We are nice enough to have an owner volunteer to do an AMA about their ownership experience with the Gravity so far.

Please post a question but also if your question has been asked, please vote it up so the most sought after questions are at the top of the list.

Anything off topic or not a question will be deleted. Keep this organized!

I carried a 7-footer in my Air, so I'd be extremely surprised if you couldn't.

Air smelled like Pine for months, lol

No roof rack?

I am in the northeast! But that vehicle makes it hard to put things on the roof. They get squished.

I have the same car, jered, and really wish I had a roof rack again, for both the annual tree, and occasional lumber (I'd also be more likely to lease the Air if it had a hitch installation option)

Yes... It also automatically folds down with the left seat (middle row), but you can leave the left and right seats up and lower the middle seat. Does that answer your question? :)

That was exactly what I was asking! Thank you so much!

And the picture shows it well.

Thank you again for all those seat measurements. They are incredibly telling how much room there is.

Ooh; I have a question I haven't seen yet!

What fake sound does the Gravity make when moving at low speed? My EV is a 2019 and pre-dates the late-2019 NHTSA pedestrian warning sound requirement.

I haven't noticed most vehicles, but some brand (that drives by my house often, maybe Toyota?) makes a weird LOUD hovering spaceship sound and it is literally the most annoying sound ever. I hate it.

borski's wagon needs wood panels to make it perfect!

So Lucid amazes me again on their attention to functionality:
Everyone take a look at the upper right portion of the opening left in the seat back when the middle seat of the 2nd row is folded. Notice how the post that is part of the locking mechanism isn’t intruding into the pass through, potentially acting as a hang-up, like it does on the BMW iX? (Something my wife and child noticed in the BMW)

Someone at Lucid was thinking practically, and that is something I really appreciate! Like the rear interior sill being higher than the rear door “rubber” weather seal to help the seal not be damaged.

Assuming it's the same, the Air's low-speed sound is definitely hovering spaceship, but I wouldn't call it loud. I can't hear it at all from the inside with the windows up, and from the outside I'd say it's just loud enough to notice from maybe 20ft away. I know what you're talking about, I can hear some EVs from across a crowded parking lot. Air is not one of them. If you listen next time a newer Tesla passes by in a parking lot, I'd say it's pretty close to the same.

Same sound, yeah. It’s a little louder in the Gravity than the Air, I presume because it’s a larger car, but there’s less-to-no motor whine, so 🤷‍♂️

I actually want a little bit of noise. My Tesla S makes no noise whatsoever, and frequently when I am driving to pick my kid up from school on the narrow school drive, unsuspecting students or teachers will just walk down the middle of the road with no idea that I have been behind them, annoyed, for 20 yards or more.

That’s… illegal? My understanding is that all EVs, across the country, must make that sound (used to be *a* sound, now it’s *that* sound, though I could be wrong) anytime they are traveling below 20mph.

Or is your S older than when the regulation was written?

(I’m not accusing or anything, of course, just curious)

I took delivery in September 2017. Looks like the regs went into place in 2018 based on the quick google search I just did.
Phased in starting 2019, with 100% required in 2020. I have an October 2019 Model X that is silent. (Well, it's not silent. But it doesn't make alien noises.)

I was hoping that being silent, still having radar and ultrasonic sensors, and the vertical display (plus lifetime free supercharging and "FSD") would all give me a good trade-in or resale value, but the market has totally tanked for the obvious reasons. At this point I might just keep it... at least for a few months in case there are weird issues with the Gravity.

We broached the subject of "we might be getting a new car" to the 5 year old today. It did NOT go well. He really likes the doors (which actually work pre-refresh). He considers it "his car". Of course, whenever he sees a CT he asks if we can get one, so there's no accounting for taste and that might also indicate the target market...

I asked my sales rep for recommendations of home charger, as the current Air charger doesn't work on Gravity, she didn't have any recommendation. Not sure if this question has already been asked, I would like to know what third party chargers do current owners use to change their Gravity and if there are any recommendations. Thanks.

There's only one current owner of the Gravity that we know about on this site. That said, i think there is a level 2 adaptor that comes with Gravity.

I have a Tesla L2 charger at my house for my current vehicle; I will be using that. Pretty lucky for me....

I'd like to think that will be sorted out by the time Gravities are delivering to more people, but in the meantime, Grizzl-E EVSEs are pretty highly regarded and they have a new 80A NACS one (Grizzl-E Cyber Ultimate 80A). If you can forgive them for calling it "Cyber" after the truck.

Where has it been stated that the current Air charger doesn't work on Gravity? If that correct, I missed reading it somewhere.

The Lucid press release says "CCS1 to NACS and SAE J1772 to NACS adapters are also included with the Lucid Gravity ...".

My review of the guide for the Lucid home charger shows that the charger connector is an SAE J1772. Obvious question, why can't the adapter be used with the current Lucid home charger?

It can, it would just be annoying to deal with. Though I suppose you could leave the adapter attached to the home charger.

I'm fine with that as I do plan to leave the adapter attached.
I still have hope that the bi-directional charging capability of the LCHS will be released in my lifetime.

My question is why would the sales advisor not tell @aijunli about the use of the adapter and instead, not have any recommendations?
