So color me confused, very confused. I went to a Tesla SC with a Lectron adapter. Following the directions and selecting the appropriate charger # from the Tesla app, I kept getting a Lucid prompt that an additional step was required. However I saw nothing in the Lucid app to select that would have negotiated a charging session. On the Tesla side it looked ok and a cc was on file with Tesla.

Any ideas?

It seems that the Lucid app now works for Tesla Supercharging, so you shouldn't need to use the Tesla app or your credit card via Tesla. As I understand it, you plug into a Supercharger, then you'll get some kind of notification from Lucid's app to select a charging stall number. Lucid handles the credit card billing.

If that doesn't work, then use only the Tesla app and the credit card you entered into it: select a stall number and plug in adapter and cable. Charging should start automatically.

It takes a couple minutes for a given stall to show as available again if you 've plugged in, failed to charge, then unplugged.

But still, following the directions on the Tesla app should work, and if it doesn't, it's a problem. Some people might want to use the Tesla app and not pay through the Lucid app. In my case, I have a huge credit balance with Tesla from a referral credit, and other people are paying Tesla a monthly fee for discounted rates. They'd want to use the same account as they do for their other EVs.

I now have the adapter, have free charging through EA, and should have free charging from Tesla using the credit. I'm likely to use Superchargers only in a pinch but I don't want to pay for them, leave my credit balance unused, and have it expire.

Unfortunately I never saw a Tesla charger stall # within the Lucid app. That was the bulk of the issue. Then Lucid wouldn’t allow the Tesla app to complete the transaction as it kept insisting another step was necessary and that step (specifying a Tesla stall #) never showed up in the app.

As I said to my wife, this is why I did this prior to any possible emergency where we might actually need the Tesla charger.

I’d encourage others with an adapter to try this prior to actually needing it. We may be able to acquire some data as to what procedures worked for what people.

I had a similar issue but was able to see the pop-up with the Lucid app. The additional step necessary wanted me to put a credit card on file with Lucid's billing. After putting in a second credit card (and the app showing it was successful) then selecting the stall, it would again say that I needed to put in a payment method. Couldn't get it to work, but seems like using Tesla app is the solution, though I haven't tried it yet.

Did you plug the car in before or after using the Tesla app to start the session?

I think to control it with the Tesla app, you need to start in the app and then connect to the car.

Following the directions on the Tesla app worked great for me when I tried it. Use Tesla's app to select a stall, then plug in. Don't use Lucid's app at any point.

I second this. Maybe as a former (twice) Tesla owner I am comfortable with Tesla app. Works flawlessly, AND, most importantly if you use public chargers often, a Tesla subscription at roughly $13 per month gives you Tesla owner prices per kWh . It pays for itself if you use Superchargers less than twice a month

That’s exactly what I did. I selected a Tesla stall via the app and then plugged in. In a short time I got a prompt within the car, ‘Additional step required’. That additional step never materialized within the Lucid app. So Lucid didn’t allow the Tesla app to complete the procedure as required by Tesla. :(

Oh dear, I hope that Lucid didn't break the Tesla app's usefulness when they got their own app to work.

Yup, that’s what I did, started the Tesla app, chose the stall # and plugged in…to no avail.

Good advice. I plan to do exactly this in the next couple days.

Looks like I'd better do the same before our next road trip. Checking it once wasn't enough, it seems.

I thought that after 31-July-2025 you can just use plug-and-charge and no fiddling with any apps - just like the Gravity?

In the phone app, it says that Plug n Charge is "Inactive".

Problem solved! I sent an email to Lectron explaining my issue and they were very prompt replying (within 1 hour) with the correct procedure. Apparently I was not doing it correctly and I suspect some others here weren't either (OE). The correct procedure per Lectron, that worked immediately, was to first open the Tesla app while selecting the proper Tesla location. Next select the charger stall you'll be charging at and then press 'start charging'. Only then do you plug in the adapter/Tesla combo into the car's port. You do not select the Lucid app for anything regarding Tesla charging. Perhaps this will change with plug N play which is currently not activated. Once I followed this procedure, the charging began almost immediately, in fact much quicker than when charging at an EA location. My charging speed, as anticipated, was a slow 48-49 kW but hey, it worked. :)

One interesting note, Lectron's procedure for charging indicates plugging in the adapter first, selecting the proper Tesla stall #, hitting 'start charging' and then attaching the Tesla cable to the already plugged in adapter. Lucid indicates you attach the Tesla cable to the adapter first and plug in the entire setup to the car. I noted that difference to Lectron and they said either way works, but they felt it was better to put the adapter in first.

I used the Lucid app on an Android phone. Once I figured out to scroll down for the charging stall and then scroll down further to confirm, charging went without a hitch.
A couple of videos from Lucid would have been helpful but not a big deal. I would recommend doing a trial run so you're not trying to figure things out under pressure. Also if Tesla chargers are an important part of a travel plan investigate ahead of time to make sure they are the correct Tesla charger. 2 Tesla charging facilities near my home in south San Jose are not compatible. I'm calling it them the Silver Ring of Death*.
*If you have tried you will know.

I thought I suggested the same thing:

You can do that with the Tesla app.

Lucid’s PnC should be working now, so you should be able to just select the stall from the Lucid app.

Either will work; it’s just a matter of who charges your card.

I spoke with Lucid tech support and sent them a screenshot of my Lucid app (latest version) showing PnC was not activated. He’s supposed to get back to me.
