Yay Hardware upgrade CPU and memory

After CCCv2 installation ..note that the ambient lighting gets turned off ..I had to go into themes and turn the thing on ..another one of the redo items after install...

Oh and also...the cameras boot up WAY faster...my mobile key opened the car when I was like 15 feet away...never happened before....I'm noticing a bunch of small but highly desirable features and performance improvements....those saying they don't think they need the upgrade are....what's the word ....wrong...! I kid...

I’m in the Boston area. Up until recently they always denied my mobile service requests because they claimed they didn’t have a mobile tech. That could be the issue for you service center
Thanks for the feedback.

Just got my Air back from the CCCv2 install. As advertised, much faster response from the touchscreens. Loading of playlists in Spotify and Tidal are improved as well. The most interesting and surprising improvement is how much better surreal sound pro is. The car was completely reset, and bass, midrange and treble were in the middle. It now has a much better distribution of sound from all the speakers.

As for the downsides, as previously mentioned, everything was reset. Had to recreate the profiles, pair phones, pair mobile keys, log into all the streaming apps and reprogram homelink.

If you are keeping your Air, highly recommend this upgrade!

Regarding the increased performance of passive unlocking, I don't think this has anything to do with CCCv2. I had a separate piece of hardware, the security node module, which handles the key access, go bad in my car, back in October of last year. Since that replacement, and through all the software updates, it has been very stable.

Security Node Replacement

Anyone else waiting on a back order for this upgrade? Maybe they are on hold with some of the post install issues?

I got the upgrade just today. I was on back order for a bit. I don’t think anything is on hold…the tech I worked with mentioned he had a fair amount of folks that wanted these, just not enough hardware yet to to do them all.

After upgrading to new CCCV2 processor, my 2023 GT will no longer connect to any WiFi. Tried hard resets and soft resets but still no luck.
Service tech visited. He found that my CCCv2 unit needed a software upgrade that wasnt installed. He installed it, we did a hard-reset, and all is well. No more Wifi issues.
Things are snappier now. I've tried the hands-free dream drive a bit. Sometimes it is available, and sometimes it's not available but the older self drive is. Not sure why. But when available it works nicely.

I just received my upgrade this week and honestly I have to say that I haven't noticed much difference. I never really noticed much lag in my infotainment system, although Maps was a bit slow to load and now it's just a little bit faster . Maybe 20 or 30% faster but nothing mind-blowing. My car unlocks at the same consistency as before which is to say not that great with my phone. Even with my key I didn't notice any significant Improvement in the unlocking.

I did notice today that for the first time I had Bluetooth phone connectivity issues such that I couldn't hear my caller . That's never happened before. I also noticed that my hands-free and driving assistant capabilities went away . I hope they come back . I'm not sure if these are just software glitches or maybe related to my upgrade.

Overall I would say that unless you have significant lagging in your infotainment system , I don't think that this upgrade is worth it. When I upgraded my model X to the mcu2 chip with it I got the capability of streaming Netflix which made a big difference along with higher resolution and noticeably faster load times. With this upgrade I'm honestly not noticing anything that is significantly different especially to warrant the price

I have a 2022 AGT for reference

Well as my car will be traded in to lucid in a few months for a Gravity so not a consideration. I’m glad they are upgrading the original car. My AC is barely adequate but the newer cars have the heat pump. I’m guessing the Gravity should have most of these hard fought lessons incorporated

Thanks for confirming my bias. I put that thousand dollars to another use - a deposit on a Gravity GT.

I had the upgrade last week. For me, the most noticeable improvement is the map as others pointed out. And profile switching. That is A LOT faster. The map near-instantly loads and then routes immediately when you click Home or Work shortcuts. Also the map panning is incredible. Even with satellite images loading. So much smoother and quicker response.

I plan on keeping the GT for a bit longer so that influence my decision to keep it up to date with the upgrade. Mrs. TakeDuo is not doing the upgrade on the Pure as she has her eyes set on Gravity soon 😎.

I have an appointment for the CCC upgrade later this month. The Gravity is tempting but just too much car for the two of us. I plan to ride the Lucid to the end, just like my Pioneer Kuro plasma TV 🤣. The results maybe minimal now, but I view it as a little future-proofing.

Wondering what you got for trade in value for your air? I also would like to trade in my air for a gravity but I suspect I won't be happy with the trade in value Esp since I bought at the original (very) high price

Same here, paid the MAX before they started dropping the price and now there are others for sale at 50% or more off with very low mileage.
