAs attempted to run the demo video and it would only play audio. Then I tried other items and only got audio from them. I thought maybe it was just an issue with the showroom model.

I had same experience in our showroom. But, a lot of the infotainment seems inoperable/off in “studio mode”…Our studio Gravity is great just to see and sit in, and massage works! Otherwise, it either doesn’t work in studio mode OR, they need to reset it! I almost asked them to reset last time I was there…
