Yay Hardware upgrade CPU and memory

Profile switching *way* faster. Takes only like 5-6 seconds now. Keyless entry is the same.

One note: when you get the upgrade, you’ll have to set up all of your profiles and settings again, so take that into consideration.
Just got mine back today, and boy is this aggravating. It seems they could have backed up the profile and restored it to the new hardware. Seat/mirror/steering wheel settings, Apple CarPlay, garage door opener... everything has to be redone.

The seat and steering wheel positions are quickly saved back to your profile as long as they weren’t moved while the module was being replaced. They should not have been moved since install take place on the passenger side.

Homelink took the longest to restore for me however it went much faster than when I first programmed it.

Just a follow up...seems like my hands free is NOT working properly. I went on a slightly longer road trip and I have been getting constant errors regarding both mirrors being blocked, hands free sensors blocked, my face isn't detected and the hands free instantly shutting off. May or may not be related to the new console upgrade...I have a service appointment beginning of next month.

Is the steering wheel low enough that you can see all of the face sensor under the driver's display? This position will block the upper part of the display by approximately the steering wheel's thickness.

I'm a bit confused. I'm scheduled to get the new chip next month, but KOP says it can only be donen at the SC while several people have said they had it done via mobile service. Could those who had it installed via mobile service state where mobile service came to do the installation? Thank you.

This is a helpful tip for those of us who haven't had the install yet - I shall turn off "easy entry" before I get it done, so that the driver's seat doesn't move!

I have the hardware upgrade and I like the response, however a minor issue I just discovered is when waking the car from the app, I get the spinning circle that it's still thinking but the doors unlock as if it's awake! That was the goal to unlock the doors but why the spinning, as if it has not completed the task

I’m in the Boston area. Up until recently they always denied my mobile service requests because they claimed they didn’t have a mobile tech. That could be the issue for you service center

I'm assuming you have phone as key set up? PAK works locally via Bluetooth. Most other functions require the phone to communicate with Lucid's servers, and the servers to contact the car via the car's cellular modem or WiFi. The spinning circle is during the time it takes to make these server connections, but unlocking the car is done via Bluetooth.

I called KoP after I received the email promotion from Lucid (Owner's Club).
I gave up after receiving a "no, and it doesn't do anything anyway" vibe. Got the sense they were annoyed I even asked.
They did send Mobile Service out to fix door handle = fixed in minutes.

I've had an appointment for mid-Sept for awhile, but today received a message that the chips are on "back order". So I guess we'll see if they can keep the appointment for about a month from now,

Weird problem for me, I got CCCv2 upgraded, car is on 2.8.0 but now a new issue, left half of the dashboard screen (i.e. anything behind the steering and left side) boots up very late. This has happened twice in 10-15 times I've used the car since the upgrade. I've reported this to Customer Service and they had usual answer "Boot" the car once, it "might go away". But contacting the Mobile Service, he mentioned this side of the panel is controlled by another computer. We'll investigate this in next two weeks time.
I have this same issue occasionally. But I am still on CCCv1. It isn't a lot--but it happens once every 20-30 times I go to drive. CCCv2 upgrade scheduled a week from now, though I suspect it isn't related but I can update if I notice any difference once done.

I can't personally see much reason to update to CCCv2, as I don't think my infotainment lag times warrant the expense. If in time, CCCv2 becomes necessary to activate something that was part of the stated feature set when I bought my car, I'm trusting that Lucid will do the right thing and provide the upgrade free of charge. As examples, if part of the original DDP feature set were to require it, then I think it should be provided, but not for something like sentry mode, since it was not a stated feature at the time. The oddly gray area is if CCCv2 proves necessary in order to get the Lucid app's auto open function to work as it should. Given that this seems to be the main customer sat issue for many owners, I think Lucid would be wise to toss it in.

Unrelated, except perhaps as a side effect of faster processing speed. But no, not the main issue.

The main thing you’ll see is just speed increases overall and greater responsiveness.

I agree, for many, it isn’t worth it. For those who like to update their phones every year or two, or buy new computers as theirs start to show a couple years of age, it’s great.

IF the faster processing speed of CCCv2 was significant enough to pretty much resolve the slow auto-open issue, then I would stand by my statement that Lucid would be wise to simply perform the substitution gratis. If it's an almost insignificant improvement, then not... at least as far as this particular feature is concerned.

As much money as Lucid spends on economic conscessions in order to build its customer base, I think it would be worth the added expenditure to resolve an issue that a significant percentage of that base is quite sullen about.

It wouldn't change the frequency for those who are having issues. When you don't have an issue, it responds a little faster, but if you're having issues anyway, those issues are likely to persist regardless of which version of the CCC you use, as something else is likely interfering or going wrong. That's all I was saying.

It's not a 'fix' for mobile key/fob issues if people have them. I didn't have mobile key issues, and my mobile key responds slightly faster, so in that sense, it's great. But the response time was already pretty fast, and I wouldn't have upgraded just for that.

I'm in the San Diego area. The new chip upgrade was done by mobile service at my house. It was about a three hour appointment. He did some other small fixes as well.
And yes, everything had to be reset, but I had read that before the install, so I was expecting it. The mobile service tech set up homelink for me. Which is cool because it wasn't even set up before this appointment.

Thanks. Sounds like I, and a lot of other people with app-related auto open issues no matter where they are, need to report some other hardware issue to customer service.
