Well it’s official….. Peter is just as bad as Elon! Promised features would be turned on in January and didn’t do it. Seems like he should look in his own backyard before criticizing others. From the production issues, software issues and now not delivering on his email to customers about DreamDrive features being enabled in January they seem to be following the footsteps of Tesla. Lucid does not have the runway that Tesla had. There is an avalanche of EVs from manufactures who know how to make cars at scale coming soon. After years of promise, soon is 2022 and 2023. Lucid quality is impressive compared to Tesla. It's just ok compared to Honda or Toyota or ....

I agree, but Toyota has been so late to the game. Mr. Toyoda had to be dragged, kicking, clawing & screaming into the world of EVs. It's only recently he's seen the inevitable. He banked on alternative fuels that didn't quite work out. However once Lexus releases a real deal luxury EV, you can bet it won't have the teething problems we're seeing here.
Was the expectation that Lucid would release a car as refined as Lexus/Toyota as a new company?

Wasn't speaking to expectations, but rather to facts. Of course expectations should have been adjusted for a new company, but it is what it is.
Peter did a great job of redefining expectations when he said last May that they were delaying deliveries "to get the car right" after a PE guy told them that it was in their best interest to do so. He never said what that meant or what was "not right" at that time. Speculation was supply chain or software, but we know how well they communicate. I would have expected deficiencies, but I expected fewer involving basic tasks after that self-imposed delay.
I'm not entirely sure that will be true. Wouldn't we all agree that VW has a lot of manufacturing expertise, yet they are having quite a few issues with their EVs...same can be said of Ford and Porsche and GM...basically everyone?

Yeah, the biggest issue is the motor train. Existing auto manufacturers are struggling to make EV motortrains that aren’t garbage, plus don’t yet understand how to do OTA updates on a frequent basis.
My suspicion is you’ll see a lot of “Ford…powered by Lucid” eventually as they license the tech.

I have had three incidents with frozen screens. I don't recall the first, but the last two seem to happen right after requesting directions and a blue speech line on the screen appears prior to freezing. The car continues to drive so I am wondering why the car does not have a soft reset like the TESLA where a reset can be done while driving by holding down the two steering wheel buttons together for ten seconds. Should be simple to incorporate into the Lucid Air as well and save the PITA of having to stop, get out of the car, and lock it for a reset.

I doubt it. Tesla offered this along with access to the supercharger network and no one took them up on it. If Lucid thinks they'll get a tonne of revenue from licensing then they have their heads in the clouds. The only licensing deals I would see if from a new startup and we all know how tough it is to succeed as a startup.

Well, they have the Formula E pedigree going for them compared to a normal startup..

Our new-generation 2011 Honda Odyssey was delivered with a windshield that had noticeable distortion along the passenger side A pillar. It took Honda several months to correct the problem with the supplier, but my windshield was never replaced. The car also had a problem with its gear shifting algorithm that took Honda over a year to correct with a software update, meaning we drove for all that time with a late-shifting and grabby transmission.
Our new-generation 2018 Honda Odyssey has a rear passenger sliding door that frequently freezes partway open or partway closed. Honda issued a recall, but the recall did not resolve the problem in our vehicle. Subsequent service visits have still not resolved the problem, as Honda can never duplicate the malfunction in their shop. Shortly after Honda Service replaced the battery in the key fob a few months ago, the key fob quit unlocking the vehicle upon approach most times. I now often have to hit the unlock button on the fob to get into the car.
I got a letter from Honda yesterday about a "Multi-Model 3G OTA TCU Software Update". It said the 3G network will no longer support in-vehicle services and that, unless I downloaded new software by February 22, I would have to pay for this update. Of course, the update did not download properly (perhaps because of iffy LTE signals at our house), and I now have a service appointment for tomorrow to have the dealer do the download.
I like Hondas, but color me less than blown away by their quality.
Keep in mind Toyota has been making Hybrids for over a decade. Aren't' VW Porsche and other new to the Hybrid game?
On a side note..or not, the latest update corrected an issue with the cabin and outdoor temperature being displayed incorrectly. Thats what the service guys told me
