Are the 2025 builds getting better?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I feel more confident in the brand now.

I'm still on the fence, though. I'm looking at a Mustang Mach E GT as well.

The Lucid is clearly a better car, but is it 30k better? Obviously a personal decision. Tough call.
 
About to cross 2 years with my '22 GT and it's been absolutely rock solid mechanically. And the software has been getting better and better...
 
Well I have had my 2023 since July 7 2023. I've certainly had some quirky issues along the way but none of them were major drivetrain (electric motors or battery) issues and more about trim panels, a seat tear, wind noise, door trim coming unglued/undone and misc. stuff I'm likely more picky than most AND everything has been 100% addressed by warranty along with a free loaner.
To give you a front and center view of my vote of confidence, I took a 4500 mile road trip in December 2023 with it (at the time only 5 months old) and it was flawless. I had a rock hit a sensor so I had to have that replaced on my dime along with a warranty issue (at the time) regarding wind noise on the passenger side but it was promptly addressed when I returned.

I did also look at the MachE and hated the huge screen and just wasn't as impressed but if you love it, sure-- enjoy.

Another reason I wasn't confident in the MachE is the battery issues it was having plus being the pouch cell instead of the cylindrical cell. Am I being paranoid? Perhaps but I literally felt I had 3 options-- Tesla, Rivian or Lucid (all using cylindrical batteries instead of pouch cell)

Only you can determine this. Unfortunately in my car hasn't been rock solid like others. Lucid is coming to pick my car up again for repeated attempts to repair the same issues.
 
'24 Pure with 5k miles. Frunk and trunk needed alignment but that has been the only issue (which in my opinion was a factory QC issue not a general quality issue). Service process was breeze.

Which is "better" is subjective, but I think engineering and build quality is impressive.

Oh yes. I drove the Lucid twice (pure and touring) and the Mustang once. Problem is, my first test drive was with a Touring that had a creaking steering wheel and terrible wind noise. Didn't feel like a 80k car. Then I drove the Mach E, I was convinced that was the car for me, felt more solid and had more features for way less. Then I found this forum and learned more about Lucid. I also started thinking about range in the winter with no heat pump on the Mach E and I got concerned. Decided to try the Lucid with a metal roof, so they put me in Pure (no demo touring with metal). That one was much better built. So now I'm stuck with analysis paralysis. Had the first car been solid, I probably would have bought already.

I think I like the aggressive look of the Mach-E a little better. I wasn't really looking for an SUV, but could be ok with the practicality of that. Both cars felt similar in acceleration. Didn't really throw it into enough corners to comment on handling. Love the range and luxury of the lucid, but is that worth 30k to me? Probably, but just having trouble pulling the trigger.

I'm strongly considering a Touring, but having trouble pulling the trigger. It seems like everyone here has had issues at one point or another because of the company's growing pains. Seems like everyone, even the satisfied customers, have had .a loaner at some point. It didn't help that my test drive car had a creaking wheel, which led me to find this forum and then I see all these other issues with the car.

I know this is a small and biased sample and I tell myself that these are earlier builds and the 25s probably have the kinks worked out. But I have a hard time paying almost 100k for a car that might be more work for me. I'm busy enough as it is.

So anyone with a 2025 build? Have the little problems been fixed? Is the car more reliable now?
I've had my 2024 Touring for 3 months and so far so good. Initially, some hiccups, but software updates fixed it. Also dreaded wind noise coming from drivers side, but mobile tech fixed it too. All in all, I am pretty happy...
 
2022 Grand touring here. Coming up on two and a half years with 41 k miles. I had an early car so a few problems. New battery at 12k miles, new front motor at14 k miles, one new door actuator and car just went in for driveline fault message, waiting for service to diagnose. Still just a great car from a company with a few teething problems I will still put money down on a Gravity in 6 months and sell my Air. As Frank said “ regrets I had a few, but then again too few to mention “

I took delivery of a 2025 GT in late August; Lucid informed me that my VIN was the first '25 GT delivered in the southeast US. I have had so many issues with the car that I had to compose a list on my phone, with "Since [date/version]" to help isolate the cause of each one.

- Lane Departure Protection re-enabling itself while the car is asleep. I manually disabled it on day one, and occasionally I get forced back to my original lane and realize it was mysteriously active once again.
- Driver door soft-close works intermittently since 2.3.10. All other doors work perfectly.
- SiriusXM disconnects on a regular basis. Supposedly it uses AT&T for reception; my phone also uses this network and has no issues in the same areas. Probably an issue with the trunk-embedded antenna, according to my remote service technician.
- Speaker system cannot be muted by scrolling to 0 volume. It even shows a mute symbol; this means nothing. You will still hear music. Only solution is to press the pause button on the steering wheel for actual silence, or hope your audio source disconnects from reception issues as it tends to do anyway.
- Audio occasionally becomes totally distorted. Even the sounds of opening menus in the Pilot Panel will be distorted and glitchy. There is also white noise every time you press buttons/menus. Only current solution is to pull over and perform a Logo Reset, as customers call it.
- Keyfob will almost certainly drain itself if you do not keep it in some sort of faraday container at home.
- If you drive in any kind of rain, the front LIDAR sensor (which I've been told is not actually used for anything right now) will become "blocked" and produce errors while driving. This is a known issue, but they haven't bothered to eliminate the meaningless error notifications, for whatever reason.
- Steering wheel creaking, which I honestly don't make enough U-turns to care about.

Oh and on October 4th, the Rear Drive Unit failed while I was on I-95 near Jacksonville and it blew the Pyro Fuse and damaged the MPB. "Vehicle Not Drivable - Drive System Error". Riviera Beach Service Center just completed work on it today, and it was re-delivered to me about two hours ago. Odometer at time of failure was 1,646 miles. It sat on the side of the interstate for 39 hours before a properly-equipped tow truck arrived to relocate the vehicle. I'll probably make a new thread detailing this debacle later on.

But hey, when it does drive, it does so like a dream. If all of the smaller problems had popped up with a hundred hours or a few thousand miles in between each one, I'd hardly care. But instead, they have all been present and unresolved since a day or two after delivery.

So many of those small issues are common among all cars. Nothing to do with 2025. I wouldn't consider any of them big deals, personally, other than RDU failure.

The Mach E is indeed a nice vehicle; definitely a head turner and the ride quality is fantastic ( friend of mine has one) . I guess one ( of many ) superb things about owning a Lucid is the chance to support a relatively fledgling company and be a part of a wonderful community.
I personally think the Lucid’s ride quality is better, kind of like floating down the road.
The software has progressed miles and the damn thing is just so much fun to drive. Lucid will take good care of you, hiccups and all. I am over 800 miles from a service center and mobile service has been exemplary; I have only needed them for minor issues and scheduled service .

That's good to hear. Seems like everyone has minor issues, but that's common with most cars. I've just been lucky and have never had build issues with any car I've ever had.

It's good to hear the customer service is great. Although I live near Chicago and on the forums here, it sounds like that region is a little overwhelmed.
Im not sure where you’re getting that info. I’ve never had trouble getting an appointment from Goose Island. They seemed wide open when I made it. I live in the burbs and my car is there now for regular maintenance and a warranty item. They came to my house and swapped mine for a loaner; easy!
 
So many of those small issues are common among all cars. Nothing to do with 2025. I wouldn't consider any of them big deals, personally, other than RDU failure.
Individually yes, but this many issues right out the gate reflects poorly on the OEM's QA processes.

That's good to hear. It's rare to see anyone complain about customer service on this forum, but the few complaints I have seen have been in the Chicago area. Still a small number, and things happen.

Don’t get the Mach E, Lucid software is much better and they update software quite often, Lucid ride is amazing for a car that heavy. It is considered as the electric BMW M5….you will feel more special going with the Lucid. If you can afford, believe me, get the Lucid Pure! They added heat pump, upgraded hardware. You don’t see these improvements with a Ford that often. I’ve never regretted my purchase. The best sport sedan in the market! Even now, after 2 years I look back at my car as I walk away!
