FWIW, it does seem like they’re not ramping production aggressively. It could be for any number of reasons.

Also, interestingly, Lucid seems to have done a good job putting these “early” deliveries in the hands of folks who are patient, aren’t providing to big folks to review and aren’t flipping them. Early Tesla and Rivian were flipped for sale and the general public seem to have had broader access somehow.

The issues suck, but they really are similar to my early R1S build…it will take time and I agree with @HC_79 - stopping production would be more of a PR nightmare. Production is already slow enough and my sense is it will stay that way for a bit longer.

I respect and appreciate @hmp10’s post and candor. It’s a legit concern and my hope is time and focus will fix these challenges.

We will know more after next week’s earnings call.

The other day, we left the keyfob in the car overnight on accident.

We used the card to open the door, but I'm not sure if pushing on the handle while the fob was in the car would have been the correct thing to do. Not sure if the fob would be "asleep" and not detected by the car.

Its so easy to lose the fob. More than once already I've punched it, and had to go digging around the second row for the fob.

. . . aren’t providing to big folks to review . . .

I, too, suspect that is what's happening, and I think it's wise.

However, if so, it's interesting that they're willing to deliver cars to customers that they're not willing to put in the hands of reviewers.

As for a PR nightmare, temporary halts of production or delivery in order to address factory or supply chain issues is not really that unusual. Tesla, Rivian, VW, MB, Porsche, GM, Hyundai and others have done it with some of their EVs without the sky falling or even much market attention. It's much less expensive for the company and less onerous for owners to have problems fixed at production rather than by service in the field.

This forum would certainly have a dark field day with a delivery suspension, but I suspect the larger market would barely take note.

. . . and it's kinda what appears already to be going on with Gravity Dream production, anyway.

Sorry for the bad luck.

Thus far our experience has been very positive. Sure a few little warning pop ups here and there, but man based on the stories I've read on the forum very far from it. Nothing deal breaker yet for us, although I may be speaking too soon.

If its worth noting, I can see that 2.7.1 was loaded to our Gravity twice prior to us picking up the car. Perhaps that is the reason why we've managed to avoid a lot of the FOB problems.
I'm thinking that maybe everyone who is receiving their Gravities now, might want to have CS push the 3.2.1 update out again as that seems to be what is fixing a lot of these glitches.

We have Apple AirTags on all of our key sets. Has saved us dozens of times.

Let’s pump the brakes a bit here.

We’re barely a few hundred deliveries in, likely under 250 customer cars in the wild. That’s a very small sample size for any sweeping conclusions. Yes, some early adopters have reported issues, but as I’ve mentioned previously, it’s also common for forums to over-index on negative experiences. Happy owners don’t usually post daily play-by-plays saying “everything’s fine.”

Suggesting Lucid halt deliveries entirely over anecdotal reports would be a PR and logistical nightmare. It sends the exact message you’re worried about, that something is fundamentally broken when in reality, we’re talking about teething issues, many of which are already acknowledged and being addressed with OTA updates and service adjustments.

Independent reviews will come and if Lucid is doing its job (which recent communication and OTA release suggest it is), those reviews will reflect progress, not disaster.

Every new platform has growing pains. The Air went through it. The Model S definitely went through it. The Taycan didn’t launch bug-free either. Let’s not catastrophize before we even have a real data set.

We can demand better without writing panic posts that read like we’re one Edmunds article away from the company collapsing. Let’s give constructive feedback and maybe a little breathing room.

Whether you like it or not, this is par for the course of being an early adopter and people need to fully expect teething issues.
Hell, the Model X with its falcon wing doors was a disaster the first couple of years as they got them to work right.

I just finished a more involved test drive of another Gravity GT. While it too had the spoiler misalign, as did the display one (at the Burlington mall in Massachusetts), it’s pretty minor and subtle, like you gotta look for it to notice it and it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. Also I confirmed the 3rd row vents work GREAT if you’re sitting in them. They don’t activate until 1) you’ve manually turned rear climate on from the driver seat, and then 2) have an adult weight sitting in the back seat. I was impressed by how well the 3rd row vents worked actually, that seat is really comfortable, it was my first time sitting back there. This test drive Gravity also had a non-functioning fob but keycard worked without fuss. And what I didn’t notice the first time, cuz I didn’t have much time on the test drive due to my schedule, is the 22/23” wheels are remarkably smooth, I’d expected a little bit more bump over bumps but man the Gravity is just posh on the road, at the lowest ride height setting you can drive in, in sprint mode (I never went over 45mph but still this thing is way the hell more composed than anything else I’ve ever driven, car or SUV).
We will have our dog in the back (seats folded down). Does anyone know if the rear vents will work without anyone sitting back there?

We just noticed the "clock is 3 minutes fast" issue on ours. Someone at Lucid must be perpetually late for appointments and hard-coded this offset into the vehicle!
Mine is 3 min fast as well! Glad there is consistency!

I was told specifically that this was not a fix but a reset and the problem could come back. All this did was kick the can down the road until an actual fix is pushed.

The 3.2.1 update definitely fixed the infotainment media apps dropping issue. The phone contacts are still a little balky but still useable, almost there.
I wanted to share that I took my Gravity DE to a local "Cars & Coffee" over the weekend and had non-stop traffic and lots of questions. I was wearing a Lucid hat so many mistook me for an employee but I assured them I was not. Many Tesla "X" and "Y" owners were waiting to see this car and it does not disappoint. Many reservation holders came by said it was the first one they'd seen "in the wild". The two hours flew by with a constant stream of interested car enthusiasts....so much so the guys with cars on either side of me decamped for a less busy part of the parking lot. Bottom line is this car is a home run from every perspective. Engineering needs to execute on these niggling issues with the tech stack so this car can realize it's potential.

So, since the 3.2.1 update fixed the connectivity issues...I still have (about 25% of the time) an issue where the "my favorites" thing does not show up which is frustrating because I can't access my saved channels on SiriusXM. Anyone else have this intermittent issue? If I do the profile switch (or a reboot) it fixes it.

A friend of mine who is a true car guy goes to the local C&C. A local ev group also holds a monthly Electrics & Expressos. I'm considering taking my Gravity.

However, I'm hesitant because I don't want people sitting inside, opening doors, etc. You can tell people not to do something, but unless you monitor closely, stuff can happen.

I've been meaning to ask this question of those who attend Lucide & Lattes events: How do you handle overly aggressive people? Honestly, I probably just shouldn't go, but I would like to show the car. I know there's interest.

Yep. What I do is switch sources. I switch to Bluetooth and back and it reappears every time. I usually do this right away when I start the vehicle now.

I've not had the chance to take the Gravity out to one yet, but I've had other crowd grabbers and usually most people are very respectful and hesitant to touch or get inside, even when I offer. It's usually kids with parents who aren't watching or controlling them that tends to be the problem. If you can bring a 2nd or 3rd person with you to help with crowd control inside the vehicle, that will certainly help, as I imagine if it's just you, you will likely be overwhelmed in a sea of people asking questions and not able to monitor those who chose to get in the car. Also, you can open the windows, but keep the doors locked and only open the frunk and trunk intermittently when you are there to control access. Don't be afraid to let people know to be careful or if they have gone too far. You could even print a sign that says look, but don't touch. I've seen that at plenty of car shows.

When the Air first came out I attended a lot of these events to get Lucid's name out there. I let anyone and everyone climb in and out of my car. I attended an event in Riverside where I gave test rides for 4 hours to anyone who wanted to ride in the car.

People are usually pretty respectful. When I took the Gravity to a recent event most people looked through the windows but had more questions for me than anything. For the ones who wanted to see the trunk, frunk, interior etc they just looked in when I opened it but didn’t actually get into it.

Yep.
I thought about little Johnny whose parents can't control him and his Matchbox car.

I thought about giving rides, but not at a public event like a car meet up. I'll probably save that offer for the hot chicks at the gym. 😀 Seriously, I might make that offer to some at my gym who I see there regularly; regardless of shape or gender. 😀 TBD
