Somewhere I read Taiwan already beats Toyota in solid states battery R&D. And production is coming in near future as manufacturing plant is currently in work. But I couldn’t find that article at the moment.

I'm not technical: is this the silicon anode semi solid state battery that is the current rage? I read somewhere that this is actually further along in development than solid state batteries in terms of deployment.

I believe that the use of a silicon anode is unrelated to whether a battery is "semi" solid state vs using a conventional amount of liquid electrolyte. There have been several announcements of pilot production of semi solid state batteries (still using a flammable liquid electrolyte, but with a reduced amount of it per stored amp-hour).
