I have a pretty high tolerance for dealing with service visits when I'm near home -- and Lucid's laudable service support has made that relatively easy. My concern is getting on the road where breakdowns, especially in remote areas, pose significantly more problems.
 
I just checker the Lucid Motors website. The Grand Touring Performances that were listed as available are no longer there. I wonder if the news that Lucid will no longer accept orders for that version has caused people to snap up the ones remaining in inventory?

I'm an early DE, too, and plan on a 1,500 mile trip to Maine in a few weeks. My primary concern is mapping charge and stretch stops.

My view these days is strictly binary -- the car works and I get there or it fails and I get to experience Plans B, C, D, ... Failure in these cars at this point is not a quick tow to the service station followed by the stocked part replacement and you're on your way again -- not at this point.

If you absolutely, positively have to get there, drive your ICE vehicle, take a train, or fly! But, if you have time, want to chill, and enjoy driving the heck out of your Lucid, then just plan and go. What will happen will happen.

(Full disclosure: I think my view would be different if traveling with family members, especially children!)

I hear you. I’m “fine” with a rental and tow if that happens, but it hasn’t yet. I agree it poses way more problems though, given the reliance on tow, getting the car back, etc.

It did happen on my wife’s Kia Sorento though; that sucked :/

I guess I believe if it happens it happens, and worrying about something that hasn’t happened isn’t worth it. That changes for you though, to whom it’s happened much more than anyone else.

Have you considered a tarot reader so you can find who cursed you? :p

The door handles have an updated part so they should not fail again. My service tech said that Lucid updates parts all the time.

Yeah, but the car's got three more handles that haven't been replaced with the updated part.

Mobile service can do it fortunately. The drivers door is the most prone to failure due to the highest use. However it is annoying and I can't argue with the fact that you have had a lot of problems. It reminds me of my last car (Alfa Romeo Guilia).

Maine road trip advice: charge to 99% at the Kittery outlets EA 150kw units, they’re always reliable. Try not to use the second to left Chargepoint at West Gardiner plaza, the farthest to left one seems to have less issues. Other than that, double check EVGo sites on PlugShare as some at Hannaford are broken but others work. Or just find a hotel or AirBnB with a L2 charger!

The SC confirmed today that there was a campaign for the hose clamp.
Reading about coolant leak in this thread makes me wonder if there's another cause for hmp10's problem or if the previous owner (dealer) didn't get it done.

Since I bought this car used (replacing my original Dream that was wrecked), I had a Mobile Tech specifically check to see if the tow hook recall had been done and if the hose clamp check had been done. Lucid records indicated the tow hook had been checked and was okay (the original car had to have the tow hook replaced). The Mobile Tech got under the car to examine the hose clamp and told me it was installed properly and did not need to be corrected.

However, the Service Center told me that this leak had been caused by the clamp.

The SC said that, while they did replace the hose that is held in place by the clamp in question at the front of the car, they found another leak. A pinhole had developed in the rubber gasket where a coolant hose connects to a coolant reservoir tank in the rear of the car near the MPV box.

They said that the high voltage system was never without sufficient coolant to control temperature. They ran a full diagnostic on the battery pack and say it suffered no damage.

The car is going on a truck now and will be delivered back to us in about three hours.

Well, that's some good news, at least. I suppose they need to start checking more than that one clamp.
