I mean I do want it now, and I want it fixed now, anyone who spends 100k+ on their car would , right? Maybe I am crazy, but looks like I got a Monday appointment, so until then I'll be using my credit card to jam open the door handle to get in and out, small inconvenience but they say I can't break it further.

Can’t you reach in and open the door from the rear? I think them getting back to you with a few hours is very reasonable. Price doesn’t have anything to do with being reasonable and setting appropriate expectations

Sounds like they got you an appointment as quick as they could. Monday is the next work day!
 
Today my passenger door handle is stuck and it’s clearly making a clicking noise like it’s trying to open but won’t open. Certainly seems a mechanical failure of the door handle of course the driver side door is the most used door handle on my car. With 12k miles on the car I was thinking also do the 1 year service too. I tried calling since 10am to get a service advisor about every 2-3 hours and still don’t have an appointment. Now I want to vent at least on Tesla I could get an appointment by now or Honda you will at least get an advisor to take your appointment. I don’t understand maybe it’s too filter some of the issues but when you call the service center you first speak to a front line person and they ask you some trouble shoot questions but they can’t schedule your service appointment, I find this pretty frustrating and doesn’t seem efficient to me. Shouldn’t that front line person be able to make service appointment. Why it’s frustrating is cause the actual service advisor maybe unavailable so the end result you call they just take your info and you as a customer don’t feel like you solve for your issue. Now let’s me respectfully contrast with Tesla they will at least let you schedule on their app, and someone will tell you the service center to go to and they also provide you upfront invoice for upcoming charges. I think at least in service Tesla is more likely to give you an appointment that’s my experience. And here I am with a broken door handle and no service after like 3 calls to Scottsdale service center. I can’t be the only person that expects something better than this.
My rear right passenger door got stuck a couple of weeks ago. I was unable to open that door from the outside. After researching online, I saw a suggestion to try to open the door from the inside. It worked. Once I did that the door seemed to "reset" and now operates properly. Worth a try.

It makes a bunch of clicks and looks like it attempts to open but doesn’t open. I can jam a credit card in and the handle manually lifts:

That’s a good question on whether I would have gotten next business day. It’s usually within 1 week but their app makes it seems like someone is doing something which gives you re assurance. They also give you an invoice before your appointment and let you know if knew parts are needed. So while you may not get an appointment right away you get the sense someone has got your case and working it. But I can try requesting service on Tesla and see what next spot I get to compare

So I requested service now it says within 2 hours someone will reach out and they started a chat with me. So in total that is a little bit better reaction time right?

My theory is I will get faster service but maybe it’s wrong. We are trying to bring to light the need to improve.

All car companies are struggling with repairs these days as there is a shortage of both parts and repair techs. But I think that companies like Lucid, that don't have hundreds of dealerships to service their cars, are struggling more. When I had a BMW I could always go right in for service and get an immediate loaner. Lucid is selling in the same space as BMW, MB, etc. so it needs to improve its service. But it is a new company and I, for one, do cut it some slack for that.

Ultimately, whether it is a Lucid, a Tesla or a Mercedes, if something breaks the owner should be able to get it right in and be provided a loaner. As a long time member of this forum, I can tell you that there has been very significant improvement in this regard by Lucid but it does still need to improve.

I don't know if this would address your issue, but I've had a few instances where I pull on the outside door handle and it won't open. If I go to the inside door handle, I can manually slide it all the way back until it physically unlatches the door, and after doing that it works fine again.

A couple of days ago I learned--almost the hard way--that driving in steady rain consumes a lot more battery than normal. In a trip from Sedona to Chandler, I used up 11% extra battery in 2 1/4 hrs of driving. I think it was because the wipers were on the entire time, but perhaps rolling resistance is a little higher cutting through rainy pavement as well?

I don't think that the wipers use much energy. The extra energy comes from the increased rolling resistance due to water on the road. Fortunately, we don't need to worry about it very often here in AZ but that is a pretty significant increase.

It’s worse with snow - that and running the heater. Last year I drive from Tucson to Pinetop during a small snowstorm. The most disconcerting part was the snow packing in the wheel well: you could hear the snow rubbing the tire - especially when speeding up. I don’t remember what range reduction I got, but I had charged to 500+ miles, so making the 200 mile trek was not problem.
