Did you type this with a straight face? Serious question. Waiting on a promise from a manufacturer is futile?

Many manufacturers, unfortunately including Lucid, will promise services or products that they never deliver for one reason or another. I don't think it's dishonesty, it may just be changes in priorities, supply chain issues, or circumstances beyond their control. Here are three concrete examples for the Lucid Air: V2H, Android Auto, Hands-Free DA.

The promise of V2H, which was a narrative before the car was ever released, was important to me as we experience blackouts here in San Diego when it's windy and fire danger is high. In that instance, it would be extremely useful to me as I do not have battery capability with my solar. Sadly, it is now years later, and despite additional assurances that they are "working on it" it has not materialized.

Android Auto has been discussed and promised over and over. Lucid said it would be released by the fall of 2024, the last day of which was over 4 months ago.

Hands-Free Drive Assist has been teased several times but also was never released.

Around my house, "working on it" is a phrase that was banned a long time ago. I'd ask my husband to do something and it took forever with no progress. When I'd ask about when it would get done, he'd always say he was working on it. It got to mean, good luck ever seeing it done. Now no one says it here unless it's meant to be a joke.

Yup!

Part of Lucid's rhetoric from 3-4 years ago was contrasting Lucid's engineering-based approach to development vs Tesla's exaggerated promises (e.g. FSD, poor quality control, etc.). While Lucid's delivered good results on its drivetrains (yes, industry-leading, though not as far ahead of the field as Lucid would want you to think, e.g., efficiency, realizable range, battery charging) the rest (SW, drive-automation, navigation/info system, etc.) have major credibility gaps! Tesla, to my understanding, is still miles ahead of Lucid when it comes to SW.

Charging $10k for DD Pro, then delayed and abandoning key features promised, does not inspire confidence in Lucid's planning and execution! Communication is even worse.

Perhaps Lucid should offer Air DD Pro buyers a sizable discount (say $7k-10k) if they trade up to Gravity (with the DD Pro features promised for the Air). After all, these buyers paid extra for these features promised by Lucid, but never received them!

Please report back on your ability to use short then long press to open the trunk. I never get the timing right.

I retrieved my fob from the drawer, which I haven't used in 3-4 months (the fob, not the drawer). I approached the gar in the garage...it was already unlocked, probably as a result of detecting the fob as I approached the garage, so I single-clicked to lock the door.

I clicked, then held it down (short, long). Trunk popped open. Easy enough.

I clicked, then held it down....trunk closed. Equally easy.

I placed the fob back in the drawer and walked back into my home office to type this.

First time attempting it. 100% success.

You're not alone. I can't get the timing for that right either. It's just easier to press the exterior button on the trunk when I walk up to the car. If I'm in the car, I use the button on the pilot panel. I use the fob for the frunk, or to lock and unlock the doors. But not the trunk.

Thanks. That is my observation also. My small brain has not been able to master the dot dash timing for the trunk. For others it seems easy.

I *think* that this is a feature request, but I would love for the passive lock/unlock to have the option to be turned OFF near the "home" location. Each day my car disables its passive lock/unlock because it engages so many times while I walk around my house (and my phone ventures "close enough" to the car in the garage that it thinks that I am looking to unlock). Not only is this annoying each morning (when it will no longer passively unlock), it actually uses up (a small amount of) battery life.

Think of it like double clicking a mouse...but holding it down on the second click. I can't imagine you're doing it too quickly...which really just leaves the option of doing it too slowly. If I had to guess, I'm at 1/10th or 1/5th of a second between the first click and the start of the long press.

I don't think that's the issue....the pace seems about the same from the little Morse I've heard. Are you sure your first click is actually clicking rather than just applying some pressure? My fob is on the firm side, and yes, I tried typing that 3 different ways, and none of them sounded any better....
