Battery Alert Call from Lucid Service

My car is currently at the service center having the HV battery replaced after a call from Lucid. I am glad they are proactive. Hoping to get the car back on Friday with a 2-week turnaround. It had a production date of May 2022 and currently has 28k miles. It appears to me from the forum that a batch of cars in that Q2-22 time frame may have this issue.

I also got the call to bring in my vehicle. Manufactured 8/22. Appointment was this Monday to drop it off. While driving to the appointment, it complained about DC charging unavailable, contact customer service. One minute later, battery system fault - vehicle powering down in 2 minutes Two minutes later, Vehicle not driveable - Do not tow. Contact customer service. Then the electric pedal had no more power and shutdown. Screens were still active. It's good it gave me 2 minutes of warning as it allowed me to get 1 block away from daycare before it shutdown.
 
Love the car so far, just had it wrapped. However, today I ran into some issuses after updating to 2.1.52. After the update completed I received a call from Lucid Service saying they received an alert from the battery.
I phoned them and they wanted to set up an appointment in a few weeks at the local service centre. I have a L2 charger that I use, however today the charging session would fail after 20-30 minutes.
Am I headed for disaster? Anyone experience anything like this?

Since no one else seems to have commented on it, the black matte wrap with the exposed white roof is super slick!

Seems like there are a wide range of manufactured dates affected but fortunately only a small number of cars. No clear trend in manufacturing dates has emerged
Again getting a new battery to start over with seems not so bad if it happens

Got the loaner, aaand it’s official:

“Good morning Arnel, I hope you're well. Our team had a chance to complete diagnosis on your vehicle and it appears we will indeed be replacing the high voltage battery pack on your vehicle due to an internal imbalance within the pack. This repair is fully covered under warranty, however will be quite the heavy job. The replacement pack is slated to arrive on Monday the 11th at which point we will be able to continue with repairs.”

At this point I don’t anticipate getting my car back until the end of next week.

Did they need to replace your Wunderbox?
 
Same date mine was manufactured. HV battery and rear drive unit went out in August 2023.
My Air Touring was March 2023 built.
I went service center last month for the left rear door wind noise but SA told me that the HV battery has some issue and might need to replace it. It ended up with replacing battery power module only and I picked the vehicle. However, I got a call from the Service Center and they said the vehicle alerted to the service center for the error. It is in Service now. They might replace HV battery this time
 
Got the HV call as well. Car scheduled April 1st for diagnostics. The good news is, Lucid will pick up the car. I have had two turtle events so I pray this time it will be fixed for good. Any chance of Lucid doing the right thing and offering us early dream adapters the option to buy a Sapphire at a huge discount? I am just saying !!!

I doubt it, but ask @Bill55. Poor guy has to slum it in his DE when his Sapphire is getting detailed! 😭
 
I just got the HV battery call as well. December 2022 Touring. Of course I'm leaving town tomorrow for 8 days which would have been perfect but not enough time for them to schedule a pick up prior to my departure. I had one turtle mode a few months ago that happened when I got in the car so I didnt drive it and then service said it was ok the same day and the turtle mode went away when I got back in the car.

I’m still waiting on the trade in program for the Sapphire. 😂 Have switched from trade in on Sapphire to waiting for an awesome Air DE trade in program for a Gravity DE.

Francisco is terrific! He was assigned to me when my car ultimately got its HV battery replacement. Happily for me, I got a Lucid loaner (Air GT), and my replacement HV battery took less time to be delivered than anticipated. The whole business of getting my HV battery replaced took a little over a week.

I hope all goes well and quickly with you.
 
Seems like a bummer to need a new battery but with a loaner GT not too bad
And now you get to start over with a new battery which is good deal
 
WTF is the HV battery ? The big one ?
