Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Touring

Good news for those of you “in production” - after eight days looking at that on the dashboard (mine still says that), I found out today that my car is in Costa Mesa and will be undoing inspection shortly. Looks like delivery hopefully early next week!
Lucky you. Mine has been in production on my dashboard for 6 days now but my DA told me it will be scheduled for production in January.

Weird. Why say “in production” then? On the plus side, the actual production of the car once it begins apparently only takes a couple days.

Just heard from my DA - my car is not actually in production, my dashboard update was a system glitch. Oh well…

In Production does not mean your car is still being built or far out from delivery. It is just somewhere between complete build, post build, and transport etc.
Just got a text from my DA indicating my vehicle is pending transport at this time. They have a meeting later today to discuss all vehicles that are pending movement and looking into expediting. She plans to contact me later today after that meeting. Delivery is tentative scheduled for the 22nd in Costa Mesa. My dashboard status shows In Production.

As a reference, I got my VIN Monday the 12th. Quantum Grey, Tahoe Interior, 21”.

Looks like all exterior colors except for white have at least some VINs assigned for the Tahoe interior. I wonder if that’s being batched soon 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yup. I can't even start my financing or insurance search w/o the Vin# or purchase agreement. I'll likely stick with State Farm since they have my mortgage but I'd still like to shop around for the best price.
I was able to get a quote without VIN from Travelers. They had lucid and models in their system. My VIN has not yet shown up in their system. Said this was not unusual since the car was so new.

I received a call from Ariel this morning. She informed me that my Touring was completed yesterday. For reference, I just checked my account, and it still shows In Production. I asked about the PA; she said she will have access to that information when the car is shipped from Casa Grande to Costa Mesa. She expects that to be early next week (working 6 days but off Mondays). She will try to have my vehicle delivered by Christmas but for sure before EOY.

Those here with Zenith Red exterior: You may want to contact your DA.

Put me down as delivered! So excited!!!

🎉🎉🎉

As an aside on the tracker my reservation date shows when I upgraded to touring. My original reservation was March 7th. Not sure what date you want on there.

That Santa Cruz is stunning! Second only to Santa Monica in the Dream Edition in my humble opinion! Congratulations!

Email the CEO, COO- this is unaaceptable! That will light a fire under their butts! Maybe even tweet.
So, got a call from my DA today with some slow but good progress. He asked me to open a new separate Lucid account with my info which I did immediately, and their IT team will transfer the order from my son‘s account to my new account. He expects the order transfer to be completed by end of day today…fingers crossed. I reminded him that before Christmas delivery is still the target before I have to re-evaluat, since there has been broken promises in the past.

BTW - if I had the CEO or COO’s email addresses, I would have written an epistle letter to them…lol. Unfortunately, I don’t believe their email addresses are public info, unless someone has it and can share.

Congrats..I can’t find your earlier posts…is your car a ZR? I’m waiting for a ZR/SC

Russell Spaeth - he was gone last week but he’s busy working now.
Have you received email for Purchase agreement and invite to pay? I sent him my insurance card. Shortly afterwards I got the PA email. Another hour later I got invite to pay.

Did you get delivery date before sending your insurance? Asking to find out how you determine the insurance start date for the vehicle? Thanks

Congratulations. You sped past my ZR/SC VIN on 9th. I Expect delivery after Christmas.

I just received (and signed) my PA and invite to pay this afternoon. ZR/Tahoe, VIN assigned and showed "in production" on Dec 9th. I still haven't heard from my DA since VIN assignment, so I'm not sure what my car's actual status is. He's supposed to give me an update today or tomorrow. At least things are moving in the right direction.

Excellent question.

Excellent question.
What my DA had me do was estimate a delivery date that was further out (In my case, Dec 20th) and just let the insurance broker know that it will likely change when I get a firm date. They were happy to do that for me.

Turns out, December 20 is actually the date I expect the car now. So no need to update it.
