Any company that doesn't take advantage of customers willing to help in the launch of new products is missing out on a golden opportunity to improve their products quickly and efficiently.

This is particularly true if any technology company, but especially a company that includes software as a main element in their products.

How about it creating a bigger beta test group involving your customers, Lucid? There's a good number of sophisticated technology folks here ready and willing to help.

Every opportunity to get feedback from helpful customers is critical to building to products with superior customer satisfaction.
if you listened to the Software guy yesterday on the NVDA Conference he said they are already downloading terrabytes of data from us and can anticipate what we need before we even need it 😂. SPACEFORCE!
 
Just kidding!!! fixes the AC turning off randomly and some stuff with the LiDAR and Communication

Actually no. Why doesn't the app tell us what version is currently installed. I guess I need to check the car to be sure?
 
One thing I've learned in my years of software development is never assume anything is simple. Without looking at their stack, we have no idea how complicated pushing out updates actually is for Lucid.

SHOULD it be simple? Yes. But a whole lot of things went wrong in the lead up to the launch of this car, particularly in the software realm. It's not a stretch to look at the fundamental issues with the OS and extrapolate that the update process is likely also pretty borked at the moment.

If it were easy for them to push the updates out to everyone in a day, believe me, they'd be doing it.

Just as a point of reference, my Tesla often gets updates several days to a week after a friend's Model Y who lives in the same area as me. Other times, I get it before he does. So even companies doing this for a while don't have systems that push out updates in a day. (I know, Tesla has many more cars on the road, blah blah.)
I agree with you that the timing is very random. I received the 1.2.17 earlier than some others but now crickets for 1.2.18.

Again what is it giving us? Anything useful that we would feel/recognize?

Yes my question and frustration as well if the only way to tell is to look in the Car!

Yeah I wish the app told you the software version too (cc @Firstto520 )

But I’m 99% sure it was likely 1.2.185
 
Even that is too slow. They should be able to push to every car made in a day. For one they need to go back and use the old Windows technique download a small packet to alert you and the download then starts. I get this warranty thing but it can't be that hard to send out files the size of a cute cat video in a text message.
It was explained to me that they batch the push in small groups, so that if there are issues it only affects small groups of people.
 
It fixes the small back seats and cheap floor matt issues…. I kid!
Would be nice but even they can’t fix those. Cheap Floor Mats and Cramped rear seat it is for now 😂. For a moment I thought you were also calling me “kid”. 😝. Keep up that sense of humor.

I thought Lucid was simply staggering OTA notifications; however, it seems like the timing of notifications and updates is based on how quickly people are downloading the update. Here's a conversation I had with Customer Service. Lucid's responses are in bold.

One question I had was, how long does it take Lucid to push out all of the updates/notifications?
A few weeks ago I was several updates behind, despite my About menu saying that the car was up to date. So, I was wondering, would a week be a reasonable amount of time to wait after an update is released to contact customer service if I don’t receive a notification?

I think you have a great question, unfortunately, I don’t have an answer because updates change in size and installation time. ...About the only thing I can share is the amount of updates sent at a time. This number varies to 75 to 140 deployments at a time. The variation is based on cars responding to the connection.

This is correct.

There should be a pop-op that says, new version available then when you get to a WI-FI, you can download it. Problem is car says up to date and you can be 5 versions behind and not know it. I have tried asking the exact same question you did as to how often should we call CS to ask for updates when the car refuses to download them…. I have yet to receive a good answer. Problem is that is you are not on a forum chat group then you dont know if there are even any new updates.
