Getting Android Auto into the Lucid

Late response (only a year late, right?) but I have a Starlink dish installed in the car. I use it with my Android Auto AI box device thingie.
Interesting! Where did you install the dish?

I have a Starlink Mini mounted on the underside of the glass roof just above and ahead of the rear passenger area. I used a mount similar to what's shown in this Amazon listing. I have a short barrel jack to USB-C adapter (I think this one), and then have the USB-C cable running to the 12v outlet in the trunk using this 100v USB-C adapter.

I don't have reliable cellular data for part of my commute, so I use the Starlink wifi for my android phone, and then have my android phone hardwired to this Android AI box. It's under-powered, but one of the few Android AI boxes that features a second USB port that happens to transmit Android Auto over the USB cable. It's not documented, but it works. The Carlink 4.0 also does this - again undocumented - but like other folks, I can't get the friggin Carlink 4.0 resolution to work with the Lucid's display. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just ordered a Starlink Mini for the Gravity 😈

Sadly, it appears the Starlink Mini dish does not work inside the Gravity's glass, at least in the iteration we have. I wonder if it's metallic tint or something that causes signal attenuation? Works immediately if I take it out of the car. :(

Ugh that's brutal. I'll bet it's the glass coating. I know that the dish is supposed to have a clear view of the sky, but why not try it inside the frunk? The Gravity has a power outlet up there, right? Should be easy enough to see if it works.

Like, through the aluminum? Interesting! I’ll try that!

I take that as a sign that Gravity's glass roof coating could be very effective for IR heat rejection.

Mount ordered. Works through the second row side windows. :) since it would be a temporary solution for us when we travel anyway, that’s fine!

Carlin kit no longer available on Amazon, I tried to order it directly from Carlin, it looks like a suspicious website, I ordered it anyway and it still hasn't come. Plus it led to receiving hundreds of spam emails. Are there any other adapters which could work?

The link below is the one I have in my car right now, and it can be ordered on Amazon today. Definitely a Chinese product. Maybe issues with the new tariffs....?

With some help from some forum friends, we are able to reliably get Android Auto in the car with a little workaround. Credit to @Bocabob for testing and @LucidDropkick for the guide and flowchart.

To achieve Android Auto in the Lucid you will need to purchase the following:

CarLinkit AI Box

Other AI boxes may work, this tutorial is specifically this product. The box runs through WIRED CarPlay.

Plug the unit into the car, either USB port should work, but this is being written running it through the USB-C. First boot will take a long time (several minutes).

It'll be recognized as a CarPlay device by Lucid. It should auto-open, if not, open from Lucid Home screen. You can enable CarPlay in 2 different places as shown below:

Next you should see the loading screen for the box is shown as such:

The screen now shows you some interface options. You don't have to touch anything. It will automatically size the screen to fit the Lucid screen.

I am THANKFUL for this forum and this message. I Love my Gran Air, but not having AA has not completed the Leading Edge Technology that we would have all expected to have happpened by now. I have ordered the CARLINKIT https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CMXHMGZ8? I look forward to the ultimate ride with AA.
Now that ordered it, it’ll probably come out!
