Gravity Delivery Discussion

I found lots of Green and Black Gravity at the factory today. Lucid stages cars on both the Southeast and Southwest sides of the factory. Today is the first time observing Gravity on the East side. In fact no Airs on the East side.

This group on the East side appears to have NACS ports:

This larger group on the East side appears to be CCS but the majority of Gravity parked the wrong direction to see:

These two are the West side staging lots. In the past, most of the Gravity were at the North end of this lot. There are fewer on the North end but probably more mixed in with Air on the South portion of the lot.

I will post more along with a video link on the flyover thread later today.
So are those cars marked as “in production” still? I would expect “yes” and we have no idea, but I am curious.

Any deliveries scheduled this week or next? Or did they get everything out on Monday? I’ve been told by my SA they will ship mine some time next week. Not sure what that means regarding a delivery date.

Also does anyone have any experience yet with the towing package? It’s the first time for lucid. Hoping this works as advertised.

Sort of ridiculous but expected. This is the really ridiculous part:

So, two bikes on a vehicle that can hold 7 people...

I was told today mine was out of production and inspection was next. No timeline for getting the car to CA as yet.

Hmm, a little strange.

A class 1 hitch (2,000 lb towing max) should allow 200 pounds of tongue weight. A class 2 is 3,500 towing max and 350 lb tongue weight. It’s not obvious to me how they engineered a 110 lb max tongue weight when their towing max is 6,000 pounds.

I am pretty sure a software update won’t improve the tensile strength of the hitch receiver. Something is off here.

The 600lb maximum tongue weight is measured at the hitch ball. Accessory weight is much farther out and puts a huge lever on the tiny attachment point that this style of hitch has.
Other vehicles with the same style hitch also have low max accessory weight (for example the Model X has a dongle hitch and a max of 120lbs whereas the Model Y has an integrated hitch and has a max of 160lbs.)
All to avoid a seam in the black plastic of the lower bumper cover...

Do you know what date your car started production?
I don't, sorry. I switched from a DE last week and they matched my to this on Thursday. The SA wasn't clear if it was out of production already, just that a VIN was assigned and it was gettable.

Cool, thanks for educating me on that.

Mine was supposed to deliver either tomorrow or Tuesday. My SA and her manager have gone silent and frankly I'm tired of pulling teeth to get information from them. I was told the vehicle was going to arrive in Torrance on Saturday and I was to hear from the store manager on Sunday. Heard nothing and then on Monday was told by my SA that the vehicle didn't arrive until Monday. Manager was supposed to call me yesterday and once again, I heard nothing, and still nothing as of 5:15 today. I'm done getting my hopes up based on incorrect information and now I'm just going to wait until they tell me it's ready to pick up in Costa Mesa.

I am in Phoenix. I was told mine was out of production on 6/18 and have not been able to get any info since. :(

Well, we had a change of plan. Due to a scheduling snafu our Gravity DE did not make it to Naples before the PPF wrap shop that was receiving it closed, so it was brought to our house instead. We've spent the evening trying to see how much ground we could cover with setting up the software.

We got WiFi connected and a good many of the preferences set up before the lower screen and the right side of the upper screen blacked out. We went into the house for a while to see if the system would reboot itself. As it did not, we had to call Lucid Customer Care to find out how to do a reboot, which was easy enough (press the cancel button on the left side of the squircle and the voice assistant button on the right side while holding down the brake pedal).

We were able to get Tidal working properly through the native app (and the sound system was great), although the Delivery Advisor Monday said we could only stream from our phones at present. We were unsuccessful with getting Spotify to work.

We have not tried to set up Homelink yet. (Odd story there. We have to back the car out of the garage to get a ladder under the overhead door motor housings to calibrate the roaming codes, but it was dark and we routinely have gators cross our driveway each evening as they move from the lake on one side of the house to the swamp on the other. So Homelink is a daytime job.) But I asked Customer Care if there was any reason it should not work. They said it should, but they had already had four calls today from new owners saying Homelink could not be set up, so Lucid has started a discussion with Homelink to see what's going on.

When we tried out the Navigation system, we found the car thinks it is in Arizona. Same thing with the time zone. Although we activated the button to set the time zone based on the GPS signal in Florida, the car is still showing Pacific time. Customer Care could not figure out how to fix that problem and has put in service request. They looked at their end to see where the car location was showing, and it was in the ocean off the hook of Africa.

I programmed the car to charge up to 80% from the 72% it was at. It began charging and I went into the house. About a half hour later I got a phone notification that charging had stopped "Due to Optimized Charging" and would resume and finish by 5:30 a.m. (We do not have peak rates, so I do not use the scheduled charging feature.) I went out to the car to check. It was chugging happily away, was at 79%, and showing charging would complete in 10 minutes. I have no idea what that notification was about.

So . . . we got some ground covered since Monday's patchy experience at the Miami Service Center, but there'e still work to be done.

Now that’s a reason I thought I’d never hear, gators stopping you from setting up your homelink 😂

Homelink is hit and miss on so many cars eke. Setting it up. The Air, worked with pointing the remote at the car. The Gravity (similar to previous Audi’s I owned), needed to hit the learn button on the opener and set up that way. The Air was the simplest Homelink setup I’d had, every other car it’s been finicky but once it’s setup it always works.

The proximity option is good. When I enter the court now the door is opening pretty much as I pull up to the driveway.

I know how to fix this! Hold the car up and wave it around in a figure eight motion. After a few seconds it will recalibrate. 😁

Nice house but you need to move haha.

So I’m confused, the reboot fixed your black screen or no?

Nah. Great neighbors.

And yep, the reboot restored the screens. A good bit quicker than in the Air, too.

FWIW, if you install a ratgdo you can just hit the learn button via software :)

But then you also don’t need Homelink 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, one nice feature of ratgdo; I use it whenever setting up Homelink for the same reason: finding the ladder and running back and forth in 30 seconds lol, minus the gators :p
