Perhaps the group would be happy if it was restated from "lucid doesn't know how to write good software" to a more opinionated statement like "I have not been able to have a positive experience with the software"
Are you claiming that they know how to write good software but don't?
BTW, according to friends Rivian's software is pretty good. So, not ALL companies go through "growing pains".
Yeah, but you've got to admit that the first post was more articulate than most ....

This!!! It’s an expensive car, doesn’t make sense not to invest here. Software is part of the driving experience. I’ve also been at stops where the car won’t recognize my key and I’m holding traffic. With more time, I’m sure I will build trust but never had to do this with other cars. They would have been easy software updates if Lucid had a competent software development team. Apparently they don't.
Thanks. I have the fob with me at all times. It’s just been hit or miss so hoping over time, it’s more reliable. I appreciate the comment. As lucid seems to have us self service these fixes through forums, some of the replies are aggressive. Like the software, I’ll try to ignore it too.The new version of the phone app, which should already be on your phone, fixed the always-awake issue.
Car software OTA 2.7.0, rolling out now, fixed the delay with shifting into drive or reverse on startup.
After a while you'll figure out how to make the mobile key work for you, or switch to the fob.
Why change? Probably for the same reason I started looking to sell my perfectly fine, 7 year old Tesla in early February. Musk and Trump.Took delivery Sept. 2022. Software and tech totally robust: I have no issues.
To the three folk who come here to tell us about their perfect previous cars ...
if they were perfect, why change?
Have you tried the reset (Park, Brake, Microphone, X)?Hi, I’m about two months in to the touring after 6 years of Tesla. I love the way the car drives, handling, blah. BUT wtf is up with the tech? I’m trying to love this car but the software needs a lot of work. I’ve looked through these forums with similar issues and apologize in advance that this is a repeat, but I’m hoping there’s some lucid goddess who will help. My issues are:
- mobile phone key. Mostly doesn’t work and constantly in waking up mode. It’s a fucking teenager. I’ve rebooted, re this and that. So annoying.
- mobile app in general simply doesn’t wake up. I live in a pretty dense city, wifi is not an issue.
- car kinks - I’ve had instance where the car won’t start. I have my key and phone, it won’t recognize. Sometimes the car will when wt eating stays my door is open? Its
lt, open and close and still not working. If I go to park then try to go back, n nothing. Is trading the power to go or shift to drive. I literally have to sit and wait. And trying all sorts of different movements to get the car to recognize it needs to move.
- had the car sleepy desire just go on for 2 minutes. Turned that setting off, I think.
- car play just sucks ass. The sound already is shit and then interrupted by my phone sounds.
I have been in too many situations in less than 2 months where the car is not responding. If this shit continues, I can’t do lucid. These seem like easy software updates so I’m hoping there is a fix. If anyone can enlighten me on these issues, please…
Agreed. I've never written software for Lucid or any other EV company, but have done so for Audi, not to mention numerous Aerospace and Military companies. As an old and seasoned software engineer that has written all levels of software including software used in critical applications, like automotive, commercial airline cockpits, and surgical robots, I too think that this statement is far from fact: "And, let's admit it, Lucid doesn't know how to write good and reliable software. That's a fact." But, that's just my opinion. These threads are so predictable. It's inevitable there will be snarky crap and an eventual pile-on. I have had an appreciation/hate relationship with this forum due to a lot of threads like this - and others.
Thanks. Came on here to get some tips on how to deal with these kinks. Lots of personalities and just need some solid feedback or even those that share they don’t have issues. It is a fact. Just check how many people have issues when others don't. That demonstrates that the software is unreliable.
And the fact that Tesla had/has bad software doesn't in any way excuse Lucid.
Since when stating facts is trashing Lucid?
BTW the longer you have a car, the more you get used to its idiosyncrasies and stop noticing them. But they still exist.
Yeah, me, too. My sarcasm doesn't come across too well in this forum. You mean the profanity-laced one?
I’ve done my share of complaining about Lucid, but I did learn to express myself with a wider array of adjectives and adverbs.
That crude tone is actually what set me off about this thread from the get-go.
I’ve tried the air reset which helped fixed a CarPlay issue not recognizing Spotify. I also found that if I prompt Siri, the music pops up. I found that helpful tip on a thread. The challenge is it’s not consistent. There was a software update today so maybe that will help some of my issues. Thanks!Have you tried the reset (Park, Brake, Microphone, X)?
