Rear Trunk Has A Mind of Its Own

My rear trunk seems to open on its own. 1st time was when I came back after running errands, I found it open. Couldn't close it with my app. Had to manually close it, but felt a little resistance from the trunk.
Thought it was a glitch, but it happened again 2 months later. Came back from an errand 10 minutes after I parked, and found the truck open again. Again, the app would not let me close it. Had to manually close it.
I have a Touring with updated software.
Anyone else experience this?

I’d text service about that one. Sometime the trunk will not auto close if you press the close button on the trunk lid firmly enough because it interprets that force as trying to open it, but I’ve never seen it auto-open. A short followed by a long press of the keyfob would open the trunk, so there’s a possibility that if your fob was in your pocket with other objects that could do it, but I’d still be surprised. I have had my frunk open before when trying to open the trunk but that was with older software and before I got my frunk latches replaced, and it hasn’t happened since.

Thanks.
I never use/carry the fob, only the phone app. And I did not open/close the trunk after I parked. I'll visit the service center since it's close by.

The app will sometimes lag. If it didn't process, then you go do it manually the command may still go through after the lag.

Strangely enough, my car is doing something similar. Really, it's the only issue with the car that needs immediate attention as the trunk seems to unlatch without warning, followed by the trunk lid moving upward a few inches at a time when the trunk buttons are pressed (on the trunk itself, via the pilot panel, key fob and app). See video below of trunk incrementally opening, refusing to close other than manually, and then...working just fine.

Got a service date in a few weeks, so hopefully they can sort that out. Anyone else experience something like this?

Ive had this behavior happen once. Went inside the car and tried to drive out but had a warning that trunk was open. Checked and it was physically closed but alert was still there. When I tried to open the trunk it would go up 2 inches at a time. Once it went fully up after pressing 10 to 20x (due to it going up an inch or 2 at a time), it closed properly after. Haven't been able to replicate it since then. Let us know what you find out from service.

I can make that happen but only if I push in with too much force on the open button as the car thinks the additional force is blocking it so it will stop opening, however yours appears too sensitive and needs adjusting.

Interesting. Not sure that's the same issue as mine does this even if I use any of the other ways of opening (fob, app, pilot panel). If it is the issue then my trunk and I have a lot in common.
