Does anyone know which of these capabilities is intended to be part of the vanilla DreamDrive, as opposed to DreamDrive Pro? Tough for me to tell from Lucid's site and marketing...

I can't imagine the ones specifically listed above and referred to by Lucid as being delivered with the car would be anything other than "vanilla" as they include some pretty basic functionality. I am just trying to get an accurate picture of what they have promised vs. what they have delivered as well as what is having issues. I want to be fully informed and with realistic expectations when they call me to tell me my VIN and ask for payment. When you ask the question "when will these functions be included as promised and when will XY&Z be fixed" and the only answer you get is "we will be doing software updates OTA" without specificity as to what and when, it makes me a little worried. "Soon" is not an answer.

Continental, which makes the Lucid ADAS system (and also some very good bike tires), makes a few different LIDAR units. Not sure though how they integrate into the Continental ADAS software suite or how critical they are.

Seems since they are using an off-the-shelf ADAS, DreamDrive (Pro) is unlikely to be better than its competitors, and no reason for me as a "lowly" Touring reservation holder to buy it in hope that it will work someday. Especially as I don't have an awful commute and don't do a lot of long road trips.

I am just trying to get an accurate picture of what they have promised vs. what they have delivered as well as what is having issues.

I get the sense they haven't decided from a business perspective what will be included in the final Pro vs vanilla DreamDrive. After all, we don't even have an options price list.

We know from the FCC compliance section of the owners manual that the ADAS radar modules are from Continental but I have not seen it stated anywhere that the LIDAR is from Continental. While it is logical to to source the all the sensors from one company, have you seen this documented anywhere?

Nope, I haven’t seen that documented anywhere. But it’s a reasonable supposition. I mean, why make software and hardware integration more complex than It needs to be? What’s interesting is that I can’t see where Continental has written about the value of LIDAR. How does it help?

I don't track a car so for me, the 480 HP on the Pure that I reserved should be adequate. An additional benefit for me is that I never expected that the early cars would be complete and perfect. By the time they get to me, I expect sometime in 2023, everything should be working fine or I will be looking elsewhere. In the meantime, my loaded BMW 530e is fine.

The headlight assist is working

If by headlight assist you mean auto-dimming, the feature is not working in my car. Just this evening an approaching car flashed its brights at me because mine had not dimmed on its approach. I searched the settings for a way to activate the feature but found nothing. Have I missed something?

Also, when I stop to pick someone up, I put the car in park, but the exterior door handles do not extend for them to open the door. I have lowered the window and told them to press the handles inward, but to no effect. I have to open my driver's door for the handles to extend to other passengers. Again, I can find nothings in the settings menu to address this. Have I missed something else?

No, you have not missed anything. When that feature is enabled, it will most likely be available on the left panel with headlights, or be enabled by leaving the headlight stalk in the high beam position.

I know if I am just sitting in the car and the door is closed, the state of the door handles can be controlled by the lock/unlock button in the Car menu. I’ve tried to press the Park button a second time when just parked, but that does not unlock the doors (like it does on a Tesla).

Stupid of me not to have thought about trying the lock/unlock button. I'm just used to our Tesla in which passengers trying to get into the car only have to touch the door handles for them to extend if a driver is in the car and it is turned on.

I am finding that having to remember two very different sets of menu protocols to operate features in the Tesla and the Lucid is a bit challenging. In the pre-everything-software-operated days you sometimes had to remember switches were in different places when switching between vehicles, but once you found the button or switch, you just pressed or flipped it in either car. The differences from car to car in how software operates is considerably greater these days. Particularly with Tesla's having gone to that ridiculous stalkless yoke, the gap has widened further.

Also, hearing hmp story, I'm glad it can't be opened without unlocking even if you put it in park. Wouldn't that mean if you are parked anyone could just come open your door from the outside?

Yes, I suppose it would. However, on one occasion we were picking up a friend, and the back door did open when he pressed the handle inward as I told him to do through the window. That's why I became perplexed that it hasn't worked that way since.

Another question. Yesterday I got a notice on the car screen and on both our phone apps that there was an update available. I unplugged the car, turned off the WiFi, and hit the "Install" button. An hour later I checked. The dot next to the "Settings" icon had disappeared, and the car showed that it had the latest software available. But it was still showing version 1.0.8, which is what it was before the update. Also, the update notices on our phone apps (the small dot by the shield icon) have not disappeared.

So . . . did the update load or what?

Alex said he reached out to customer care and the update was just a minor one and that the display should actually be reading 1.1.0 not 1.0.8. I was mistaken earlier when I stated I was getting 1.1.2, when in fact I got this 1.1.0 update. If you so have the icon on your phone though, check again in the car.

I was on the phone with Customer Care yesterday about the scraping/whistling A/C vents, and I asked the rep why the car still showed 1.0.8 after the OTA download. She said that my car had the newest software and that's what the car should be showing.

Frankly, I didn't believe her, but I let it drop since the whole computer and screens are being replaced in the next couple of weeks, and I figure the Service Center will sort all this out.
